Awaking

Six Months Later...

Urgh.

I gaze out the window, my eyes locked onto the same Sakura tree that's greeted me every morning for the past 17 years…

Wait, what?

I open my eyes wide and try to throw myself into an upright position just to fail miserably. I blink a few times and realize that I am still in a 6-month-old body and obviously don't have the strength to throw myself upwards.

"Hehe..."

I try to laugh in a self-mocking kind of way but as always, it somehow comes out in a super cute baby way…

'Makes sense, I am a baby,' I think to myself. But before I can even get a second thought out, the door bursts open with enough force and sound to make even the most hardened war veteran flinch.

Boom.

I look at the doorframe to stare at the creature which so rudely interrupted my thoughts. But as my eyes fall upon her, a captivating vision of beauty and grace, it was her gaze that stole my breath away. Amidst her striking appearance—standing tall at an astounding 178 centimeters, her white hair cascading around her shoulders, and her lips painted a deep crimson—the most entrancing features were her eyes.

They were like twin orbs of intense cerulean, a vivid contrast to the rest of her appearance. Her eyes possessed a magnetic allure that held me in their thrall. Despite her mature charm, her gaze sparkled with youthful vitality, as if she were a university student.

But it was in those eyes that the true magic lay. They were deep pools of cerulean, like the boundless sea on a clear summer's day. Her eyes held a mystery that defied explanation, a depth that invited exploration. As they locked onto mine from the door frame, they seemed to hold the secrets of a thousand lifetimes, beckoning me into their enchanting embrace…

But all these thoughts stop the moment she opens her mouth.

She takes a deep breath and all but screams: "Baby!" and closes the distance between the door and crib at a speed which would make any short-distance sprinter look like a snail. Luckily, after 6 months of listening, I have gotten pretty fluent in Japanese and am able to understand what she is saying.

"Did you just laugh, baby? What are you thinking about, hmm? You thinking about your mom, hmm? Hmm? Of course you are. Come on, say Mama, baby, say MAMA."

Yeah, you probably think to yourself, 'What kind of stupid good-looking woman is this?' But don't let this look fool you as it did to me, because she is anything but dumb. Let me properly introduce you to this: This is Emiko White, or better known as Dr. E. White, a Ph.D. holder from Harvard University and a winner of two Nobel Prizes in medicine. She also has an IQ vastly exceeding 200 and is known throughout the world as the best doctor that has ever walked this earth.

"Come here, little Adam, let mama give you a hug."

Yeah, my name is Adam and my mouth slowly curls up into a warm smile. 'And this is my wonderful mother,' I think to myself, feeling incredibly proud of being her son…

'Now, you may think to yourself how I have figured this information about my mother out, all in just six months without leaving the house. Well, that's pretty easy to explain.'

Just as the infant wanted to start explaining, there were steps to be heard rushing through the hallway directly at this room, and just moments later, there he is: the hunk of a man standing at the doorframe with a smile that rivals All Might's at its shininess. Standing at a staggering 193 cm with black hair and round caring eyes…

'Let me also introduce you to... dad.'

What do you mean this is not enough of an introduction…

Sigh…yeah…I know, it's just that I haven't been able to get any other substantial information. I don't even know his name because mom just always calls him dad. Ok, listen, this…

I get cut off again, this time by a booming loud voice.

"Honey, are you playing with little Adam? Haah, such a wonderful view. How can somebody be so perfect, beautiful, intelligent, caring? Haah, Emiko, I love you so much."

'Yeah, I think this explains why I have so much information about my mother… because this old man just can't stop bragging about her… ok, let's be honest: with a wife like that, I would too.'

After a good while of mom baby-talking to me and dad bragging about how wonderful she is, they fed me and left me to sleep.

Sigh.

'This is so much to take in. I mean, I freaking reincarnated for real, like in all those fanfictions or anime and manga I watched. I mean, I still don't know if this is my old world or a new one, maybe even a fictional one, but one thing is for sure: I am going to use this advantage in full. Interestingly enough, I really love my parents…

What do you mean that's normal? Of course it is, it's just that I am already an adult inside, and while reading all these fanfictions, I couldn't understand how these adults in a children's body could take these strangers as their parents and from the get-go love them as if it is the most normal thing ever… but if it is in any way similar to my situation, I can kind of understand them.

Because even though my maturity is still mostly there, all these jumbled up memories in my head don't really feel like mine anymore; it's kind of hard to explain. So imagine that instead of living through your memories, you instead watch them in a TV show but from an omniscient perspective into the Main character's thoughts and emotions, yeah, that's about how this whole thing feels to me.

In other words, it is surprisingly obvious why I love my parents because in my mind, they are the first real interaction I had with any living being, cause everything else I have known is just a movie to me, except for a few exceptions…'

There are a few memories which don't feel like a movie, but I wouldn't want to think about them because I am in fear of an existential crisis, so hopefully I can just press them deep down into my subconsciousness.

Now, let's get back on topic: I am reincarnated, and I need to find out if this is the real world or if all those prayers of mine were really heard, and I am inside one of the many fictional worlds I would prefer living in…

The easiest way to figure this out would obviously be the internet… it's just that with this infant body, I can give up on anything that needs me to leave this crib on my own, so what other ways could I use…

Let's try to go through as many clues as possible. Number one, I am reincarnated, that's for sure, and my memories don't seem to fade away anymore since leaving the empty space, meaning I am probably in another world or I am the first case to reincarnate with memories in my home world... NO wait, there were so many rumors about supernatural stuff in my last life; maybe a few of those were real, meaning I could still be in the same world.

So, let's think about other clues…

I look around the room; my eyesight has barely stopped looking as if I were underwater, looking through glasses which are obviously way too strong for me.

Aha! So, it looks like any other modern room, meaning I am not in the Middle Ages or the far-far future. But who knows, maybe there was a big atomic war and civilization reset... Yeah, thinking with all these possibilities won't help me pinpoint what's going on now.

Just as I was thinking this, there is a loud sound from outside, and as I look through the window, there are two silhouettes moving at incredible speed outside in the dark. My underdeveloped eyes can barely discern their movements until they both stop, and I can see one of them standing still.

And then it hits me.

This figure, in a costume with yellow hair, standing on the street... It's... "F***ING ALL MIGHT!?"

"DETROIT SMAAASH!!!"
