Why would Lu Jingren ask her that kind of question, knowing full well that her actions and behavior clearly indicate that she has a strong dislike for men?
"Heh." Lilian Mo smirked.
"That kind of meaningless question. Don't ask it again." She told him before checking the files. Lin Fang's profile was not very informative and she already knew a lot of information about him due to their friendship in her previous life.
Lin Jiaojiao's file didn't contain that much information either except that this girl has attended an all-girls school and has grown up as a very timid person.
In fact, in Lilian Mo's opinion, Lin Jiaojiao is not always timid. The girl was very cheerful and lively. Despite the things that happened to her, the girl was still able to smile and remain hopeful. Lilian Mo admires that kind of person.
...since it was hard for her to do the same thing.
After the tragedy of the past, Lilian Mo didn't found living to be very worthwhile nor did she found anything else to be meaningful.
In fact, she merely chose the path of revenge for some selfish and personal reasons. Was it perhaps to stay sane and delude herself into thinking that the past could be erased once she's exacted her revenge?
Lilian Mo doesn't know but it's her only goal right now. And that was enough.
Lu Jingren nodded and picked up the last item on the folder.
"It's a letter addressed to Dr. Fang. I assume that this person should also be Lin Fang. But who is General Leng?"
Lilian Mo decided to answer this question. "From what I know, General Leng is Dr. Fang's father. I am not sure what division he works in or what branch of the military but I heard tales that he was a very astute and commanding man. He has a lot of connections."
That was the extent of Lilian Mo's knowledge about General Leng. In fact, this guy didn't last long in the apocalypse. In her previous life, Lin Fang told her that his father was already suffering from cancer and despite having a trusted aide with a healing ability, General Leng still withered away and succumb to his illness.
No matter how much humans evolve or adapt, they were still mortals and susceptible to illnesses and diseases.
A man like General Leng was no different. In fact, Lilian Mo remembered how detached Lin Fang was when he told her about his father. The look in his eyes was very far off and distant as if he was simply talking about a stranger that was not related to him.
Lilian Mo was curious. Would this two still have the same bitter relationship from the past?
The two of them opened the letter, not caring that they had just stolen someone else's property, or better yet, military property.
Lu Jingren quickly read the contents of the letter. It was an awfully simple letter dictating the other party to quickly come over to their base and participate in underground experiments for the betterment of humankind.
"Lin Fang is a doctor and has excellent abilities. In fact, his scope is not limited to medicine alone." Lilian Mo's face became a bit complicated. The letter bothered her and while it was not very explicit about what kind of underground experiments it was, she has a clear suspicion in her heart.
"Don't panic." Lu Jingren scolded.
"Keep these things in the space." He added before standing up. "I believe it is time for us to head back to others. We aren't clear what experiments the letter is referring to but this makes me suspicious. With the emergence of mutants and ability users, people are bound to get curious and further investigation will arouse among people."
Lu Jingren looked at the windows and observed the others from his position.
"Because the letter is addressed to Dr. Fang, it is best for us to reach out to him and ask him about it." The way Lu Jingren spoke made it sound as though Lin Fang was also someone to be wary of.
Lu Jingren mulled over this matter that was familiar to him.
If it came down to experiments, there was a high chance he would meet that person.
