Chapter 20

Everyone was breathing extremely heavily, Koryu was out of energy due to 3 fights in one day and Felix had used more of Ravi than he should have. Dragon Knight coughed up his own blood as some of the transformation started to leave his body, only showing the head and both arms. This was only a partial part of Dragon Knight. He started limping towards his briefcase trying to get a bag of blood he always kept with him just for situations like this. Although The Black Dragon Devil was strong, Ryuki was still inexperienced after all these years. Nobody had taught him how to fight as Dragon Knight and when it came to intense fights like these against formidable opponents he 100% struggled. Before he was able to reach his bag he stumbled falling onto the ground as his body was beginning to bleed out.

Koryu: "We-" he was breathing so heavily that he thought was going to pass out "A-arent y-your enemy!"

Koryu's voice was agitated and was mostly of anger, as he tried to speak to Ryuki.

Dragon Knight turned to Koryu and just looked at him. He didn't speak for a moment, continuing to stare then-.

Partial Dragon Knight: "I was, wr-ong."

Dragon Knight made his way to the bag of blood and opened it drinking from it and replenishing his strength again to the maximum degree

Dragon Knight slowly faded away and revealed Ryuki once again. Unexpectedly he got down to his knees bowing fully, apologizing to the two he just attempted to kill.

(Writers note: getting down fully on your knees in Japanese is the most sincere form of apology, reserved for extreme forgiveness)

Ryuki: "Please forgive me for this misunderstanding"

Koryu and Felix continued to hold their weapons up, this had to be some trick! This guy tries to kill them and now he asks for forgiveness?!

Ryuki: "Velkhana, and Ravi". He attempted to recall any information he knew about the Heat Devil… and the Cold Devil as well… those names are not connected at all.

Koryu: "You get it now- don't you. We aren't the ones you're looking for!"

Felix nodded, beginning to stand up while helping Koryu stand on his two feet.

Ryuki: "I understand that. Velkhana and Ravi are not the Cold and Heat Devil but have different fears instead. I jumped to conclusions after seeing the elements you two possessed. Once again, I apologize for my actions."

Did Ryuki have zero social skills? He just tried to kill two innocent people and now is trying to talk to them normally. Just then, it felt like a clock was ticking in the mind of all three of them. As someone appeared on the roof above them.

???: "You are correct, Velkhana is the fear of ice, and Felix's Devil is pure incineration."

The figure then revealed herself jumping down to the alleyway in between all three of them, devil hunters staying above protecting whoever this woman was.

???: "Suoh, you must understand that attempting to kill an innocent teenager and one of my top devil hunters is something I can't forgive."

The woman continued to walk forward showing no fear of Ryuki or what he was capable of.

???: "But, Dragon Knight protecting Tokyo legally can serve a good purpose, and if you could help us take down another threat like the egg devil again. I may be willing to overlook this incident"

She then held out her hand for a handshake. One that accommodated Ryuki's arm.

Ryuki was hesitant, he didn't exactly know who this woman was, and making a deal just like that would make him a fool.

???: "Ah, perhaps I should Identify myself"

The woman curtseyed and then held up a badge with an id card on it.
