....

Do I have to give away both my daughters? Migiwa Ichirou thought, tears welling up.

From the moment Migiwa Ichirou had greeted them at the door, bowing and scraping, to the white fox retrieving the curse from beneath the floorboards.

Kazuha and Akira were utterly bewildered. Raised in a world governed by logic and reason, the two sisters were completely dumbfounded by this display of supernatural powers.

"You should be careful.. Ichirou! Ichirou? Ichirou!!" Harada Daisuke called out, waving a talisman in Migiwa Ichirou's face.

"Ichirou!" Harada's sharp voice snapped the three of them out of their trance.

Harada Daisuke looked at the flustered father and daughters, feeling utterly exasperated. How could you be so ungainly? Staring blankly in front of His Majesty!

You're not helping me, old friend, leaving me to face the Devil King alone!

Migiwa Ichirou, regaining his composure, scowled darkly. He looked at the three young people, and under the weight of his perceived loss (giving away his daughters?), he disregarded Haru's terrifying status as a Devil King. "The three of you, come with me," he said coldly.

He turned and walked towards the living room. Harada Daisuke, confused, watched his retreating figure and then gritted his teeth, hurrying after him.

Haru, equally bewildered by Migiwa Ichirou's sudden change in demeanor, looked at Kazuha and Akira and tapped his finger against his temple. "Did he… injure his head?"

Kazuha and Akira shook their heads in unison. "This is how he usually acts!"

Harada Daisuke followed Migiwa Ichirou towards the living room. "Ichirou, Ichirou! Are you crazy? How can you speak to him like that?"

"If he wasn't the Devil King, I would kill him right now," Migiwa Ichirou growled, his face contorted with rage.

Harada Daisuke paused, taking out a talisman and performing an Onmyoudou spell on Migiwa Ichirou. He's not under any curse… The talisman showed no signs of any magical influence.

He gritted his teeth and continued following his old friend, trusting their years of friendship.

In the living room, the five of them sat formally around the tea table.

Kazuha skillfully brewed premium tea, placing a cup before each person.

"When do you plan to marry my daughters?" Migiwa Ichirou suddenly blurted out.

Clang! Thud! Splash! The sounds of teacups falling to the floor mingled with the gasps of surprise.

Kazuha and Akira's faces flushed crimson.

"F-Father, what are you talking about?" Kazuha stammered, ignoring the hot tea spilling onto her hand. She was utterly speechless, taken aback by her father's unexpected question.

Next to her, Akira had entered a state of shock, her mind short-circuiting from overload.

Seeing his daughters' flustered reactions, Migiwa Ichirou's face darkened even further. Suppressing his anger, he glared at the "scumbag" youth sitting across from him.

Haru was once again dumbfounded. What's going on? I came here to catch a ghost, not to propose marriage! And to both sisters at the same time? Did it have to be this direct?

"Answer my question!!!!" Migiwa Ichirou slammed his hands on the table and stood up abruptly, fixing Haru with a piercing stare.

"I'm not even an adult yet," Haru mumbled, his voice laced with reluctance. He was still young and free-spirited. Besides, in this life, he was still two years away from the legal marriage age.

"Fine, then let's have an engagement now and get married in two years," Migiwa Ichirou sighed, his voice resigned.

"What's going on?" Haru was utterly flabbergasted. Are your daughters so beautiful that they're hard to marry off?

As Kazuha and Akira, their faces still flushed, pulled him out of the living room, Haru remained utterly bewildered.

"Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! I finally understand why I was stuck at the Meikai rank while you were already preparing to run for Speaker. This move is masterful!"

Back in the living room, once the younger generation had left, Harada Daisuke gave Migiwa Ichirou a thumbs-up, his face full of admiration.

He had only suggested that one daughter marry the Devil King, but his friend had gone ahead and offered both of them! Their positions were now more secure than ever..

"There was no other way. The King clearly intended to have both of them. It's better to go along with his wishes than to resist.

At least my daughters might have a better life that way," Migiwa Ichirou said, a bitter expression on his face as he recalled Haru's reaction.

"By the way, what should we do about my opponent using a curse to try and kill me?" Although it was a personal matter, matters of the magical world had to be dealt with within the magical world. Migiwa Ichirou sought Harada Daisuke's advice.

"Do we even need to do anything? Just spread the news of Kazuha and Akira's engagement to the King. There will be plenty of people willing to deal with him," Harada Daisuke replied dismissively, as if his opponent was a mere insect.

"Heh, giving away two daughters does have its benefits," Migiwa Ichirou said with a sneer.

Knock knock. A knock sounded at the door, and the old butler's voice came through. "Master, the Stone Tablets you ordered for warding off evil have arrived by air freight."

"Why did you buy those?" Harada Daisuke asked, perplexed.

"To ward off evil, of course. I thought there was something unclean in the house. Didn't you say these talismans were effective against such things? Butler, just put them in the designated location. We've already paid for them. Make good use of them," Migiwa Ichirou instructed the butler outside.

....

Meanwhile, Haru, after bidding farewell to Kazuha and Akira, was walking along a forest path at near supersonic speed.

Recalling the two sisters' blushing faces, he felt a headache coming on. While he wasn't against the idea, he had a fierce little sister at home! Imagining Sora throwing a tantrum, Haru felt his head throbbing.

In no time, Haru arrived back at the Kasugano residence and entered the living room. Sora was playing online games on a high-end Sony laptop.

"You're back? Hmm?" Focused on the computer screen, Sora only looked up when she received no response. Seeing Haru's hesitant expression, she closed the laptop.

Kasugano Sora's face was incredibly calm. As his twin sister and lover, she knew exactly what his awkward demeanor meant. "Go ahead and tell me. What have you done to betray me this time?"

"Well, you see, it's like this…" Haru, trembling slightly, cautiously recounted the morning's events.

"Oh, so someone offered you their two daughters as concubines? You couldn't refuse, so you agreed? You don't like it, but you felt bad saying no?" Sora said, her expression clearly showing that she didn't believe him for a second.

Seeing that Sora's reaction wasn't too severe, Haru sighed with relief.

"Break off the engagement. Or else you're sleeping downstairs tonight!"

With that, Sora flicked her silver ponytail in Haru's face and walked upstairs, leaving him standing there dumbfounded. He could faintly hear her muttering, "I hate Godslayers!"
