ROOKS (♖, ♜)

In chess, according to Collins COBUILD Advanced Learner's Dictionary, a rook is one of the chess pieces which stand in the corners of the board at the beginning of a game. Rooks can move forwards, backwards, or sideways, but not diagonally. Some say it's the second powerful piece in chess.

In real life, rook has at least a couple of meanings: One, it's a large, black European bird; Two, it's a cheat or swindler; someone who betrays, or someone who manipulates; Three, it's also a type of firecracker used by farmers to scare birds of the same name. Going by the second definition above, I would say, a rook is a TRICKER, one who deceives or meanders.
