Chapter 13 - Selfish Humans

After the food, Skalain felt alive.

"I should go upstairs to see my room."

Skalain closed the door to his room at the Black Beer Inn, his eyes scanning the simple yet tidy furnishings.

The modest bed, the wooden table, and the small washbasin all exuded a sense of cleanliness and practicality.

"I did not have time to look at my room as I slept directly."

"It is better than I thought."

As Skalain placed his treasured tomes on the table, his thoughts began to wander. The encounters he had with humans throughout his life made him a vengeful individual.

He does not want to harbor any ill intentions towards to anyone. But it seems like his soul was harmed enough to not to be repaired. His ill intent and motives towards to human race have endless animiosity. Of course, if it was only towards to evil people it may work.

But it was not.

With a sigh, Skalain approached the washbasin, filled with cool water.

As he dipped his hands into the refreshing liquid and splashed it onto his face.

"Humans... They are so limited in their perceptions. Their fear blinds them; they are all selfish and greedy creatures. I don't think they are different here."

Skalain remembered some memories of his past life on Earth. The times that he was hurt, the times that he was about to get molested

"Now, here I have the power to change my destiny and everything."

Skalain commented as he took a deep breath to calm himself.

He paused for a moment, the sound of water dripping echoing in the room, and gazed at his reflection in the small mirror above the washbasin.

"I will not let their ignorance dampen my spirit. I am blessed with the gift of magic and knowledge beyond their understanding. It is my duty to explore and harness this power, to unlock its secrets."

"So that I would not be oppressed and hurt again..."

As Skalain dried his face with a clean cloth, he reminded himself of the importance of perseverance. He knew that his path as a mage was often a lonely one, fraught with challenges and misunderstandings.

"I remember everything from my past life."

"How humans were never at peace, always looking to find ways to destroy others even in times of abundance."

Skalain's eyes turned serious, and anger can be traced in them with ease.

Skalain returned to the table, his fingers gently tracing the worn spines of his tomes.

"These tomes are my allies, my companions on this journey."

"I should keep on reading and learning."

Skalain settled down at the table, his mind already racing with questions and theories. As he delved into the depths of his studies, he let go of the disdain he felt towards the human world, focusing instead on the endless possibilities that magic offered.

In that room, with its modest furnishings and the promise of enlightenment,

"I should start working on the information depicted on the tomes."

"I believe that there is more to sorcery knowledge than the abilities I have myself."

"I should also seek out more organizations that would give me the knowledge I seek."
