Custom monster system

I would like to make it clear first that there will be absolutely NO romance in this story so don't ask for it because i will ignore those comments. also the alternate story starts from chapter sixty eight if you just want to skip the old short story. No one ever expects to be reborn with a system despite the many tales of precisely that happening. alex certainly was no exception to this rule despite finding himself reborn into a world with monsters considered gods by some as a lowly gecko with a system. The alternate story starts on chapter 68 in case you wish to skip to the part that is still continuing. (Cover by HoracioGui)

Mistosis and firepower

Alex still had both of the elements that made up this new one so he could still use his T7 flames and T4 water but this new trait started at T5 which he figured was due to the requirement to get it. Having two conflicting elements was obviously extremely rare considering the only monsters that were known to have it were apex level elder dragons like alatreon or shantien. Having more than one element was common in elder dragons but most of the time those elements don't clash. Alex wasn't surprised that there were a few species that likely had this trait which is why it was merely legendary rather than unique.

He didn't waste the unexpected gain either as over the next few days he experimented with this new trait and he quickly figured out how broken it was. To start with he found that he could vaporize his venom causing the very air around him to turn poisonous. Even more terrifying was that after the mist left his body it didn't dissipate very fast at all with a small cloud the size of a basketball taking nearly an hour to fully go away.

Alex tested his range with the mist by pushing the trait as hard as he could to produce as much as possible. Two whole miles of the forest was filled with the thick white fog when he was done meaning that anything within that range that breathed would be basically fucked if he made it poisonous instead. This wasn't the only way the trait worked either or else Alex would have been very disappointed. No , Alex could actually increase the temperature and density of the mist basically making him capable of spewing super hot steam that was enough to instantly cause burns on stronger monsters like rathalos.

The only real weakness that Alex found the new element to have was strong winds that he could only helplessly watch blow away the mist easily. Sure he could just continuously pump out more mist but his reserves of elemental energy weren't limitless and the trait was a glutton for the stuff. "Now that there is a fine ability to have." the head smith said when Alex was hanging out in the smithy showing off his new elements. 'Yeah , I wasn't expecting to get it either when I adapted to the fire element.' Alex admitted.

"Maybe but damned if it won't make finding you in all that smoke a right pain in the ass." the burly man said with chuckle. "You got me curious anyways lad , how hot can you make them flames of yours?" the man asked with a curious expression. Alex thought about it for a moment and frowned 'you know I've never actually tested that now that you mention it.' Alex said honestly. 'How hot can that forge over there handle?' He asked seriously. The smith rubbed his chin in thought "I reckon it shouldn't have too much trouble handling whatever you've got." he said after a few moments.

'Want to put that to the test?' Alex asked seriously. The man laughed "Aye! I'll fix it if you somehow manage to melt it down." he said and had the others move the other equipment away from the front of the forge to give Alex the room t stand there. Alex stood with his head a couple of feet from the mouth of the forge and began to gather the fire element into his mouth but didn't release it making it condense. Once he felt that he couldn't hold it anymore alex opened his mouth and belched out a gout of bright blue fire with hints of white mixed in directly into the furnace.

The heat in the smithy went from very hot to the air itself burnt where ever the flame touched and in the same instant he released the fire Alex snapped his jaws closed and panted from exhaustion. The inside of the forge was in a sorry state as the top of it and the back that had been exposed to the most heat had melted considerably. Alex may not have destroyed the forge but he had obviously gotten very close with his max power flames.
