No one knew, who released 'Destiny' or how it became available throughout the globe. One morning, random stores were opened everywhere on Earth with game sets in them, which won't budge unless paid for on the counter. There were prices written on the game sets with different currencies for each country.
There were no cashiers in the stores, and the money was supposed to be left on the counter, no one knew where it went. It became popular very soon when people played and enjoyed it as no one has ever seen a game this detailed and immersive before.
And whoever wished to add or withdraw money to their account had to go to the store for this.
Many governments and organizations tried to find the people behind 'Destiny' but they couldn't find anything. Everything was a mystery.
Montu also wanted to play the game, but he didn't have enough money to buy the game set so he waited for 3 years until he finally saved enough to buy it. He enjoyed the game very much and earned a lot from the game as he was good in games and he had an innate knack for 'Destiny'.
He reached a high level very quickly.
He was no longer a poor boy, he made some friends in-game and even started dating a girl. She wasn't your average-looking girl but on the contrary, she was absolutely beautiful.
An year after he started playing the game, he stumbled upon some mysterious ruins in a dungeon. There he found a map, and after a month of following the map he finally found a mythic grade item which was extremely rare.
This item was a strange blue-colored eye with a black triangle around it.
Montu kept it in his inventory and then he saw the item's name 'God's eye'.
It had only 20 uses.
As 'Destiny' was very vast and had many different monsters and demons which were extremely powerful.
There was no way to gauge their power and many players died gruesome deaths as they were unable to determine their opponents power and stas.
After death you can't login for 2 days and 1 level drops as penalty.
So, Montu immediately knew how valuable the item he found was. He didn't tell a soul about this except his girlfriend.
One day when he returned to his home from shopping, he found few people in his room armed with guns and weapons. Montu didn't knew what was happening but he immediately turned back and tried to run away as fast as possible but his struggle was in vain as he wasn't even able to reach his door when he was shot in the leg.
Montu felt extreme pain in his body but he knew that he would be dead if he stopped running. He still managed to keep on his legs without falling, but another bullet was fired on his second leg and he fell down on floor.
Montu screamed in pain. His condition was really pitiful but they didn't have any sympathy towards him.
"What.... ha...ve I don... done to you, wh....y are you do.. ...ing this to me" cried Montu while tears were dripping from his eyes.
And he heard a familiar voice, which said "Ahh... my poor boy, You haven't done anything wrong it's just that this world is wretched. Strong prey on the weak, and people like you just get played by the Strong."
Montu perfectly knew whose voice this was, but he didn't wanted to believe his ears. This was the voice of his girlfriend Sara Mills. He didn't want to believe that this was happening to him but the excruciating pain in both his legs reminded him that this is reality.
He finally knew why this was happening. He only told Sara about 'God's eye' and no one else and she being here with all these people meant that they were doing this to get it from him.
"Now behave like a good child and quickly wear your game headset so that we can take your precious item from you" said Sara.
Montu saw that they all had their own game sets already in his house.
"If you give the item to us we will let you go" she added.
Montu stopped crying and turned a cold face devoid of any emotions. He still was feeling unbearable pain but he didn't want to let her enjoy watching this scene.
And once a player uses a game set, it can't be used by others even if they know the password. The game set once used by a plyer only can be used by him/her as it reads brain waves and eye signals before starting.
So they had no choice but to force Montu to give them the item.
Sara knew Montu's last location before he logged off the game the day before and ordered the other people behind her to login and go to that place. So that when Montu login again he won't be able to run or call for help.
Montu knew that even if he gave them 'God's eye' they won't let him live.
Montu began laughing hysterically while putting his headset on.
Inside the game-----------
When montu logged in they were all present there and in a few moments Sara arrived too.
"Now quickly open your inventory and take it out" Said Sara mockingly.
Montu was still in pain even when he was in the game.
Still he had a smirk on his face. In a swift and desperate move, Montu's fingers danced across the interface, retrieving 'God's eye' from his inventory. With unparalleled agility, he flung the coveted item into the air. Time seemed to slow as he swiftly notched an arrow into his bow, launching his most powerful skills at the suspended artifact.
The air crackled with energy as the arrows collided with 'God's eye,' creating a dazzling display of light and sound. The mythic-grade item, once deemed invincible, succumbed to the onslaught. It cracked and shattered, fragments scattering like stardust in the virtual realm.
"Haha, that's what you get bitch. You can go and collect the broken pieces," Montu declared with a smirk, his defiance echoing through the space.
