Chapter 6: Summoning Albedo

Chapter 6: Summoning Albedo

The setting sun dipped below the horizon, painting half the sky in shades of crimson.

"Swish, swish, swish!"

The sound of Lucas rapidly flipping through pages echoed in the library.

It had become a common sight for everyone.

So engrossed was he that Lucas failed to notice the sky outside gradually darkening.

"Click!"

At that moment, the library doors swung open.

"Lord Lucas, Lord Razen has sent for you," said Xino, dressed in a maid's outfit.

Lucas's status had changed; Xino now addressed him with respect, no longer daring to call him by name alone.

Interrupted from his reading, Lucas felt a slight annoyance.

In contrast, the little fire fox was quite pleased, finally getting a chance to rest after a tiring afternoon.

Closing the book, Lucas followed Xino out despite his irritation.

Xino led Lucas to a building at the heart of the castle.

This was where Razen and some ministers usually discussed affairs.

Razen was already waiting there.

Upon seeing Lucas arrive, Razen chuckled, "Hehehe, Lucas, I've presented myself to His Majesty today, and he is very pleased with you."

Then Razen presented several items, "These are high-level magical equipments from within the kingdom, bestowed upon you by His Majesty."

Lucas grew wary, sensing something amiss. "Why is Razen being so unusually kind to me?" he thought.

Maintaining a composed facade, Lucas feigned overwhelmed gratitude.

"This… I'm truly grateful to you, Lord Razen."

"No need to thank me. If you wish to express gratitude, thank His Majesty. We are but servants to His Majesty," Razen explained with a smile.

"No, no, no, I must thank you for your patronage, Lord Razen."

"…"

After a round of pleasantries, Razen left the room.

Lucas examined the items on the table with a frown.

Fine Magical Robe: Offers high magic resistance, wearing it increases MP by 10%.

Fine Katana: Blessed with sharpness, enhances physical attack power by 10%.

Exquisite Magic Wand: Amplifies magical effects, boosting all attack and support magic by 10%.

Holy Church's Cross Necklace: Healing magic is 20% more effective, comes with the skill 'Holy Blessing'. (Equipment includes weapons and armor, categorized as: Common, Rare, Unique, Legendary, and Mythical.) The equipment before him was of Unique quality, considered high-level in this world. After inspecting the items and finding nothing unusual, Lucas put them away.

"What is this old fox plotting?" Lucas mused. He pondered for a moment but couldn't figure out the reason. However,

Lucas wasn't overly concerned. His intelligence attribute had soared to an astonishing ten thousand points after an afternoon of training. And one point of intelligence equated to thirty MP points.

Meaning, Lucas's MP had reached a staggering three hundred thousand. All his skills were now unlocked. Donning the four pieces of equipment,

his MP surged once more, reaching three hundred thirty thousand. Adorned in a splendid white robe, a pristine cross necklace at his chest, and a fine katana at his waist. In his hand, he held a slender magic staff, intricately carved with patterns, topped with a clear spherical orb.

Lucas's lips curled into a slight smile, his aura transformed. "Humph, I thought I needed to wait for the right moment, but it seems unnecessary now."

With that, Lucas carried the little fire fox back to his room. As everyone knows, in games, most skills can't be used without a weapon in hand. Lucas's powerful moves lacked the assistance of a staff or wand, making it difficult to construct a magic circuit. But as if someone answered his needs in his sleep, he was gifted with the finest pillow, leaving him at a loss for words. He almost felt guilty about killing Razen, who had been too kind to him. On his way back to the room,

Lucas sent Razen ninety-nine 'good person' cards, then began planning how to execute a perfect kill. … As night deepened, Lucas let the little fire fox lie on the bed and cast an illusion spell on it. The little fire fox instantly took on Lucas's appearance, pretending to sleep in the bed.

Then, a blue hexagram appeared under Lucas's feet, and his body slowly vanished from the spot. On the outskirts of the kingdom's capital, within a desolate mountain range. A magic circle appeared out of thin air, and Lucas's figure slowly emerged. Rubbing his hands together, he found a clear spot and began setting up a summoning formation.

"Let's see who my first summoned character will be." Everything was ready. Lucas's eyes glinted with golden light as he closed them and began chanting a spell. A beam of light shot up into the sky, enveloping the entire forest. His original MP of three hundred thirty thousand was reduced by ten thousand, a mere trifle for Lucas now.

The massive formation's white and black lights alternated, spreading a terrifying pressure instantly. "Such a strong aura." As the light dissipated, a breathtaking figure slowly emerged. A beautiful woman in a pure white dress, her face adorned with a gentle smile like a goddess, her glossy black hair reaching her waist, contrasting with her attire.

Aside from her vertical pupils emitting golden light, two curled horns like those of a goat protruded from the sides of her head. Pure black angel wings could be seen at her waist. Around her neck hung a necklace emitting golden light, resembling a spider web, covering her from shoulder to chest. Her slender hands were covered in gloves shining like silk, holding a strange weapon resembling a short staff.

At the front end of the approximately forty-five-centimeter staff, a black sphere floated effortlessly in mid-air. "Albedo!!" The girl simply stood there smiling, a magical contract floating before her. Stepping forward, Lucas dripped his blood onto the contract.

The contract instantly transformed into a stream of light that entered Lucas's mind. [Ding! Skill 'Designated Summoning' successful, please set the summoned character's settings.] As the system prompt sounded, a screen appeared before Lucas.

It displayed Albedo's character settings. Pages upon pages were densely written, with normal settings at the beginning. Essentially, she possessed a pure appearance, angelic… Until the last line. "She's a loose woman." Cough cough, translated, it means an unchaste woman. After all, her creator, Jade Record, was someone who greatly enjoyed the charm of contrasts.

The cursor blinked on the screen, with a virtual keyboard beside it. "Does this mean I can change the settings like Momonga did?" Lucas muttered to himself, attempting to delete the words "She's a loose woman." As he expected, it was indeed possible. The rest would be easy then. "Adoring…" Albedo!
