Set on the Journey

After fighting both Ryan and Garrick I was able to see my strengths and weaknesses and now I can say that I have grown a little more than what I was before.

With saying all this all the group members were getting ready for the journey and were packing their stuff, whatever they would need for it. Everyone was packing supplies, some were sharpening their weapons because their would be a fight and that's inevitable to avoid.

We again reviewed our route and it was a few kilometres of travelling until we reached our destination. Even though the distance is not much, Garrick said that we will move slowly to avoid any conflict and to keep everyone safe.

"We will complete our journey in two days. So prepare yourself accordingly." said Garrick.

I was not so sure why he would waste two days but I also understand his situation because even he knows that not everyone from this group will make their and how many of us will even return back to our hideout.

Tomorrow morning we will be leaving. I was not able to sleep so I was checking on everyone at least with whom I could talk like Ryan, Garrick and.. uh Marc too.

When I reached Ryan he was sleeping with his shield so I didn't want to wake him up. Then I moved towards Garrick where I saw him closed in his room. I knocked but he said not to disturb him because he was still reviewing our route to find any loopholes that we might have left.

Well can't blame him, the whole group will be under his words so he needs to be prepared for anything.

So finally I reached towards Marc's room and it was open but he was not in his room. Then I saw a letter that said "I am on a personal mission will be back on time tomorrow and I know only you would have come and read it Davis." - by Marc.

Uh... well he was half right but he was gone yesterday and no one questioned him. I guess e is a free soul. He was not in the reviewing of the route this morning but if he says so he will be back by tomorrow morning.

Let's just head back and take a nap or I will not be able to keep my sense up and can get devoured by those monsters.

Everyone keep believing in me and stay by my side, please don't ever leave me and I won't disappoint you all.

(The day of the Journey...)

Finally the day arrived. The Sun was shining brighter than before like it was giving us the light to move forward. It gave me a good feeling, a feeling of something which made me remember some good old memories which helps me to keep on living.

We all gathered and Garrick shouted.

"We will make it!!!"

"We will make!!!" rest of the group.

Garrick shouts "We will make it to it."

"Yes!!!" rest of the group.

"We will find out everything and We will make it alive. Did you hear me? I said Alive." Garrick shouted.

"Yeah!!!!!!!" rest of the group *cheering*.

"Is this all necessary Garrick." said Marc.

"You need to motivate all of them. That's the job of a leader that you will never understand." Garrick replied.

"Yeah like a leader you are taking everyone to their doom for your selfish reasons to find out the truth about all of this." Marc replied.

But Garrick didn't say anything and just left.

So I asked Marc. "Where were you these two days? Everyone was preparing for this journey."

"Well I would not like to share it with you." Marc replied.

"I read your letter you said something about a personal job." I said.

"OH, so you do read my letter. I was not 100% sure that you would read it but I was correct. We really do think like each other." Marc replied.

"Well thank you for the appreciation. So now could you tell this mere mortal about where you were." I said.

"Well it was personal and was nothing much yet I liked how you didn't get that angry at my statements. I liked that about you." Marc replied.

"Well I could also like not to tell you how much I want to beat you down but only one thing is stopping me and that is your thinking. You just say things that you see and understand, that not everyone can get right away." I replied.

"Oh my God. My heart just filled with so much appreciation. Are you going to kill me with those killer words of yours." Marc replied.

"Just shut up and let's join with others they are moving out." I replied.

We all started moving and everyone was checking upon their surroundings. Garrick and Ryan, being the core stones, were in the front and I chose to stay in the back because Marc was not trusted by others but Marc's thinking could save us at time.

After all of this I was finally able to see all the destruction that happened while I was only focused on surviving my view over the surroundings was greatly reduced. I was only thinking about whether their was anyone watching me and not on the actual area.

I could now see the fallen buildings, broken cars, a strong smell of the dead bodies also some foot prints. I saw the number of monsters and the number of people that died it was a lot.

I thought if these many people had died then we must have seen some bodies but their were none and also the smell was like their were bodies but taken from this are some days go.

While saying this I realised that the number of monsters and people who died are mismatched.

I told this to Marc and he was shocked too but he said this must be some trick of Seth to prevent us from understanding the situation happening around us and to make us panic.

Well, he was not half wrong on it. It could mean anything. But if what I see is the truth, then that means their are people who are actually killing those monsters. That's something I would be glad to hear about.

We walked and walked for hours now but no life was found. We saw a few monsters lurking around the fallen buildings but none of them noticed us and they left on their way.

I was surprised not to see any life then Garrick signals to stop. He must have found something. Then we saw that there were some traps which had dried blood on them. With this we understand that we are in the territory of some other group and now we have to stay more focused on our way.

It was not just about the traps there could be people too.

"That's what you might be thinking." said Marc.

"What?" I asked.

"That their must be people out here looking over us." Marc replied.

"How do. Wait a minute just because my focus is diverting you are using your relic don't you." I asked.

"Well yes but I also thought the same thing that's why I wanted to confirm if it is just me or anyone else is thinking like this." Marc replied.

"You could just have told me on face rather than going through all this trouble." I said.

"Oh! So sweet of you." Marc replied.

"Wait! Garrick Their is someone close to us. He is watching over us." said Marc.

"State it clearly. What did you find?" asked Garrick.

"I heard someone saying about the location of ambushing us. This could be some other group watching over on us." Marc replied.

"Understood. Everyone stay on guard and look around and see for anything that could give us their location." said Garrick.

After that we walked and our group members started to say that "no one is around why we have to listen to this freak this must be his trick."

They already did not trust Marc so their reactions are understandable but they should not let their guard down.

Suddenly I felt someone was here. At the same moment Marc stopped to also Garrick gave the signal to stop because there were many traps in front of us then in just moments a few people surrounded us and we were trapped in it.

One of them tried to attack us but without a doubt in my mind I attacked him. I killed one of them without thinking twice about it. All this made it clear to everyone that to survive we can't hesitate for a single moment or it could be our last moment.
