A Revelation

Danica

I woke up on a bed, and when I blinked my eyes open I startled at the amount of faces staring at me with worry.

"God's, didn't anybody tell you it was creepy to stare at someone in their sleep?"

Of course, I received no answer which made me really look at them.

Their faces were filled with awe and worry but Jerome looked terrified.

"You didn't tell me you were. a healer." Pete said, he somehow kept his poker face despite the fact that his hands were shaking.

I shrugged, "you didn't ask." I sighed and took Hailey's hand, smiling at the scared look on her face.

"Are you alright?"

"I should be asking you that." She snapped back, "do you know how scary it was waking up only to find you sleeping on me looking white as death, I mean I could have really appreciated or maybe even liked you sleeping on me if the circumstances were different."

Jerome growled at that and I laughed.

"Everyone out." Jerome growled.

Everyone groaned before reluctantly going out.

"Don't scare me like that again," He started, "I've never been so scared in my life, do you know I thought you had died, I thought you were giving your life force to Hailey."

I laughed because what he said was funny, but he didn't think so with how he looked at me which made me immediately stop.

"Did you know what it looked like, it looked like you were dying how Hailey was healing, I tried to stop you, to move your hand away but it was like there was a force behind it, you wouldn't loosen your grip on Hailey, you didn't even acknowledge us."

Was I supposed to comfort him?

"—and when you healed her you fainted, we thought you had died because it didn't look like you were breathing, we couldn't even feel a pulse." He broke, his hands trembling and that was when I really looked at him and saw how lines of worry stricked his face, he looked disheveled.

It was like I had a sudden revelation, Jerome had been scared to death because of me, he had been scared for me, of losing me.

It felt good, really good that someone cared enough to want me alive, Jerome cared enough to look past all my flaws and want me for me.

It startled and overwhelmed me.

He cared for me not only because I was his mate, but because of who I am.

I suddenly remembered all the times he had the opportunity to claim me, and he didn't.

Alpha's were dominant creatures by nature, they took what they wanted and didn't care what others thought about it, the only other Alpha I knew who didn't act like that was Casper.

But Jerome was an entirely different case, he wanted me to give my permission for him to claim me, he wanted me to accept him because I wanted to not because he forced me to, even when he threatened to force me he still couldn't no matter how much I frustrated him.

"—You are never healing another soul, do you hear me?"

I was suddenly on top of him, he startled with the way I jumped, wrapping my legs around his middle believing he was going to hold me as I took his face in my hands and placed my lips on his.

Jerome growled low in his throat and took hold of my head, using his hand to hold my hair and then pulled me back.

He looked shocked, and I knew why, this was the first time I was kissing him myself.

He smiled, going from shock to elated as he kissed me back.

He took hold of my hands on his face and directed it to his neck and then he held my legs with one arm while using his other to hold my head as he ravaged my mouth.

Jerome was a really good kisser, he sucked my tongue into his mouth, bit my lip while I kept on moaning for more as I ground my hips against his groin.

He suddenly pushed me away and I groaned chasing after his mouth but he pushed me back.

Jerome smiled, his lips wet and swollen.

"If we are doing this I want us in my room."

I breathed in his scent, and groaned at the smell of Cedar wood and spring rain.

I looked around and that was when I saw that we weren't in Jerome's room, we were still in Hailey's.

I was reluctant to get down because I had a feeling I wasn't going to have enough courage to go at it again.

I whimpered as he dropped me then started dragging me along.

I blushed and averted my eyes when we came out of the room.

I had a feeling they were all staring at me with knowing eyes so I tried as much as possible to avoid looking at anyone as we exited the house.

"Everyone one should go rest, we'll talk in the afternoon and make sure today's mistake doesn't repeat itself, no one should be alone or go out alone again."
