chapter 3 meeting future hero

Junpei was completely shocked when he saw the two people in front of him. They were Inko Midoriya and Mitsuki Bakugo, the parents of the most important characters in the series.

"Wait, does that mean the kids I'm supposed to play with today are Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo? I never expected to meet them so soon!"

"Hideko, it's been a while. We haven't talked in over three years. What have you been up to?" Mitsuki asked.

"Well, I was adjusting after the injury."

"Oh yeah, I'm sorry about that. I hope it didn't affect your everyday life."

"Actually, no, it didn't bother me at all. The only thing I was concerned about was whether I could have children again. But it seems that worry was unnecessary, and I can still achieve my dream of having a large family."

They finally noticed the boy behind Hideko's leg.

"Oh, is this your son?"

"Yes, his name is Takahashi Junpei."

"Nice to meet you! Oh, you're so adorable! If you want to play, Katsuki and Izuku are right over there."

Looking at the park, I saw two young boys. "Come on, Izu, let's play heroes and villains," said one of them.

"Alright, Kacchan."

"Oi, you two, come here!" Mitsuki called.

They both came straight to us. "Oi, old hag, what do you want?" Katsuki said.

"Who the hell are you calling an old hag?" Mitsuki snapped back. I wasn't surprised that Bakugo called his own mother that.

"Listen up, this is Takahashi Junpei."

"Nice to meet you," Izuku said. "We were just about to play heroes and villains. Do you want to come play with us?"

"Obviously," I replied, and the three of us headed towards the trees.

It's quite a surprise. I didn't realize I was this close to the protagonists all along. I know my mom was injured, and because of that injury, she had to temporarily retire. Luckily, the sidekicks in her agency took care of everything until her comeback. But now that I look at Izuku and Bakugo, it gets me thinking about the story.

I was just a casual fan. I don't know when every major event in the story takes place in the timeline, so there's no way for me to change major plot points. But there is something I can do. Looking at Izuku, I can influence the protagonist. I can make him less self-destructive and less compassionate for the right reasons.

I don't clearly Know if this was a problem in the anime, but to be honest, his tendency to try and save everyone, including villains, is a bit problematic. Like in the final war, he tried to save Shigaraki. Early in the story, when Izuku wasn't able to control his ability and kept breaking his arm the first time he used One for All on a person, he didn't break his arm because he was unconsciously holding back. If he didn't want to save Shigaraki and went for the kill, the fight would have ended a lot faster and with a lot less casualties.

And as for Bakugo, I will try to rein in his ego, but this will be extremely difficult.

Half an hour later, Mitsuki called out, "Kids, we need to go."

"Do you want to come to my house to play video games tomorrow?" Bakugo suggested.

"Of course," I replied.

A few days later...

"Why is she so good? Damn it!" Bakugo exclaimed.

"I've been playing this game a lot with Junpei," Akari said. We were playing Super Smash Bros. and I was obviously Bowser.

"Forget this game!" Bakugo yelled, throwing the controller on the ground.

"What the hell are you doing to my controller?" Keiji screamed. While Keiji and Bakugo were fighting, the three of us were talking.

"So, Akari, how long have you known Junpei?" Izuku asked.

"It's been a long time, really. He was actually my first friend," she said shyly, with a low tone.

"Wow, really? It's the same thing with me and Kacchan. We became friends because we both wanted to become the number one hero," Izuku shared.

"You guys want to become heroes?" Akari asked.

"Well, yeah. Do you like heroes as well?" Izuku replied.

"I do like them, but becoming a hero... it's really embarrassing to think about seeing my face on the news."

As they were talking about heroes, I realized that I had never seen Akari in the anime. That means one of three things: either she was at UA but was a background character, or she was too shy to enter UA, which is the most likely, or she didn't enter UA because she had a weak Quirk.

"Junpei," Akari snapped me out of my thoughts. "Do you want to become a hero as well?"

"Of course! I'm going to become a hero. My whole family are heroes."

"Well, in that case, I will become a hero with both of you," Akari said.

"Wait, do you seriously want to become a hero? You know that heroes are always in the spotlight. Are you sure you can handle that?" I asked.

"I know, but I'm working really hard to get over my shyness. And becoming a hero will mean that I'm no longer shy."

"Alright then, I guess all four of us will become heroes," Izuku said.

"Oh, I forgot to ask you an important question," Izuku said.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Can you tell me about your family's Quirks?" he said with an unbelievably excited tone.

I had only known Izuku for a few days, but I managed to predict this question. "If you really want to know, I'll tell you. My father's hero name is Savage. His Quirk lets him transform into any animal, either in complete form or hybrid form. My mother's hero name is Attract Girl. Her Quirk makes anything act like a magnet. If you see her fight without knowing her Quirk, you might mistake it for telekinesis, but she's actually using magnetism, which only works on objects, not people. My brother's hero name is Power Beast. He can gain the power of any animal like my dad, but without a transformation. (author's note Basically, like Vixen.) My sister is called Nine Tails. Her power gives her some of the abilities of a nine-tailed fox, like shapeshifting, creating illusions, and controlling dreams."

"Wow, they're all amazing. I hope I get a Quirk as awesome as those," Izuku said. "What type of Quirk do you want, Akari?"

"Well, if I have to choose, I want..." Akari began.

Hearing this conversation reminded me of what's going to happen in a year—how Izuku will become an outcast because he's Quirkless. The thought of that day makes me unbelievably sad, but this time it will be different. I'll be there for him.
