Chapter 5

It took a while to get a system at home. Stephanie and Wynter getting their internal clocks adjusted and such things at home moved slower than they did then work did. Taehyung was over a lot helping. Namjoon was too. He would help Stephanie with her schoolwork and helping her to learn Korean so she could go to school here after she finished the semester online.

"American food is really good." Taehyung asked as we cleaned the kitchen. He was at the sink drying dishes and I was putting food away. "Where did you learn to cook?"

"My mom at first. Then I worked in a lot of kitchens." I closed the door to the fridge and came over to him. "Thanks for helping clean up. A two year old can really make a mess."

"It's no problem. I like being here. It's a change." He set the towel down and turned to me. "So did you sister decide to come to care for Wynter?"

"She actually really wanted to come out here. She needed it more than anything."

"Why's that?"

"Uh, she uh, had a boyfriend."

"They break up?"

"No. He passed. There was an incident, and he died. Our whole family hadn't been the same."

"Oh." He looked down at the floor. "I'm so sorry."

"Don't be. It's not your fault. We're doing better than we were."

"I'm glad you're healing. Probably wasn't an easy transition for you guys."

"I wasn't, but we're here now." I wasn't sure what else to say and he caught on.

"So are you excited to meet at the guys tomorrow?"

"Yeah. Actually I'm really excited. Finally going to be getting some music done."

"You'll be great. Soon you'll be going on tour."

"Thanks Tae." I started putting dishes up in the cabinets.

"I'll see if Wynter's cleaned her room and you can get her ready for bed." Tae said and left the room.

"Taehyung's been here a lot lately." I turned around and saw Namjoon walking into the kitchen.

"Yeah?"

"What do you think about it?"

"I think he's a good friend. Like you are." He made a strange face at me.

"Okey. Whatever you say."

"Doesn't matter what you seem to think. You guys are under contract. As of tomorrow, so will I."

"You can talk to the company Ro."

"I have a life to build here."

"And a partner can be a part of it-"

"No it can't." I put my hands on the counter and took a deep breath. "I should be able to build a life on my own. Me and my kid. I don't need someone to help build something that they can just leave." I turned to look at him. "I have to put Wynter to bed and go to bed myself. I'll see you guys tomorrow."

He took the hint, nodding his head and leaving the room. After a moment I heard the front door close. I went to go to Wynter's room when I ran into Taehyung.

"I thought you left."

"I was on my way. Uh, Wynter cleaned her room, took her vitamin, and brushed her teeth. She just needs pajamas."

"Thank you." He didn't say anything. He just looked down nodding his head and passed me to the door.

Then next day I got dressed in a white polo and light jeans, taking my dance clothes in my bag. I was meeting the four guys I would be working with for the rest of my current career. I put my bag in my locker and went to my managers office for the paperwork and meeting.

I walked in the room and found the man that would be my manager at the front of a long table and four boys around my age. All of them had different colored hair, yet seemed to be basically the same shaggy style. Brown, silver, bright red, and dirty blonde,

"Ah Rowan. Come take a seat." Our manager said and I did so. "Well you boys know each other, this is the fifth member of your group, Rowan. Boys."

"I'm Minseok." The brunette said. "I'm 22 and I rap.

"Uh, I'm Gun. 24 and I rap and sing." The one with silver hair said.

"Hey." The one with bright red hair gave me a big smile. "I'm Kai. 22. Rapper."

"Cheolmin." The blonde said. "I'm the leader. I'm 24 years old, and I rap and sing a bit."

"Ok." I said and smiled at them. "I'm Rowan obviously, I am 22 back home but here I've learned I'm considered 23. I mostly sing but I can rap."

"Cool." They all said.

"Now we're almost ready for a debut we just need to work on your album and such. Rowan still has a bit more dancing to work on but that can be done while we get this into gear." Our manager explained.

"Wait so we have a debut date?" Kai asked.

"We have a date. I'm going to leave your contracts with you to read over. Rowan yours is in english so you may read it. I know you can speak Korean better than before but still have trouble reading it. I had this done to make it easier. Now when these contracts are signed we leave you the day to get to know each other and such. You will need to pick a name today. Tomorrow you begin in the studio. Congrats you guys." Then he walked out leaving us with our papers.

"We did it guys." Cheolmin said and they all cheered.

"I was told I was going to debut with you guys? Did you think you weren't?" I asked them.

"When I called to see how training was going they made it sound like soon we were getting scrapped. I guess BTS said you improved well and was ready enough to get going so." Gun said.

"I'm sorry if I almost ruined your career guys." I apologized.

"No no it's all good. You did your best and you did it. It was rocky but we made it. All of us." I smiled at them and was relieved.

"So any ideas on a name?" I asked them.

"How about International? We're not just a korean group." Cheolmin asked.

"I like it." Kai said and the other's agreed. "Rowan?"

"I like that one."

"Alright then. Let's sign these and make it offical."

That's what we did. One particular part caught my attention. Under contract I was not to engage in any new relationship after the debut date until instucted differently. Just like every other contract. BigHit wants us with as little distractions as possible, especially in the begining of our careers. As if that alone wasn't stressful something always has to happen.

"Rowan." I looked at the door as Namjoon walked in with both my manager and his came into the room. "Guys you go ahead and go to lunch early." They all nodded and left the room. Namjoon and our managers sat down.

"What's wrong?"

"We may be in some trouble." Namjoon said and his manager set down a magazine with what looked like a few pictures of Namjoon and I. Knowing I couldn't read it he continued. "People are starting to think we're dating."
