Lanxter

They had driven for a while when Skye realized they weren't headed toward the house like she initially thought.

"Uhm Jack, are we going somewhere else?" She asked.

"Yes miss, the boss asked me to drive you to the hotel for lunch."

"Oh okay, how far from the hotel are we?"

"Miss, we've just arrived."

As he said that, Skye looked outside the window to find the view of a very luxurious-looking hotel, the most famous hotel in the country where every celebrity frequents, Lanxter Hotel.

"Oh my..." She quickly stopped herself from drooling over a building of all things. Never in her wildest dreams did she think she'd be able to step foot into Lanxter Hotel.

The cost of one night alone at Lanxter was enough to pay her school fees for one semester.

She got out of the car once they reached the parking lot. As they walked to the elevator, Skye pinched herself so she wouldn't squeal from excitement. Each step felt like she was walking on piles upon piles of gold bars.

The elevator stopped at the 15th floor and Skye was ushered in by a waiter while Jack stayed behind. Just as she approached the table, Skye heard Ash arguing with the chef.

The tension in the room could cut through knives at that moment and all the other waiters and cooks had their heads hanging low as Ash reprimanded them.

"We are known to serve the best dishes as a hotel and this is what you have to offer? Did you all slack because I was away for so long? Is this what you expect our world-renowned guests to eat?"

She had never seen Ash that angry before, he was always so gentle with her that she thought he was that way with everyone else but his view at that moment was anything but gentle.

Just then Ash took notice of Skye's presence and the anger he felt a moment ago vanished into thin air.

"Skye...you're the rest of you are dismissed."

All of them quickly ran out of there as if they were being suffocated by Ash's presence which was admittedly alarming and scary.

Skye slowly walked toward him, afraid of making him more upset than he already was. "Uh, Jack said you called me here for lunch."

"Yes, I did. I was informed that you left the house in a hurry without having breakfast."

"Oh, I didn't feel like eating at the time..." She said awkwardly, still not comfortable with the whole situation.

"I initially wanted us to have lunch here but maybe we can go elsewhere."

Skye immediately jolted back into reality, all fear washing away from her body when Ash mentioned going elsewhere. She just stepped foot at the best Hotel in the country and there was no way she'd let herself leave there without tasting their delicacies.

"No!-there's no need for that, I'm hungry right now so we can just eat here."

"Okay then."

They immediately started eating since there was already food on the table but Skye kept staring at him, she had questions to ask.

"What do you want to say?" Asked Ash.

"Huh?"

"You've been staring for a while so I was wondering what you wanted to say."

"Oh, right...Earlier, I heard what you were saying to the staff and you referred to the hotel as ours so may I ask if you're connected to the hotel, if my memory serves me right, you're a lawyer, right?"

"you're very observant I see," Ash chuckled lightly, "My family owns the Lanxter group business in and out of the country and I was supposed to take over but since law is my true passion, I made a deal with my father to be a lawyer until I turn thirty then I'll take over the business."

"So you're the sole heir to THE Lanxter group? The number one business in the country?" Skye was in shock to hear that she was sitting right across from one of the most influential people ever.

"Yes, I am." He said calmly.

"Wow, that's a lot to take in...so how long do you have left till you stop being a lawyer?"

"Two and a half years left." There was a level of sadness in his eyes as he said that.

"I know it's not my place to say this but why do you have to give up on your dreams like that?"

"My father and his father before sacrificed so much to turn Lanxter group into what it is today, and being the only child, it's my responsibility to make sure their efforts don't go to waste."

"You're really brave and thoughtful for making such a sacrifice."

"Thanks..."

"So, what was the commotion about earlier?" Skye asked, letting her inquisitive nature out.

"Well, our sales level for the hotel has dropped in the last month and the quality of food they serve isn't as great as it was before so it's affecting the business."

"Do you mind if I take a look at it? The sales chart and data I mean, I'm majoring in business management so maybe I can help out a little although I won't be as effective as the professionals you have."

Ash smiled at her, happy that she was willing to help. "That won't be such a bad idea, we can go check it out at home, and as for the plan I spoke of yesterday, we'll discuss that too."

"Alright."

The two ate in comfortable silence after that and left the Hotel soon after.
