Chapter 15: The Shameless Fox

As Mateo left, Clara, carrying a basket, ventured out to find useful items. The difficulty of finding stone needles was too high. Rope? She could collect some weavable grass and make her own. Then, she'd cut a few bamboo shoots. Clara became more excited as she thought about having her own personal space in the future.

The harvest was good. The vast forest seemed like an endless treasure trove. Clara could find everything she wanted, and she even found flax, which she could later turn into threads for making clothes. She also gathered numerous seeds and some seedlings. Based on her instincts, she wasn't sure exactly what she could grow, but she would plant them and see what sprouted.

Not familiar with the woods, Clara didn't dare to wander too far. She circled around near her home, went to the bamboo grove, and used a small knife to carve out a few poles.

"Do it yourself and you'll have plenty!" Clara proudly dragged her findings back.

"Little female beast!" Halfway there, Clara heard someone calling her. Who could it be?

"Heartless little female beast, enduring so many scratches for you." A seductive creature emerged from the bamboo grove.

A fox! With ears and a tail just like Dani's! But this was a male fox, and naked again! Clara was now quite composed. He was more delicate than a girl, with a slender body, slightly on the thin side, a fox spirit! Probably what people meant by this type!

Clara was taken aback. She didn't know this fox. From what she heard, the foxes in the tribe were all females. Could he be the submissive one? It seemed likely, but it was hard to tell! The animal world is something else!

The fox smirked, flicking his furry tail, and slapped Clara's buttocks, acting like a rogue! Startled, Clara dropped the bamboo she was carrying and glared at the fox, saying, "What are you doing! I don't know you."

"How can you treat me like this? I am Thomas!" The fox exaggeratedly wailed, then pretended to cry.

"Do you remember that night? The brave and handsome fox, little female beast, I really missed you. Today, come back to the fox den with your brother!" The fox tried to climb up.

Fox den! Clara remembered now. There was a fox that helped her that night, but he also had malicious intentions. His name was Thomas, Clara picked up the bamboo and ignored him, heading home.

"The fragrant little female beast, I came to save you. Lions are not good people. Come back home with your brother. Your brother will take good care of you." Thomas approached and lifted Clara's waist.

So slender, so soft. Thomas's heart stirred, and he got aroused. Clara screamed, "You damn fox! Shameless fox! Let go!"

Thomas had roamed the jungle for so many years, and females usually liked sweet talk and physical contact. This female's reaction was way too intense, and he liked it. But why did she kick him? Thomas cried out in pain, holding his lower region, tears streaming down his face.

The commotion attracted Gloria, who was nearby picking fruits. She rushed over, seeing a stranger entangling Clara. Then, Clara actually kicked down that creature!

"Wow! Clara is so powerful!" Gloria admired greatly. She ran up to check if Clara was okay.

Clara saw Thomas writhing in pain on the ground and felt a bit guilty. After all, he had helped her, and she didn't want to kick him to the point of injury. "Tomy ! Are you okay?" Slip of the tongue! Clara felt a bit embarrassed.

Thomas was pleasantly surprised. What was Tomy? He didn't understand. But the little female still cared about him. He was so touched. Right, the little female seemed to be called Clara!

Ah! This kind little female who could barbecue. He must take her home! He tried to climb up again, but a shout from Gloria scared him back. This female was really fierce. Clara was better!

Clara, seeing that Thomas was fine, felt relieved. Ignoring the acting-out Thomas, she grabbed Gloria and headed home.

Once home, Clara got busy, and Gloria eagerly joined to help. With Gloria's assistance, things naturally went smoother. After shaving the bamboo, weaving it into frames with prepared flax ropes, and setting up a stand, Clara took out the pre-prepared animal skins. She then improvised a needle with a sharp end using bamboo. It might not compare to iron needles, but it was better than nothing.

Gloria helped out, and Clara, dressed in flax, started sewing the animal skins. These were skins from small animals; she couldn't bear to use the zebra skin just yet—it was reserved for making clothes in the future.

Sewing the animal skins onto the bamboo frame, a wild and stylish screen was completed. Though far from high-end customization, Clara couldn't help but feel satisfied. This was the first piece of furniture in this home.

Gloria didn't understand what it was for! She was puzzled for a while. When the two carried the screen into the house, Clara demonstrated its use. Gloria finally understood—it could be used for privacy! Clara was so clever! Gloria wanted to make one too.

Clara shaved a few more bamboo needles and gave them to Gloria. Gloria became more interested in the knife in Clara's hand, pointing and asking what it was.

"This is a knife, made of iron." As soon as iron was mentioned, Clara became anxious. She needed to make an iron pot to drink soup. These days, she had been drinking cold water every day, not knowing how many times she had stomachaches. Speaking of stomachaches, it made her uncomfortable again. No toilet paper, no latrine!

Living like a wild person these days!

Need to handle these things one by one as quickly as possible.

Clara gave some jerky to Gloria again. Last time, the would-be gift was stolen by a sneaky thief. In these few days, she roasted quite a bit, both sweet and salty.

It was Gloria's first time seeing this, and after tasting a piece, it was so delicious that her feathers stood on end. She licked Clara and said, "Clara teaches Gloria how to make jerky!"

Unfortunately, there was no fresh meat left; it had all been turned into jerky. Clara explained to Gloria how to make it and even showed her the heated stone. Gloria nodded, seeming to understand, saying she would try it back home. Clara accompanied her to the stream to find a suitable stone.

By the water's edge, Clara saw rocks of all sizes. Suddenly, she thought, why not make a stone pot! With a stone pot, she could cook something.

Strike the iron while it's hot! Look around the fast-flowing water, Clara climbed to the waterfall area. Quite coincidentally, she spotted a concave stone. It could be used to cook a pot of soup, enough for three or four people. It just needed a bit of simple processing.

Clara called Gloria over to help. Her strength was indeed too small, and Clara secretly decided to exercise and not be so weak. Only the strong could live better here, and she wanted to become a strong one.

Gloria carried the big stone, and Clara helped with the stone slab. Well, that's the difference between humans and animals!

In the evening, Mateo returned, seemingly not in a good mood. He sat on a dirt mound, staring at his own feet, then looked at Clara's feet. He remembered the scene from earlier when everyone was praising the grass shoes on Rowan's feet.

But he had seen them on Clara's feet a few days ago. She must have taught Gloria, and then Gloria made them for Rowan. Clara didn't make them for him. The more he thought about it, the more aggrieved he felt. A strange emotion surged in his heart, and he wanted to find something to vent it.
