Chapter 4

~The Night Before~

Kai was walking around the city. He was on the hunt. The one person he wanted couldn't be found. So he had to settle for a low life villain to feed off of till he could find Mikayli.

Kai stepped over the dead villains body and walked towards the club, seeing Hawks and Mikayli walked inside. Kai growled and walked to the entrance. When he arrived inside, he saw a bunch of pro heros inside.

He hated the smell of them. He walked to the other side of the club. He ordered a glass of red wine. Hawks was next to him. Kai could tell that the soda was for Mikayli.

Hawks walked by Kai. Mikayli was sitting by Hawks's friend Emi. He never knew that her wings had regrown as big as they were. Her scars were darker from the last time he had seen Mikayli. Seeing her made Kai's heart beat out of his chest.

Of course, her boss sitting next to her. He growled. Meanwhile, Kai's ex Leilany was watching Mikayli. Mikayli had gotten up to the bathroom. Leilany followed her. Kai went to the dancefloor where Hawks was. He purposefully bumped into Hawks's shoulder and said.

"You better watch that little sidekick of yours."

Hawks raised his eyebrow watching Kai leave. Mikayli saw Leilany outside the bathroom stall.

Mikayli sighed and walked out calmly. She walked out and started to wash her hands. Leilany crossed her arms and said.

"Why are working for the heros again?"

Mikayli scoffed and said.

"Is that any of your concern?"

Leilany pinned Mikayli to the wall and said.

"You promised that you wouldn't go back."

Mikayli growled as Leilany gripped onto on of her wings.

"Promises don't mean shit!"

She pushed Leilany off as blood dripped down. Mikayli stormed out. Leilany scoffed and picked up the few feathers off the ground. She was gonna give them to Kai.

Hell was brewing.
