Chapter 30: Blood Reaction

"What the hell?" Caspian frowned as he pinched his nose from the stench that emitted. The blood soon turned darker in color, but it had a tinge of bright yellow on it. He then grabbed one of the pills that Natalie gave him and swallowed it.

Abby couldn't help but knit her brows lightly as her supernatural nature tried to expose itself due to the somewhat attractive stench. She then stared at the corpse with a frown. She then thought, 'That looks like the liquid that the lesser vampire I fought against drank.'

"Before anything else, let me brief you about my findings," Scarlet said as she grabbed the clipboard that was lying on her desk.

She then looked at the notes, saying, "The victim also has Rh-null as her blood type, as I expected, but this time, the foreign blood that was added to her own managed to mix completely with her."

Caspian nodded after hearing the information. Scarlet glanced at Caspian with a solemn face as she continued, "During the time I tried mixing the blood of another victim that still had an Rh-null blood type that was sent here recently in a dish with the latest victim's blood on it, that reaction happened. I suspect that it had to do something with that foreign blood and having another mixed unto it."

"This didn't happen during the other corpses, but this one in particular just did that. I still don't know the cause, but we might have to send this corpse to a bigger institute or a research facility to identify it."

"Aside from that information, you have the lower jaw and parts of the lower body that had been obliterated, but it's still the same phenomenon with the explosion of the torso. There's also this weird bite mark similar to that of a snake on the shoulder, but aside from that, there's no other information. No secret photos, no nothing," Scarlet said with a tired sigh as she placed the clipboard back in its original position.

Caspian and Abby looked at each other and nodded. After that, Caspian was about to speak, but Abby spoke before him, "Ah, before anything else, can we have a sample of the blood that you mixed, Scarlet?"

"Huh? Oh, sure, no problem. But why do you need this?" Scarlet couldn't help but be skeptical.

Seeing that, Caspian decided to speak, "We need it to present information to Agent Ashwood and her organization. I'm sorry if it seems weird, but maybe I can talk with her, so we don't have to do it."

After hearing those words, Lisa on the side couldn't help but perk her ears up. Her face seemed to say that she was hearing something that she wasn't supposed to hear.

"I see. That's what you guys' agreed upon, so that means that's what I should do. After all, it's definitely not worth getting in trouble again because you didn't follow orders again," Scarlet said with a lab as she used two vials to contain some of the blood.

"I gave you two for safety measures."

Scarlet then handed the vials to Abby after securing a lid on them and carefully storing it in a plastic container. Abby graciously accepted it and held it tightly.

Caspian then thanked Scarlet sincerely. "Thank you for your hard work, Scarlet. Are you sure you aren't tired? You were drunk and disoriented earlier?"

Hearing that, Scarlet laughed as she replied with embarrassment evident in her voice, "You don't have to worry, haha. I have a fast recovery since I can only drink a little. I also act like I'm the toughest the world has ever seen, haha, it's really embarrassing."

Caspian and Abby couldn't help but laugh after hearing that since they personally saw how Scarlet acted back at the bar.

After that, Caspian and Abby finally said goodbye to Scarlet and Lisa as they left the lab. They then headed back to their car as Caspian gazed at Abby. A question was hovering in his mind, so after seeing that random people couldn't hear their conversation, he asked while starting the car, "Abby, why did you ask for a blood sample?"

Abby was observing the blood on the vials intently, so it took a while for her to reply. "This is definitely the same liquid that the lesser vampire I fought against drank."

"You mean?" Caspian was somewhat shocked as he remembered Abby saying that the liquid the lesser vampire drank temporarily increased his strength.

Abby just nodded as she said, "We have to contact the team and your mom. This must be sent to the bureau for further testing and investigation."

"Yeah, we should. We should head to my apartment for a private meeting," Caspian nodded in agreement as he drove toward his apartment while Abby contacted the others.

It didn't take long for them to arrive back home. They then headed to the apartment with haste as they saw the team already there. Seeing this, Caspian couldn't help but say with a wry tone, "How do you guys arrive before us every time?"

"Perks of being supernatural in a mission," Lucia said as she lit her cigarette. Noticing this, Caspian smiled bitterly as Lucia at least went outside to smoke at first, but this time she just started smoking inside the house.

As if reading his thoughts, Lucia replied, "It's just a little smoke, don't be a pussy about it. Now, spit the information; we don't have all day."

Caspian nodded as he looked at Abby. Abby then started to speak with a solemn expression, "We managed to find the liquid that the lesser vampire ingested."

Lucia and the others couldn't help but perk their ears as Natalie said with shock, "Really? If that's true, we might be able to stop 'Fallen' from collecting it and use it for ourselves. We'll be able to gain the edge over them if it ever leads to an all-out war."

Hearing Natalie's hopes, Abby smiled bitterly while saying, "Before that, you guys should take a look at it. But… the way they collect it… isn't exactly ethical."

She then grabbed the container, opened it, and showed the others the vial of blood. As she removed the lid of the vial, it was odorless for most of them, but to Natalie, who was a half-step Greater Vampire, it smelled extremely potent.

It didn't feel that extreme to the dhampirs compared to a vampire, but it still tempted them to a high degree, so Irene immediately swallowed a Vampire Calming Blood Pill. But for those who aren't vampires, they felt their supernatural nature appearing somewhat, but they managed to force it out.

Hunger struck Natalie, but she also immediately swallowed a pill, causing her bloodlust to dissipate slowly. "This is definitely blood… it almost smells the same as the stench from that body we found earlier, but it's more extreme. Does this have something to do with the corpse earlier?"

Abby nodded, causing everyone to frown. Natalie then said, "How did it become this potent?"

Abby then said, "The forensic pathologist in our department managed to make the blood like this after pouring another victim's blood onto it that probably still had supernatural blood in it. After pouring it, the blood started to boil and turned into this."

After giving it some thought, Naida, who was rubbing her chin, spoke, "We need to send this to the bureau for further investigation. Did you already inform the captain about this?"

"Not yet, but I'll be contacting her," Caspian said.

Naida and the others nodded as she added, "Alright then. If there's nothing else, I suggest we bring this with us to the captain first and give it to the research department of the bureau since we're heading there anyway."

Caspian and Abby nodded in agreement as Abby stored the vial back into the plastic container after putting the lid back. She then handed it to Naida, who in turn nodded, and the meeting ended. Naida and the others stood up, and they immediately left.

Caspian then got his phone and called his mother to inform her about their findings, giving her quite a shock. Grace then said, [Thank you for the information, Caspian. That is undoubtedly a valuable find; well done.]

"No problem, mom," Caspian said as the call soon ended. Caspian then tiredly lay on the couch with his head on top of Abby's lap. As he opened his eyes, he saw Abby's large tits, and he couldn't help but swallow, causing Abby to giggle.

"Who was the sex addict again?" Abby asked with a laugh.

Caspian simply rolled his eyes as he said, "It's still you."

As Caspian looked at his watch, he noticed that it was still a couple of hours before noon. He then said, "We've got nothing to do today… *Sigh*"

After hearing that, Abby caressed Caspian's cheek lightly as she suggested, "Hey, let's go on a date."

Caspian smiled as he sat down properly while gazing at Abby's face. "Sure, why not? We've got nothing else to do, and it would be our first time going out as a couple."

After that agreement, both of them prepared themselves. Caspian then took a quick shower and immediately got changed into something fashionable, and so did Abby. After a while, they finally got ready and couldn't help but openly admire each other's looks.

Ever since they finally became a couple, Abby became open, and her shyness faded away aside from the times they had sex. It was still the same as now as Abby spoke, "Whenever I see you get dressed in something that looks good, I wish I could just gobble you."

Caspian smiled confidently as he grabbed Abby's waist, saying, "I could say the same."

They then headed out to enjoy their date.

Unbeknownst to them, a figure slammed their hands onto the table in an unknown place as they shouted, "Why the hell would you expose how those things are made!?"

The figure sitting in the chair couldn't help but laugh loudly as they said, "It's merely bait to capture the real thing!"

"Real thing?" The angry figure couldn't help but be confused.

"Yes! The same as that man! The real owner of the golden blood!"
