Chapter Forty

   Kate stood dumbfounded, she was really talking to the King of the Gods, she shook her head and tried to wrap her mind around it.

   "Please speak freely, here I am just another god," his voice was low and deep, and the grave nature of it was almost soothing.

   "How-" her voice cracked and she cleared her throat, he was right she had dealt with gods before he was no different, she squared her shoulders and tried again.

   "How long have you been here?" His answer didn't come right away and she realized he might not know. How was he supposed to track time in a place time didn't really exist?

   "I do not know," he confirmed, "Time stands still here. If I had to guess it has been a few eons at least."

   Eons? That meant he had been trapped in Tartarus since the battle on Olympus.
