Dark Rose : The Hidden Enchantress

''Who are you?" She questioned, visibly irritated at having an unexpected "guest" in her room in the middle of the night. The invader was slouching over the window, gazing out at the starless night, which was only lit by stars. Alas! It was a moonless night. He very slackly stood straight after hearing her frustrated voice and sauntered over to her with his face concealed behind the black mask. Only his foxy eyes were visible, staring at her with admiration and a dreamy expression. He chuckled a little. Her jaw tightened in response to his action. He was definitely getting on her nerves. "What are you? A woman parading down a ramp?" His eyes sparkled at her despite her mocking him. "No. However, I can be that person for you. Would you like me to-" While saying this, he began to take his top off. She became increasingly frustrated at his indecent acts as his tight muscles tentatively peeked through it. Was this man perverted!? Yes, he was. "What on earth are you doing in my room!?" He couldn't be an easy guy to just walk into her room and get past the complicated security measures her family had installed in place, so she inquired again. He must have been extremely clever and powerful to be able to thwart it. But he didn't appear to be an assassin; rather, he had the appearance of a hunter who was out in search of his quarry. "Honey, you broke my heart." In front of her, bending in her direction, he said. "Who is your honey? Get the hell out of here." Angered, she yelled at the stranger. She glared ferociously at him, warning him not to try anything, as a tiny ball of golden light erupted on her palm. He chuckled softly at her and clasped her hand in his, pushing her to bed. He hovered above her, confining her to the bed and intertwining her hands above her head. "How can you push me away from you? Hmm. My love." He inquired, touching her face with his knuckles. "What the hell are you doing?" she demanded struggling, her face contorted in a rage. "I am adoring my wife." Upon hearing him say that, her eyes rebounded to their hue of color. "Who is your wife?" "You are since you possess my CREST." Her breathing halted and she became pale after hearing this. "You can't hide it from me." He spoke, tracing her neck with his veiled nose. "I'll be back soon to take you soon, I promise." Saying, he pecked her lips over his mask and faded into thin air, and the world around her gradually darkened.

Chapter 2

Inside a dark room.

A female was sprawled out on the floor, and there were beer cans all around her. It almost completely encircled her. She was coiled up in the fetus posture.

She was muttering something in her sleep. Her right hand gripped the area around her heart strongly. Her face contorted in agony, as though she were in excruciating pain over there.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

She awoke from her deep slumber with a loud scream.

Her body was drenched in perspiration, and her breathing was labored. She looked at her surroundings and regained her senses.

It was her bedroom. She took a long breath out and rubbed her stiff neck.

She stretched a little as she sluggishly rose up. She let out a groan; her back was in profound discomfort. It ached because she had slept all night on the cold floor.

She wouldn't be surprised if she got some black and blue bruises all over her back. Her feet moved in the direction of the big window. The thick drapes started to split as soon as she pressed the control.

The previously dark, cold, and dull room seemed comforting thanks to the sun's rays that broke through the slats.

Her eyes automatically closed in response to the unexpected influx of brightness. The bright rays had temporarily blinded her for a few seconds before she softly opened her eyes, her pupils adapting to the intensity of the light.

Her bright brown eyes gleamed in the sunshine, creating the appearance that they were golden. But it was only an illusion, a fabrication. She had shown to the entire world.

Her eyes burned, and she gingerly removed the contact lenses she had neglected to take out the night before. Her once golden brown eyes had taken on a blue hue. That was her natural shade of eyes.

The Aqua Blue.

Due to the extensive sun exposure, she experienced while hanging out with her friend, her dusky skin tone shone radiantly beneath the sun. It wasn't her decision, but her friend coerced her with her award-winning acting skills.

When a sudden pain hit her, she rubbed her head in frustration. She cursed herself and uttered every obscene word she was aware of. Because the hangover hurt like a b*tch.

She looked around her room while scrunching up her nose in disdain.

Her room was simple and plain. With a master bed, closet on the other side, and a little couch along the window. With the exception of a few essentials, her room—no, her entire house was vacant.

Whenever her friend came around. She will make fun of and tease her saying.

"I can play football in your home,"

"Since the area is so big and empty, let's hold a relay race."

And the snarky remarks continue.

She tugged her hair in frustration and considered taking a bath before cleaning her room. It was just six o'clock in the morning, and her office doesn't open until nine o'clock. She therefore had plenty of time before then.

She struggled to recall her dream, which was now just vaguely in her mind as she stood under the frigid waters.

Despite her best efforts, she was unable to recall the features of the persons she had seen, with the exception of their vividly expressive eyes, which she was able to clearly pick out.

Every time she felt anxious or strained, she would have these vivid visions. She would get these dreams like a flashback as if she was connected to them somehow but she didn't know how.

She pondered seeing a psychologist, but the doctor simply stated that it could be because she didn't have an enduring bond with her close one, which caused her to fantasize about something exquisite.

She thought about it on multiple occasions before when she first began to have them, but as time passed, she brushed aside it and the dreams ceased, but alas, it happened again yesterday.

She apparently sparred with her family yesterday, and then she got a carton of beers and drank herself until she couldn't anymore.

It was already a quarter past seven when she emerged from the restroom.

She put those thoughts aside and went about doing her housework and getting dressed for work.

It was already half past eight by the time she got ready. She grabbed her takeout and ran out of the penthouse, taking the elevator.

The lift opened in the underground parking lot, and a car unannounced stopped in front of her, causing her to glare at the driver.

"Would you like to accompany me, sweetheart?"

A flirtatious remark reverberated throughout.

The moment the window came down, a woman's face emerged, her sunglass rims dropped slightly low to reveal her cat-like eyes. She was Faye. Her sole and closest friend.

Ruzena glanced at her wristwatch. She was already running behind schedule, so hitching a ride will be an appropriate choice.

Quickly opening the door, she leaped onto the back seat. Faye gave her a scowl.

"I'm not your freaking chauffeur."

After spouting and starting the car, Faye took note of the items in Ruzena's. Her understanding that her best friend was unquestionably late was not challenging.

"What did you do last night? You appear so terrible."

She made a remark and then turned. The mirror's reflection caught Ruzena's attention. She did appear awful, with her black under eyes and drooping cheeks.

She chewed on her meal and then brushed her hair. Three nibbles were all it took to finish the sandwich. She sipped the kiwi smoothie while donning some makeup to hide her ghostly appearance.

She didn't want to terrify the staff or employees because she had a board meeting to attend.

"I was drinking,"

Keeping everything in the bag, Ruzena told her.

Faye glared at her accusingly, asking how she could leave her behind while she went out and had fun.

"Don't give me that look. Remember, you're pregnant."

"You and Max only care about the baby", Faye said with a sneer as her lips curled in resentment. "What about me? Nobody loves me anymore."

She pouted. Ruzena laughed. Because Faye's pregnancy was a little complex, so Ruzena and Faye's boyfriend Max had to take extra care of her, which eventually irked her.

They were too preoccupied joking around to notice the truck approaching. By the time Ruzena realized it was already late because the truck crashed with the car, causing the car to rotate and roll over the road.

"Faye!!!"

Ruzena screamed anxiously.

She caught a glimpse of the driver who appeared to be grinning slightly at what he was doing. Her thoughts raced, and it didn't take her long to realize that it wasn't an accident, but rather her well-planned murder.

His target was her, but Faye.

No, it couldn't be. For goodness' sake, her friend was pregnant. Ruzena could only see the bloody mess surrounding her due to how powerful the impact was.

Although she struggled, her leg was trapped under the seat. She was immobile, and her mind turned fuzzy. In order to help Faye, she extended her hand. But Faye had already lost consciousness.

The last thing she saw was Faye's lifeless face, and blood was trickling from her brow.

The distant roar of the crowd encompassed her senses, and she quickly lost consciousness, embracing the darkness to engulf her.
