After some time, the girls were finished, Lilian Mo also took the time to take a bath on her own and was relieved to wash away all the dirt and grime from her skin.
Lilian Mo changed into a fresh set of clothes with a dark undertone before drying her hair. It wasn't because she likes black or anything but because it was easier to hide the blood when wearing dark clothes.
She faced the mirror and saw her reflection for the first time after the apocalypse began. Compared to her previous life, the woman in the mirror was fiercer and much stronger. She was no longer looking at the weak girl who was indecisive and filled with hopes and fantasies.
Lilian Mo smiled.
'Sister Xi, this is the person you created. Wait for me, Sister Xi. I'll pay you back for all the 'wonderful help' that you gave me.' There was an eerie light in her eyes as she gazed back at her own reflection.
Lilian Mo told the girls that she was going to cook dinner but the two had already fallen asleep on their beds so she left them a note on the table and got out.
She went to find the kitchen which was on the first floor of the hotel room. It was inconvenient but she did not mind the trip of walking down the stairs. There wasn't any electricity which means the elevator isn't working.
Lilian Mo was not bothered about the lack of it. Cooking was convenient for a fire ability user like her. She did not mind making simple dishes.
Still, she did her utmost best to ensure the nutrition and taste of the meals she made. However, the kitchen at the hotel was dirty and dusty. Not to mention there were actually a few half-eaten corpses that were rotting on the floor.
For humans and other animals, a stench is usually perceived about twenty-four hours to three days after death, depending on a number of factors like the environment or room temperature.
And these corpses she saw have been rotting here for longer than three days. In fact, she surmised that they have been here for more than three months already which was really disgusting. She dared not touch anything in the kitchen due to this.
She burned those with a grim look on her face before deciding to enter her space. Inside, the generator was working pretty well so she looked through the items in her space and decided to set up a small kitchen area.
She did a lot of grunt work on her own. This was also a form of training. Her physical abilities were stronger after reaching Level five and while fighting for prolonged periods of time was exhausting, the spring water from her space would wash away all of her fatigue.
She wondered if she was the first or if there was a mutant out there who is much stronger than her. Lilian Mo did not doubt it.
There might not be any in the land but for sure, there were mutants in the water that even Lilian Mo, with her golden cheats, could not defeat. For example, the shadow she saw at the river.
There are usually five general areas in a kitchen so Lilian Mo decided to make an L-shaped kitchen setup following the one in her apartment. She made a pantry area where all the food ingredients and canned goods could be accessed. She installed the refrigerator and looked through the manual.
This wasn't her first time setting up a piece of equipment so it wasn't all that hard. She really had to mentally thanked all the times she watched Lu Jingren work on these things in her previous life.
The storage area was where the appliances, utensils, and cookware were located and it was near the washing station. The preparation area was made by moving a long table as a space to work on. Then all that's left was the cooking area where the stove, oven, and even the microwave were located.
Lilian Mo sat down on the ground and drank another mouthful of spring water. It might be easy doing the grunt work but it still took time and energy especially when one works with an empty stomach.
Feeling hungry from all the work, Lilian Mo decided to cook tonight's dinner. Having a kitchen out in the open was really weird especially since the sky in her space did not have any sun or clouds. It was always daytime inside. She also never experienced any rain or storm in this place.
This truly was an independent space that was isolated from the real world.
When she was done, she got out and was greeted by darkness. Lilian Mo frowned, remembering that there wasn't any electricity. How was the rest of the team fairing in the dark?
She entered her space and looked for a flashlight before heading out. She decided to find the girls first. When she knocked on the room, it was Lin Jiaojiao who opened it.
"Big sister Mo!" The girl said in surprise and hugged her waist. "We didn't see you anywhere! Where did you go, Big sister Mo?"
"I left a note on the table." She answered, handing the flashlight to Lin Jiaojiao.
"Momo, it was dark. We didn't notice your note." Mu Qingqing approached them. Lilian Mo turned the light in the table's direction. Sure enough, the note was still there.
"Let's go find the guys." She suggested.
