[3rd Person POV]

"What's the situation?" asks Green Lantern as he lands at Metropolis square.

The rest of the league is already present. Flash is laying down on a mound of rubble. Batman is talking to Cyborg. Superman and Wonder Woman are fighting off the few parademons in the area.

"As you can see, the earth's being invaded" Flash gets up and in a blink of an eye gets next to Green Lantern.

"I know that part, I meant to ask what our plan is" Green Lantern stated.

Batman then starts to speak, instructing the Justice league on their plan of attack "We need to shut down the portals through which these parademons are being transported to earth. Luckily Cyborg here can close the portals if we can get him to the base of operations of these invaders. While he does this we also have to free the people the parademons have captured and imprisoned."

Wonder Woman said "All right, once all the rest arrive we'll try to find this base and take Cyborg there while another team rescues the hostages."

It was then that Superman spoke up "There won't be anyone else Diana. We're all that's coming."

"Wait, what do you mean that's all of us? Where are the others?" Flash questioned.

Batman then began to explain how dire the situation really was "Aquaman is too busy protecting Atlantis. Especially after he was injured in a recent fight with Black Manta. John Stewart, Hawkgirl and Martian Manhunter are still off-planet. Black Canary and Green Arrow were captured by the parademons. Nightwing is dealing with any stray parademons that enter Gotham. Dr. Fate is still MIA. The rest are not answering. We suspect that they were captured as well."

"Shit, so most of us are gone? We don't have enough people to reliably free the prisoners and close the portals. We'll need at least four people on each team If we want a good chance at this." said Green Lantern.

Superman said "We have no other choice. This is the only way we can save everyone. We'll have to take the risk."

As they were discussing their plan of action another horde of parademons appears. The heroes get ready to deal with the incoming threat.

Superman says "I'll take care of this" as his eyes begin to glow.

But then, as if they had suddenly flown into a wall of extremely sharp blades, all of the parademons are split cleanly into five pieces. Every single parademon falls to the ground as the heroes look on.

"What just happened?" Batman questioned the Flash, knowing that If someone was fast enough to notice what happened, it would be him.

Flash responded, as baffled as the rest "I have no idea, they all seemingly just fell apart. It's like something invisible just shredded them into pieces."

They got even more alarmed, wondering what kind of had caused all of those monsters to instantaneously disintegrate.

Many simulations ran through Batman's head 'Is it a possible ally? Or an enemy? Considering the fact that it killed parademons and not us, it seems to be friendly. But its attack also could have missed. I need to stay calm. Think about all the possibilities.

It was then that he heard a voice "Oh my, would you look at all this. So many famous personalities gathered in one place. Is this a charity event?"

[Batman POV]

As I turned to look at where the voice came from, I saw two individuals.

One of them I recognised. It was the superhero known as Shazam. He was making a name for himself as a hero, having saved dozens of people. He was even being considered for the position as a league member. His induction into the league was an agenda for the next league meeting. I was to start investigating him soon.

But the other person was unknown. He wore an outfit that didn't belong to this era. It was a brown, 20th century style suit, with a hat and a mask commonly worn by plague doctors during the 17th century.

He was holding a cane, but his posture and movement suggested that it was purely cosmetic, and he was perfectly capable of walking without it.

"Who is he, Clark?" I asked in a hush voice, one which the man still quite far from us wouldn't be able to hear.

Superman, in a calm voice replied, "I can't tell. The mask seems to be lined with lead."

So he knows about our ability, it seems. This just got even more worrisome. The only upside is that he seems to be friendly. But he could be acting to gain our trust. I should just observe him for now.

[3rd Person POV]

Arnold made his way towards the justice league.

Diana questions the man, "Who are you, stranger?" in an inquisitive tone.

" Mr. A. Nostradamus, at your service" replies Arnold, with an amicable tone, devoid of any tension.

"My name is Shazam, I've got to say, I'm a huge fan… I've collected all of your Punko pops." Shazam said, in an extremely excited voice.

While Shazam was fangirling over the Justice league, Arnold had a seperate thought running through his mind 'They're observing me… They are probably trying to check whether I'm a threat or not.'

Arnold comments, "I have got to say, this place has seen better days." intended to break the ice.

"Yeah no shit dude, an alien invasion is happening" Flash retorts.

"Touche, my good sir, but the question is, what are you planning to do about it?" Arnold questions.

"Why would you like to know, error… Mr. Nostradamus?" questions Green Lantern

"Why I'd like to assist you in your endeavours, of course. I can't go on with my day if the world ends can I?" he replies.

"So you're saying you want to work with us?" Superman speaks up.

"Yes, with anything you might need." he tells Superman

"I'm here to help too. I'll try my best." Shazam chimes in.

Arnold finally puts up an offer "What do you think of my proposal Justice League, shall we form an alliance?"
