Call Of The North

That day was unexpected. If she had not followed her wishes, would they have met each other? “Who exactly are you?”  “If I told you, what would you do?" “It depends on your answer.” Everything became hell in the blink of an eye. A family that suddenly becomes whole is a thorn. Falsehood is maintained for the sake of the dearest person in her life. “You’re so arrogant as the new member. So, are you happy with this? Fake brotherhood between us" She said with a smile, “You think I'm enjoying all of this? Even dogs will get sick with all of this. If you don't like this, then shut up and smile. In that way, the name you bear will not be tarnished." However, no matter how far she goes, the blueish eyes will catch her in time like a ghost. "Don't ever leave me. If you dare, I'll put a chain in your legs and make you beg me to release it."

Chapter 1 : Northern Territory 1

What's this?

Shakila widened her eyes in shock at what she was currently witnessing right now. Blood streaks were visible over the snow and a fainted man was lying on the ground.

What should I do now?

Seeing the man made Shakila's brain temporarily go blank. She wasn't anticipated to get a surprise on this trip. She planned to only traveled for five months and return to the capital. That was the plan she made before leaving. But now, she feels something is going to mess up her plan.

A couple of hours ago, she discovered a large gray wolf while she was resting. That time, Shakila thought she had to engage in combat to kill the wolf. However, the wolf approached her without resistance and fell to the ground a moment later.

Of course, she treated the big wolf well, and now they traveled togather. Who would guessed that the large wolf had led her to the unconscious man?

At first, Shakila denies this reality, but then she's eventually compelled to do so. She clicked her tongue and started to turn over the man's body to see the wound he had gotten. Shakila opened the man's garments without thinking twice; his abdomen was covered in blood, and the fresh blood was still  gushing from him.

Should I help him? What if I help him heal his wound, but then…he killed me.

Doubt arose over her thoughts. Shakila must decide whether to help him treat his serious injury or let him suffer.

"Ung.."

Shakila was rubbed in the cheeks by the large gray wolf's nose. A worriedness was clearly seen in the wolf's blue eyes.

"Is he your owner?"

"Ung."

Shakila stroked her new friend to ease his worries. At the same time, Shakila questioned how stupid she is right now. A light emanated from her as she placed both of her hands delicately on the man's wound. Shakila was born with that ability.

She doesn't expect to use her power right now. This was specifically the first time she had used it with anyone other than herself. The more intriguing one is that her iris color will change from amber to deep purple when she uses her power. Additionally, after she  has finished utilizing her power, her iris will gradually change back to it's normal hue.

Intentionally ending the treatment, Shakila started to unzip her pouch and apply a bandage to the abdomen wound. Only superficial remained after the major wounds had closed.

I think this is enough.

Shakila stood while patting her pants to remove the dirt that had stuck. "Should I pull his hand or his leg?"

Shakila was still considering which  part she should pull into the old hut that she had found a moment ago. Looking at the man, who had much bigger body than herself, made her think that this man would be heavy.

'Shit.'

She was gasping for an air. Up till she arrived at the hut she had previously seen, Shakila pulled the man along the way. She wasn't expecting for the hut to be cleaner. More importantly, she was lucky to arrive at the hut before the blizzard started.

She exhaled a sigh of relief after helping the man. Unlike her usual self, Shakila didn't know why she willing to help him. Is it because she has pity for the wolf? Or is it because she couldn't bear to leave him?

She lit the fireplace, and warmth began slowly spread across her body. The blizzard would run for a while, and during that time, she would stick with them until the blizzard completely stopped. Shakila didn't mind the wolf, but the man bothered her.

Shakila feels anxious and wishes the blizzard would end soon so she could leave the man in this hut before he regained consciousness. Shakila carefully handed the man the blanket she had found so as not to wake him up.

The man appears like a mercenary, which Shakila hadn't noticed before. He had long, straight black hair that reached his nape, a mustache, and a beard that covered his face.

"Am I wrong to save him?"

It because even more obvious that the mas was a mercenary after taking closer look at the sword that was kept to his left. Everything has already happened; she's unable to run away in this weather, and time cannot go backward.

Will I die or not?

Sighing, Shakila gave the meat to the wolf who was sitting next to the owner. The owner is sniffed by wolf a few time to see if he's still alive or not.

"Eat up, buddy. Your master is still recovering. In the mean time, eat well and rest."

The wolf responded to Shakila as if he understood what she had spoken. Shakila observes them while leaning against the wall. Without her knowing, she had fallen asleep without recognizing it because of the physical exhaustion brought on by everything she has experienced today.
