“No.” I blurted before mum could react.
He looked me over, his blank eyes revealing nothing of his thoughts. “We are not selling the house, sir.” I reiterated. Not a million years, and most definitely to him.
Lord Chan’s weird warning aside, in this house lies my only chance of getting Kyros out of me.
He didn’t so much as acknowledge my words. “I know how disheartening this must be for you, after you have gone through the trouble of buying and trying to settle into the house. But nana Brooke’s house has been declared uninhabitable for several years now, and the only reason it's actually still standing is because we are in the works to turn this place into a monument in memory of Nana Brooke.”
“Uninhabitable?” Mum repeated.
