Heart

When the elder had seen the transformation be complete, he quickly used his own power to draw Gaofeng out of the whirlpool in the volcano and to his side. The elder had never seen a complete rebirth of any being, as the level of technique required for the person to be reborn had to at least be at the level of a phoenix' divine rebirth. Even a phoenix' divine rebirth couldn't be compared to the Divine Myriad Changes, however. The transformed Gaofeng truly shocked the elder, as he never expected that Gaofeng would directly turn from a youth into a young adult. The young man now looked to be between 16 and 18 years of age rather than his inward age of 12. He had gained a solid wide frame with protruding muscles, a defined jawline, and a height which superseded that of a normal adult. His height was actually closer to that of those belonging to the titan race, reaching an approximated total of eight feet in total. The power hidden in Gaofeng's body, however, was far larger than even what this powerful outward appearance could account for, as each atom in this gigantic body carried a power far beyond any others, and his physique had been thoroughly improved on the structural level. Holy physiques had the potential to change and improve, and could be divided into different levels of improvement, but this transformation superseded any normal improvement and instead seemed like an entirely different physique far above that of the, in comparison, ordinary Holy physique. If there were classifications of physiques above the Holy level, Gaofeng would surely surpass even the realm above the realm above Holy physiques, though by how much even this ancient elder couldn't tell.

"Young man, its time for your last tribulation. I understand that with your determination there is nothing that is going to stop you from attempting it, so I will spare you the warnings. This last test is both similar and dissimilar to the last tests. It requires you to carve a single divine symbol into your true heart. If you're not able to carve it in time you will bleed out, but if you are able to then your efforts will definitely not have been in vain. Even I don't know the full potential of the Divine Myriad Changes Heart, but this step will let you cultivate this exact heart. This is both a physical change to your heart, and a method with which to create divine cultivation techniques, abilities, and the like, in addition to the ability to combine and more easily improve upon existing techniques. There is no true limit to these abilities, as it only depends on your Divine Myriad Changes Heart boundary. If you reach a high enough cultivation of it, you will be able to create abilities that even far outstrip the one's you've already obtained in this inheritance space. These techniques has been created over the years by the self-revolving Divine Myriad Changes Heart, so imagine what could be created if this ability were in the hands of a conscious being like yourself. The potential is truly unlimited. Although this is the primary function of the Divine Myriad Changes Heart, it is not the only one. There is much even I don't know about this inheritance, however, so other than telling you that cultivating this special heart will enable you to change your bloodline for the better, I cannot tell you much else. Good luck, son." The elder said with a reluctant, but proud, expression. Following this, the elder gently touched Gaofeng's shoulder, and Gaofeng found himself outside of the Golden Tablet once again. He hadn't noticed when it had happened, but he realized that there was an intricate blade in his right hand, the blade of which seemed to rip through the very seams of space itself, leaving behind ripples and vibrations in space with Gaofeng's slightest movement. When Gaofeng returned his gaze to the Golden Tablet, he felt as if a foggy curtain had been removed, and he could clearly see the actual content of the Golden Tablet. When Gaofeng tried explaining the symbol he saw, even in his own mind, the only thing he could really describe was the feeling it gave off, and the feeling was that of the deepest mysteries of the universe and the highest of powers bending over in the face of this symbol. This submission was not done willingly, however, but Gaofeng sensed that these mysterious and great powers had no chance to even resist in front of this divine symbol. The symbol remained the same, but somehow it also changed shape, from divine trees to dragons, to great worlds, stars, mountains, giants, divine spirits, beautiful flowers. In other words, this single symbol seemed to contain all things, simultaneously. After awaking from his reverie, Gaofeng knew that his final test had already begun. He needed to quite literally carve this symbol into his heart.

This kind of opportunity only came once in a lifetime, and the pain Gaofeng had experienced in the previous trials had already tested and improved his unshakable will, so how could he possibly let himself stop at the last stage? Steeling his heart, he lifted the blade, taking it in both hands, and gently pierced his own chest until he felt the tip of the blade touch his heart. The pain Gaofeng felt, however, was far more manageable than that of the previous test, but this was different because it was a pain he had to willingly do to himself rather than a pain being caused by an outside force. Taking a deep breath, Gaofeng carefully studied the symbol in front of him one more time, and it felt like it was nearly seared into his mind. There was no way for a mortal to consider the deep intricacies of this gigantic symbols without assistance, and thus the inheritance naturally compensated for this by presenting every twist down to the smallest details inside Gaofeng's mind. Closing his eyes, he started applying force with his hands. His instinct told him that this symbol had to be thoroughly carved, and not simply scratched onto the surface of it, so he decidedly shoved the blade down to its handle, feeling it hit the center of his heart. A burning pain shot through his body at this action, but he refused to give in to it and instead continued carving. If he could be fast while retaining accuracy, he would have the greatest chance of finishing the carving before either dying or giving up. The blade moved steadily, not showing even the slightest wavering despite the pain Gaofeng was experiencing at the moment. Hot fire was filling his mind and body with pain and his previously tense forehead now creased deeply. A mortal would already have died at this point, but due to Gaofeng's immensely powerful physique it would take far more for the same to happen to him. Additionally, Bloodbath was already showing its prowess by rapidly forming more blood that although his would weren't healing at least he wasn't bleeding out. While continuously carving, Gaofeng invoked the Divine Myriad Changes technique for the first time, inducing his symbol-chain soul to rapidly revolve, filling him with a relieving feeling of comfort and clarity of mind. This feeling continued maintaining itself as long as Gaofeng revolved his cultivation technique.

Without even noticing it, his hands came to a sudden stop as the symbol was already completely carved. When Gaofeng now pulled out the dagger, the expected fountain of blood didn't gush out of his chest. Instead, he felt that the world-energy in the surroundings, as well as a very pure energy from the Golden Tablet, all converged upon his chest. This energy flowed into the wounds he had cut and merged with the symbol in his heart, turning it from an outline to the true might of the primordial dao. The color of the symbol changed to black, then white, then gold, then azure, and continued to further change from one color to another before eventually settling in a color which couldn't truly be said to be a single color, but it was rather like a Damascus pattern which merged a myriad of colors, and from different angles different colors would be more preeminent. Gaofeng, however, couldn't exactly consider the color at this moment, as the symbol had turned completely saturated after absorbing energy for what felt like days. Time in this world moved in an odd way and thus he always felt that the time he experienced wasn't the true amount of time which had passed, and this feeling only became clearer at this moment. When the symbol was completely saturated it had naturally become complete, however the energy in the surroundings didn't stop flowing into the wound, as it started closing the rest of the wound and other damage he had created with the blade. When the energy stopped flowing, the symbol he had carved was still visible on his skin, seeming like a tattoo, however it was a deep crimson blood-red in color.

I hope you all enjoy the chapter!
