When both packets were opened, Veric grabbed a few pinches of salt and analyzed it. He kept gazing at the salt for a while and when he finally sated his curiosity and was sure that this isn't poisoned, he put the salt in his mouth to taste.

Then he picked the pepper and repeated the same process.

The scene was enjoyable for Montu.

Veric was very surprised to find out that the salt and pepper were of really good quality. Not only good quality but this was the best quality of spices he had ever witnessed.

He thought to himself that Montu wasn't lying to him about the spices.

Montu asked him about his thoughts on the condiments.

Veric replied " These are the best of the best quality I have ever seen, and you also mentioned that these can be stored for up to 5 years which is unbelievable, but since you have mentioned that, it must be true. We can buy 15 kg of each from you if we can afford the price."

"Both spices are of the same price, so how much are you willing to pay per kg?" asked Montu.

They used to buy very cheap quality spices with little to no shelf life at the price of 80 gold coins per kg. So even if we buy these at 150 gold per kg we won't be losing anything. Veric thought in his mind.

And he thought that it wouldn't have been easy for Mr Dark to obtain these.

Veric wanted to be on Montu's good side and didn't want to disappoint him by offering a low price. So he replied, "How about 140 gold coins per kg, if you don't like the price we can negotiate it."

Montu was startled as he wasn't expecting such a high price. But he didn't let this show on his face, he kept a cold face without showing any hint of emotion.

He didn't know that the spices were so costly here as he never had any use for them in his previous life.

Noticing that Montu didn't seem to like the price offered to him, Veric said hurriedly" We can pay you 150 gold coins per kg."

Montu was surprised again, but he replied " There is no need to increase the price, I will sell them to you at 135 gold coins per kg."

Veric was overjoyed on hearing this.

Montu calculated the total price in his mind.

There were no words to describe Montu's happiness.

"Everything would cost you 4050 gold coins and I want the payment before you receive the goods." said Montu.

Anna who was standing behind Veric was also delighted to see everything going well.

Veric replied, "No issues, I will go right now and bring you the gold coins."

And Veric went into another room behind his chair.

Montu asked for payment before as he didn't have enough gold to buy 30 kg of spices. After buying the two packs he had 20 gold in his inventory.

Veric soon returned with a chest in his hands and he placed it on the desk in front of Montu.

"Here's the 4050 gold coins, you don't need to worry about them being less as I had made pouches of 1000 gold coins beforehand."

Montu took the chest and placed it in his inventory without saying anything.

"The money is not even a coin less," said Montu

Veric had no idea how Mr Dark confirmed the amount of money and he had no plans to ask out about it.

Montu opened the shop and bought 15 packs of salt and pepper each.

He placed them all on the desk.

It cost him 300 coins. But he also made a profit of 3750 gold coins.

Veric was astounded even though he saw Montu doing this unusual sorcery before because it wasn't a common thing.

"Here are the total goods, and the ones that I showed you before are free as this is our first interaction."

Veric was wordless as he never saw a monster like Montu before and he thought that he never will.

"My work here is over so I am leaving now but before that, I have a piece of advice for you, in 29 days many strange people will arrive at your village gates and I hope that you won't let them in," said Montu while smiling in his head.

Before Veric could ask anything further, Montu turned around and left the office. He began walking towards the gates to leave the village, he was hardly able to keep his pleasure inside him.

He soon left the village and no one stopped or questioned him.

Montu began walking towards the goblin camp happily.

He asked the system about his total gold on the way. '3770 gold' replied the system.

'This is basically free gold, I haven't done anything for it.'

He removed the cloak he was wearing and stored it in the inventory.

"I feel much better, now that I have removed the cloak."
