Dissecting the Gods. (Against the gods and Naruto fanfiction)

In an attempt to survive his anticlimactic battle between Itachi Uchiha, Orochimaru found himself in a new land like no other. A place where martial practitioners ruled and chased immortality. In this place there were new energies, techniques, godly treasures and divine bloodlines just waiting to be exploited...... (weekly updates) ______________________________________ Hello there readers! This story is one of my first ventures into writing and my first ever fanfiction. The first volumes of this story will take place a century before the start of the original Against the Gods novel and will mostly focus on Orochimaru making a foothold in the world. Updates will be two chapters once per week. This may increase as my writing abilities grow. But for now, in order to maintain the quality of the writing and plot this is the best I can do. As a frustrated reader myself; I've seen too many botched ATG fanfics with horrible plots or grammar. I aim to correct this in my novel as a native English speaker. What readers can expect is: Sect/kingdom building Human experimentation. Human rights violations Child soldiers Large scale Massacres. Evil Main character Overpowered Character I have no intention of making Orochimaru a good person overtime or an antihero. I wish to write what I think a mad scientist like Orochimaru would do if he was let loose in a cultivation universe. There will be no: Systems/Romance

Exciting Day

It was morning time. But it was still very lively at the docks of the floating pleasure district known as the Moon Lake Pavilion. In a particular pleasure boat known as: Fěnsè de Yue Palace, a small table littered with fine porcelain bowls and plates filled with cuts of meat, noodles, vegetables and fruits.

A meticulous pair of engraved jade chopsticks grasped in a tender, milky-pale hand would gather various pieces of scrumptious food and deposit them into the mouth of a lounging Kang Yuan.

Ke'er; with almost mother-like care, fed Kang Yuan, seemingly unmindful of the young man's palm gently massaging her pert breast. They weren't the only ones present. There were two other youngsters there. One was a rather heavyset youth with a stiff gut and the other youngster looked skinny with a long face. Both of them wore fine robes decorated with embroidery of profound beasts.

'Birds of a feather flock together it seems.' With his head resting in his palm Orochimaru's eyes passed over the two standing across from him. As he regarded them memories about them displayed themselves.

The both of these youths were 17 years old, that placed them both two years older than the new vessel of the Snake Sanin. They had even less talent than Kang Yuan did. Kong Shizu the heavy set fellow was at the second level elementary profound realm and Murong Fei was at the first!

They were the only lackeys poor and desperate enough to leave with Kang Yuan on his lonely banishment to the Blue Wind Nation. "Hahaha! Young master! We were just about to call you out for breakfast but it seems you're doing well." Kong Shizu rubbed his stiff belly.

"You seemed to have enjoyed your night young master- we sure did as well!" Murong Fei had a lecherous smile on his face as he eyed ke'er's partially exposed flesh.

"Young master? Didn't I tell you two to call me younger brother?! Come my friends sit! Eat and drink some wine! Orochimaru- a master performer perfectly mimicked the original mannerisms of Kang Yuan.

The two rambled out thanks as they took a seat and began eating- Kong shizu removed pair of chopsticks from his robes.

"Elder brothers Fei and Kong. I've got today planned out perfectly! The both of you have been arranging things for so long. It's time I relieve you elder brothers of your stress." Orochimaru smiled at them.

The two young men glanced at each other briefly- if the one looking at them was Kang Yuan, he probably wouldn't have noticed.

"Um..... younger brother I'm not really sure about that. You should relax and let us handle these tedious things." The long faced Murong Fei said; Kong Shizu nodded in solidarity.

The snake sanin smiled, these two had done a marvelous job at milking the stupid Kang Yuan of his wealth. On the journey to the Blue Wind Nation, they both decided to handle all the "Boring stuff" such as spending the money on expensive inns, in brothels and on frivolous goods.

The money he'd be given to live out his life was already half gone! Blood lust of twisted origin leaked out from him faintly. "Elder brothers. I think I'll be just fine today spending my own wealth don't you think?"

The aura of the third level of the elementary profound mixed with terrible vileness shook them to their cores! It didn't take them long to buckle under the pressure!

"Y-y-yes young master!" The two wastrels weakly answered.

The suddenly imposing Kang Yuan smiled and immediately the invisible pressure weighing upon them vanished without a trace. The two looked at Kang Yuan in disbelief.

'What the hell was that!?' the two exchanged looks of fright and confusion.

The young master looked and acted the same but he definitely changed! And what was that sinister pressure!? Murong Fei quickly dug around in his large robes until he took out a golden card and shakily handed it over.

Orochimaru's hand ceased juicing ke'er's bosom and took the card. After careful examination, he saw the balance.

Only 50 purple profound coins! Mind you, Kang Yuan's elder had given him a generous amount of money- enough to live comfortably! Not as he did in the clan but more than enough provided he come to weak, but economically and politically stable nation like Blue Wind.

But these three had managed to burn through a whopping 500 purple profound coins in such a short time! Only 10% of the previous wealth remained!

The two debaucherous youths had sweat gleaming on their faces as Kang Yuan checked the remaining balance, only to feel relief as he looked at them and smiled.

"Eat up elder brothers, we have much to do today!" He smiled while pocketing the profound card.

'Maybe he's still a fool?'

A mother pulled her daughter closer as the walked past the three frivolous individuals. The smell of wine and brothel incense hung around them thickly. She knew the smell well, her scoundrel of a husband returned home smelling this way frequently.

'Nasty pigs!' the woman thought in her mind as she went on her way. Her reaction was mirrored by many other denizens of New Moon City.

"Young master, it seems we'll need to hire some guards. The barbarians of this poor nation might try to rob us!" A rather heavyset youth whispered to the young man beside him.

"Yes young master Yuan! The Kang clan has no influence here." Another youth said. He stood a little taller than both of his other his companions his face was long, having likeness to a horse.

Kang Yuan's face was one of nonchalance and mirth as he walked in between them. "Bah! These scum!? They wouldn't dare and what Young master? Didn't I tell you two to call me younger brother!?"

Murong Fei and Kong Shizu weren't having the best of days. Their stupid little brother Yuan suddenly became a tyrant.

He cancelled the their stay at the comfy Moon Lake Pavilion. He then laid off all the staff- took their storage rings and putting all the goodies they bought within them. Now they had to walk through the sizable city without their grand entourage and out in the hot sun. It was as if their younger brother had gone mad.

On the other hand Orochimaru felt good. His eyes scanned the interior of the city. Taking in the architecture, language and clothing of the populace.

The atmosphere wasn't very different from any other city or town in the elemental nations. But the culture and strength of the average individual was the difference. All over he could sense powerful auras. Peak elementary profound realm, middle nascent profound realm, early true profound realm and so on.

On any given street there were cultivators! The average individuals had much more power to them than most from the elemental nations. Yes they'd most likely die without even knowing if pitted against even a lowly Genin but still Orochimaru could help but be elated at how reachable the pathways to immortality and strength were before him.

The three made their way to the Black Merchant guild. The Snake Sanin walked up to the middle aged man behind a counter and cupped his fist within his palm in greeting as the natives did.

The man wore a stoic expression as he asked: "Buying or Selling?"

"Both" Orochimaru smiled as he placed two storage rings on the counter. The clerk studied the rings one being a silver rank while the other a cyan rank. After checking the contents, he looked up at Orochimaru and said: "Everything in total is worth 100 purple coins would you like to sell?"

"Yes and take the yellow ranked spatial ring as well."

As soon as Orochimaru nodded his head. The two silk pants behind him almost screamed. All their jewels, clothing, and other toys they'd bought were to be sold off.

The were about complain but a serious pressure radiated from Kang Yuan silenced them.

"Oh, places sell me the cheapest of all the items on this list." Orochimaru removed a piece of paper from his robes and handed it off to the clerk.

Murong Fei and Kong Shizu almost wanted to pull their hair out!

In the end, Orochimaru walked out of the Black merchant guild with 150 purple profound coins. Reluctantly, his lackies followed behind him as he made his way for the governor's mansion.

On the way, Murong Fei specifically was the most fatigued. He would pull out a fan, stop to rest or wipe his face. But eventually, they reached the massive gates of Governor Jing Po's Office.

As the main administrative point of the city, the entrance was flooded with people entering and leaving. Orochimaru and his group were registered by stoic guards before they entered. After a little asking around, the Sanin met with a lower official to discuss land perchase.

He already had a place in mind after reading the map of the city. To the astonishment of both his lackies and the officer, Orochimaru purchased land in the desolate eastern slums!

The Governor's Administrative office signed over an estate of 110 Acres of land to Kang Yuan for a measly 56 purple profound coins! Mind you, this was a property inside the city! Land was most expensive here. Especially an estate that already had a mansion and additional buildings.

However, the land of the eastern slums were different. The whole massive land area of that part of the city was abandoned and devalued! The official couldn't help but look a little stunned as the frivolous-looking man placed his fingerprint and handed over his profound card for payment.

'Was this guy kicked in the head by a donkey?' He thought.

Nonetheless, the payment was made and the deed was handed over. Orochimaru and his group withdrew from the Administrative office.

With the deed in hand stating the property, servants and guards present there were all his, Orochimaru, his grief-stricken and tired elder brothers retired at a cheap Inn in the evening.

He dismissed his sour-faced lackies and went straight to his room. But he didn't sleep, instead he got into the lotus position and steadied his breathing.

Earlier this morning, he closely acquainted himself with his new vessel and its 'mutated' form. This was a body like no other he'd ever inhabited.

This vessel had chakra coils and 361 chakra points, but a whopping 54 of these coils and their respective points were heavily mutated and different from the normal physique of inhabitant of the elemental nations. Not only were they larger than the norm, they absorbed energy instead of expelling it.

Yet only 11 of the 54 were open in his body. This left him with 307 chakra points. This was a problem. He of all people knew how important chakra coils and points were to performing justu. With a whole 54 chakra coils and points being compromised- the cooresponding hand seals made to transform and regulate chakra inside a body possessing 361 were now invalid. He'd need to restructure and remodel all his justu and reacquaint himself with chakra control.  The real question- was could he build up and mold chakra?

He formed the tiger seal and began mixing his considerable spiritual energy and surprisingly robust physical energy. The familiar feeling of chakra building up within his body gave him a sense of calm. However, before it could be generated to higher quantities. His profound energy began reacting to the chakra!

The reaction wasn't violent as he feared. The two energies mixed together as well as oil and water. However, after a few minutes Orochimaru noticed that despite building up chakra- all be it slowly, it's volume wasn't increasing. In fact he could keenly sense his profound energy dissolving it!

Specifically- it was somehow being broken down and separated back into physical and spiritual energy. After a couple more expirements, he noticed the energies could coexist but one needed to be of greater concentration within his meridians. He wouldn't be able to wield profound energy and chakra at the same time.

This little finding raised concerns for the effects ninjutsu would have on his opponents in this world. He'd need to expiriment thoroughly. But he wasn't planning on giving up his ninjutsu. It was his secret weapon and greatest tool. To survive and establish himself- he'd need the power and mysteries of the elemental nations to give his a much needed edge.

And so, throughout the night, Orochimaru tested the effects of chakra and profound energy while purging it from his system leaving only his familiar and reliable chakra before passing out from exhaustion early the next morning.
