Dark Rose : The Hidden Enchantress

''Who are you?" She questioned, visibly irritated at having an unexpected "guest" in her room in the middle of the night. The invader was slouching over the window, gazing out at the starless night, which was only lit by stars. Alas! It was a moonless night. He very slackly stood straight after hearing her frustrated voice and sauntered over to her with his face concealed behind the black mask. Only his foxy eyes were visible, staring at her with admiration and a dreamy expression. He chuckled a little. Her jaw tightened in response to his action. He was definitely getting on her nerves. "What are you? A woman parading down a ramp?" His eyes sparkled at her despite her mocking him. "No. However, I can be that person for you. Would you like me to-" While saying this, he began to take his top off. She became increasingly frustrated at his indecent acts as his tight muscles tentatively peeked through it. Was this man perverted!? Yes, he was. "What on earth are you doing in my room!?" He couldn't be an easy guy to just walk into her room and get past the complicated security measures her family had installed in place, so she inquired again. He must have been extremely clever and powerful to be able to thwart it. But he didn't appear to be an assassin; rather, he had the appearance of a hunter who was out in search of his quarry. "Honey, you broke my heart." In front of her, bending in her direction, he said. "Who is your honey? Get the hell out of here." Angered, she yelled at the stranger. She glared ferociously at him, warning him not to try anything, as a tiny ball of golden light erupted on her palm. He chuckled softly at her and clasped her hand in his, pushing her to bed. He hovered above her, confining her to the bed and intertwining her hands above her head. "How can you push me away from you? Hmm. My love." He inquired, touching her face with his knuckles. "What the hell are you doing?" she demanded struggling, her face contorted in a rage. "I am adoring my wife." Upon hearing him say that, her eyes rebounded to their hue of color. "Who is your wife?" "You are since you possess my CREST." Her breathing halted and she became pale after hearing this. "You can't hide it from me." He spoke, tracing her neck with his veiled nose. "I'll be back soon to take you soon, I promise." Saying, he pecked her lips over his mask and faded into thin air, and the world around her gradually darkened.

Chapter 3

Beep beep beep...

"She is truly lucky that she got saved."

"I heard she was in the back seat."

"But the girl with her. Her condition is very serious and on top of that she is pregnant."

"Yeah, it is very critical, and a senior doctor is coming but none of them had reached here until."

"Alas! Only a miracle can save that poor girl."

Ruzena heard all types of muttering and whispering. She tried to open her eyes but she couldn't. It was very hard.

She tried once again and she succeeded this time.

She steadily opened her eyes. Her eyes came in contact with the white ceiling and the smell of disinfectant and medicine invaded her senses causing her to scrunch her nose in disgust.

She hates this smell.

"Oh! You are awake."

She heard a voice and looked to her left. A nurse stood in her hospital attire smiling at her but she didn't reciprocate it.

"You didn't have any internal injuries except some wounds over your head and some scratches."

The nurse checked the vitals and wrote something on the paper she had in her hand. Ruzena looked at the IV drip attached to the hand. She touched her head and a bandage was wrapped around her head.

"How is that girl who was with me?"

Ruzena asked the nurse. Her hoarse voice made the nurse, hand her a glass of water. Her nose twitched in anticipation of the answer.

"She is in critical condition. She will be undergoing an operation soon. But right now we tried to stabilize her."

The nurse informed and turned to leave stopping when Ruzena questioned again sucking her breath in perturbation.

"What about her baby?"

The nurse sighed and turned, "The accident was big but you were lucky to come out with minor injuries but your friend..." She paused a little and continued. "Your friend was in the driving seat and due to the collision few pieces of glass shreds had pierced in her skin. One even was near her belly so we couldn't say anything about the baby until the senior doctor instruct us."

The nurse explained and left her alone to drown in her guilt trip.

If it wasn't for her Faye would have been safe and sound. If only she could have used her vehicle. She cried out in pain.

How selfish she could get. The only person who was by her side in this grave situation because of her.

The smiling face of Faye and Max appeared in front of her eyes. They were so happy when they got the news of her pregnancy. Faye even went crazy with a shopping spree for baby stuff and dragged her along.

One fine day, Faye even went a step ahead and made Ruzena the godmother of her baby. Taking the promise to protect her baby if its parents are there or not.

But now that baby. She choked up. She didn't even know if that little life would survive. Because she was the cause of why the little life was in this condition. Trying to survive to open its eyes to this cruel world.

Her guilty thoughts came to a halt when the door of her ward burst open and an angry Max marched his way inside.

"How could you do this?"

He asked furiously. His eyes were red in rage and his fist clenched.

'Did he get to know the reason for the accident?'

Ruzena thought and looked at him with an emotionless face but her red teary eyes betrayed her.

"How can you let her drive when you knew how hyperactive she is?"

Max pointed his accusing eyes and finger at her. If only she could have driven the car instead of Faye then the scenario might be different.

"If only I knew this was going to happen I wouldn't have let her drive."

Ruzena said lowly in a disheartened tone. Fu*k if only she knew. Her friend couldn't have been in that condition.

"If I got to know that something is fishy in this accident and if the target was someone else and Faye was dragged along then I won't let that culprit live an extra day."

Max warned because he wasn't stupid to notice the previous assassin's attacks on Ruzena. And he had the gut feeling that it accident had some connection with Ruzena.

Ruzena sat motionless. She didn't say anything nor argued with him.

He had already warned Faye to stay away from her but she couldn't follow him up because she treated Ruzena as her sister.

"From now, stay away from her. Take it as my last warning."

Max stormed out after warning her.

Max's appearance intensified her guilt more than anything else right now. She can still clearly recall Faye's words to her when they first met.

"You're so heartless yet so full of feelings."

Because Faye was the only person who could tolerate her odd mood swings and has stuck by her to this day. Otherwise, her other friends have long abandoned her.

If not for Faye she would have spent her this lifetime alone without any friend.

Two hours later.

A stretcher rolled out as the door to the operating room creaked wide.

"The operation was a success."

The senior doctor informed Max, who exhaled with relief when he noticed the baby bump was still intact. His enquiring gaze followed the doctor as he answered questions.

"Both the mother and the child are safe. Despite the significant blood loss, nothing went wrong concerning the baby. It truly was a miracle. The baby and the mother both survived a major accident. The infant is undoubtedly a fighter."

As he spoke, the doctor touched his shoulder. Max cried with joy. His little family was safe. He thanked God multiple times and followed his unconscious lover, expecting her to propose marriage shortly.

When she heard the doctor, Ruzena exhaled a breath of relief. She was a little out of Max's line of sight because of her distance. A little smile curled up and reached her eyes.

The only thing left to do at this point was to capture the person who was responsible for this grave accident.

Her eyes burned with rage. She won't stop until she has personally slit that scum's throat. She swore it.

An unexpected figure suddenly loomed in front of her as she turned to walk away.

Seeing him, there was a drastic change in Ruzena's appearance.
