Goodbye Themescyria part 1

"When your arsenal consists of only a hammer, everything begins to look like a nail." Princess Diana of Themescyria

Third pov

The halls of the Themescyrian palace were full of cheer as the Amazons feasted after the tournament, celebrating the new champion as well as the magnificent display of strength and skills shown by all the contestants.

Diana and Daikon were sitting opposite one another, scarfing down piles of food as dozens of empty bowls and plates lay next to each of them.

"I still can't believe I lost. How did you manage to overpower so badly? Have you been holding back that much in our spars because that's insulting Daikon?" Diana said in a bitter voice.

"No Diana I wouldn't look down on you so thoroughly, even if you are weak." Daikon replied in a sly voice, a mocking smirk making its way onto his face.

"Weak am I? You're begging for a beating, Daikon, but joking aside, what was that? Your eyes turned yellow for a bit. I remember that clearly." Diana's intrigue was not lost on anyone.

"It was a transformation I have yet to fully master. I thought I'd mastered it when I was able to compress the power of my great ape form into my smaller frame without transforming into a great ape. It was called the wrathful transformation translated, with Ikari being the Sayian term for it. This transformation gives the same 10 times multiplayer, but in my humanoid form."

Daikon broke down the transformation of his as more and more ears were drawn to the conversation the two were having with a certain American very invested in learning all he could.

"You said you thought you mastered it. I'm assuming you still have some kinks in it," Diana replied as she tore off a chunk of the massive stick of meat she was holding.

"Yes, it seems I can't sustain it for more than 5 seconds, or I'd risk transforming into my ape form. I was set to master this back on Sadala before; well, it blew up." Diakon said his voice was dangerously low, and at the end of his statement, his eyes darkened.

"Right, I'm sorry about that, Daikon, so have you got any ideas on how to master it further?" Diana asked as she reached over and placed her hand on his shoulder as she tried to comfort him.

"No, I think I'll just have to expose myself to the great ape form more; that's all I can think of. This and instant transmission are two of the skills I still need to learn for my mastery of the ki techniques of my family," Daikon replied, sounding dejected as he drank soup silently.

"I see instant transmission as in the technique for teleportation by locking onto a ki signature," Diana replied, sounding enthusiastic as she talked about the technique.

"Yes, exactly that. How do you know of it exactly, Diana?" Diakon asked in a surprised tone of voice.

"Found a scroll about it in the library in the palace on all things related to Sayians," Diana said as she puffed out her chest a bit, sounding pleased with herself.

"Oh, that must have been the scroll left by Gine; she was trying to master the same technique herself." Artimes spoke softly, her voice filled with nostalgia and, at the same time, heavy with loss.

"I see. I would like to read that scroll if you wouldn't mind," Daikon said as he tore into another plate of lamb meat.

"Sure, I will see if Alexa can dig that up for you. Where is she anyway? I haven't seen her at all today," Diana spoke as she chugged down some juice.

"Who knows, probably with her nose in a book somewhere," Artemis replied as she stole some muttonchops off Diana's plate.

"Artemis, what in Heras name are you doing?" Diana replied in an indignant voice.

"What you weren't eating, it's better not to waste food," Artemis replied playfully.

"I was saving that for last, you ginger goblin," Diana shouted, her voice filled with fury as she grabbed up the bowl of soup at Artimes side and chugged it down.

"Diana, how dare you?" Artemis replied, her voice furious in equal weight as Dianas.

"What? It's better not to waste food," Diana replied as she stuck out her tongue at the firey-haired woman.

"That's my favourite soup. I was saving it, you brat." Artimes shouted as the two stared, sizing each other up.

"Must you two always bicker? Artimes, you're thousands of years old. Stop bickering like a child and act your age, Hera. I swear I'm surrounded by children." Phillippus chided in her voice, laced with disappointment, showing her immense annoyance at the firey-haired Amazon.

"Speaking of this library, I too would like to visit it before I am to leave the island." Steve said his voice was anxious as much as he tried to hide it.

"Typical human," Daikon gruffed out.

"Hey, what is that supposed to mean?" Steve replied furiously.

"Daikon, try not to be rude; it is a time of celebration," Diana said as she tried to defuse the situation.

Diakon just sighed and continued his meal, ignoring the angry human as he continued to chat with Artemis.

"Hey, don't you ignore me, you oversized monkey. I want to know what's your beef with me." Steve shouted at Daikon; he had clearly snapped after two weeks of Daikon's ridicule and snide remarks and comments, not noticing he was beginning to draw many eyes upon himself and his whole table as even the bustle of the hall couldn't drown out his voice.

"I don't have a problem with you; you're not important enough for me to. I simply detest your species. Call me a monkey again, and I will rip out your spine." Diakon said coldly; his eyes narrowed as he started staring a hole through Steve.

"Diakon, please refrain from violent threats, and Steve, you are a guest. Do not insult our ally or hospitality with crude insults," Diana said, trying to reign the two in

"I apologise, Princess Diana, but I do wish to know why he seems to hate humans," Steve said, having calmed down significantly after realising his position.

"Hating would imply I care; I merely have a very low opinion of your species," Daikon replied calmly, still eating.

"Oh now I'd like to enquire as to why you do we Amazons have our reasons for having a low opinion of man's world, but why do you Daikon?" Artemis replied intrigued as she looked at the Sayian next to her.
