Doomsday of MHA

A young man stuck in a world brought low by humanities greed, all he has left while waiting for oblivion is the stories from the past- these stories are all that stop him from succumbing to the mind-numbingly boring and monotonous life he lives. When the end finally arrives he is given the chance to enter a new world of heroes and villains, of reality and ideals. His start will not be glamorous, his power strong but hard to nurture, will he push through to become a hero or fall to the prejudice raised against him in this world where those with quirks are praised, those without scorned and those whose power mutates them looked upon with disgust! Follow his gritty journey as he tries to find his way in this new but all too familiar world! [So yeah the protagonist will have powers of base Doomsday- Hyper regeneration/Resurrection/Adaptation. Every other power Doomsday has is a result of adaptation and him fighting some of the most OP beings in fiction, so at the beginning the protagonist will be basically human and will have to go through the gruelling process the power requires, also... NO HAREM!]

Detective Doomsday

I didn't have any reflective surfaces in sight to check my appearance… but maybe the man or the car would.

Shuffling around the back of the car I saw the number plate, I looked down the bottom to see where it was registered to (God I hope this place doesn't speak martian).

N.T. Outback Australia.

Well the where part was partially solved I guess, though I still didn't know if this was a time travel scenario where I was sent back in time in my own world before the collapse or if I'd entered a different reality… or if my messed up head was creating all this from scratch a few seconds before I died or woke up.

I really hoped it was the second and not the first since Australia was the initial breakout point in my world and I really wasn't looking forward to fighting billions of mutated insects.

On the bright side if this was my world in the past it clearly was at least a hundred years before it occurred if the car was anything to go by.

Speaking of the car…

Standing next to it drove home just how small I had become… I must've been about 2 feet tall!

Looking over the rest of my body was starting to make me believe I really was dreaming; Gray skin - check, white bony spurs - check, regeneration (one broken finger later) - check, adaptation (I can no longer break any of my fingers) - fucking check.

I'd turned into fucking Doomsday!?

Am I in DC? Good God I hope not.

It feels like every day a random world ending crisis occurs and to hell with dealing with someone like Lex Luthor or Darkseid!

Nigh invulnerability and unkillability is nice and all but I really don't wanna be a punching bag for cosmically powerful beings!

I scrambled over to the busted-up front of the car, I hope they have some maps or stickers or anything to tell me I'm in a different world.

Rifling through the compartments I found a map… which would be useful if there were any signs around me or if they'd marked where I currently was… which they hadn't!

I'll hold onto it for now but what else is in here?

Half empty water bottle? Now an empty water bottle. Pair of sunglasses, don't fit but mine now! Packet of mints, tasty. Pair of faded shorts, better than being naked even if they don't fit when tightened to the max.

And an old poster featuring… Samuel Hayden? Oh shit am I in Doom?

One small heart attack later I continued to read; Samuel Hayden, The Legendary Commonwealth Ranger… Below it was a man who gave off some serious fallout new Vegas vibes with a slogan plastered in bold letters beneath-

The Australian Symbol of Peace!

Symbol of Peace? My Hero Academia?

That's a hell of a lot better than many others I could have gotten, still doesn't help my situation much though.

I should have read more! I'd been so busy trying to fix my crappy circumstances (and totally not reading other stuff) that I'd only gotten up to the part where the main cast was ambushed while training in the forest!

What year is it? Damnit I'd never paid attention to any particular dates and only the sequence of events.

I… I could become a hero! I could actually be involved and improve the world for the better! I could make real friends and not have to worry about the world ending!

I.. I didn't know how to process the sudden loss of existential dread, to no longer have to be alone, to no longer have to wonder if every day I might be eaten by a bug or killed in a million equally possible ways… Now… Now there were only like a few hundred!

I'm not ashamed to say I actually cried for a bit…

I had to get to Japan! The how would be difficult if… you know… if I wasn't Doomsday that is.

I was already realizing that the heat I'd found to be blistering earlier now wasn't bothering me in the slightest, I also wasn't entirely sure but I don't think I needed to breathe either? No doubt thanks to the underground adventure I'd had earlier.

I hopped out of the shade of the car… I could tell it was warmer but I no longer felt like I was being cooked. I felt hungry though, I'm not sure if the mints made it worse.

So first choice, starve and die for a bit or scavenge for food?

I took one look at my surroundings, the bare red earth and some small shrubs… starve it is.

I walked up to the man in the chair… It wasn't a pretty sight.

The man had obviously been dead for a while, bones were showing through what little of his gray skin remained… Interesting that he had gray skin..

I didn't have to be a genius to guess that this was my father in this world… or this body's father?

Looking over at the grave next to the one I'd crawled out of… I guess that was my mother?

I knew quirks could be hereditary, just had to look at todoroki to see that. So was my background in this world a double quirk between these two?

But I thought doomsday had more than two abilities at base? Death nullification/Resurrection, Super Adaptation (which most other abilities are derived from), Hyper regeneration and the bone spur things (I'm not really sure if they're a part of adaptation though).

Resurrection alone is OP as all hell, and clearly if either of my 'parents' has it then it has some major drawbacks, perhaps mine is a stronger version?

Any form of adaptation can be super strong, cultivate it properly and you'd be a veritable tank… though it also relies heavily on regeneration… so I'm confident in saying that whichever of them has one doesn't have the other.

On the topic of regeneration though… even a heavily nerfed version of mine should be approaching movie deadpool levels of strength, surely enough to survive whatever led to this? Right?
