Chapter 15: Sport's Festival Pt.3

The tension in the air was so thick it could be cut with a knife. Todoroki's stare grilled into Midoriya and the rest as they prepared to defend against them. The atmosphere was quickly broken by the sound of dull explosions coming from outside the boundary made by Todoroki.

Boom.

Boom.

Boom.

"...astard!" A rough voice was heard slightly, it's volume rising gradually.

While everyone was looking towards the commotion Todoroki urged his group forward as they dashed towards Midoriya's group. Quickly bringing their attention back they dashed forward as well, their face's steeled with determination.

"There's no way we can avoid them now that we're trapped in here. It'll have to be decided with this. Everyone, let's do our best right here and now! HAAAAAAAAAA", Midoriya screamed along with Mei and Uraraka as they sped forward, Akutagawa expressionless but his gaze piercing.

Todoroki raised his right arm as icy vapor gathered around it and aimed it forward. Midoriya mimicked his movement, his arm glowing and exuding a pressure as he moved to intercept Todoroki. Just before they clashed Akutagawa yelled.

"Uraraka, now!"

"Right!"

Uraraka used the hoversoles to sidestep Todoroki on his blind side, narrowly dodging his outstretched palm as it grazed Midoriya's face. Now behind them, Midoriya backhanded at the air, sending out a strong gust of wind that set Todoroki's group off balance and making them stumble.

Akutagawa didn't miss this chance and sent a fist shaped Rashomon tendril to launch them out of the arena. Right before his fist could make contact it was dematerialized by Kaminari's lightning which arched across its surface and stunned Akutagawa, gaining a muffled groan from behind his mask.

Momo stabbed forward with a newly created pole aimed at Akutagawa but Uraraka quickly placed distance between the two groups as they backpedaled. They couldn't get far though because Todoroki's ice encroached on them like a phantom and froze the hoversoles, rendering them unusable.

The audience cheered at their battle, their attention focused more on this fight compared to the other groups. As they moved in once again for another exchange a series of explosions caught their attention.

"Half-and-half bastard, pretty boy bastard, Deku! Don't think you can steal the show from me!", Bakugou screamed as he blasted straight towards them, his face morphed into a terrifying scowl.

"Get out of my way!" Todoroki yelled and stretched his palm out once again.

"Hoooooooaaarrr!" Akutagawa growled and stretched out his own hand, Rashomon Jaws heading towards the two.

Time seemed to freeze as the three roared and converged in the middle, their screams echoing as they were only inches from making contact. As it reached the critical point and the audience cheers were at it's loudest Present Mic's voice interrupted them.

"Time's UP!", he screamed over the mic, stunning the three groups. They couldn't stop their momentum so all their groups crashed into each other, knocking heads and sprawling out on the floor.

"Urgh..."

"My head..."

"Who's leg is that in my stomach..."

Groans were the only thing heard before the audience erupted into cheers once more. Bakugou's punched the ground and cursed repeatedly while Todoroki grimaced, his disappointment almost taking form around him.

"In first place we have Team Midoriyaaaaaaaaaaaa"

"Good work everyone, we-" before Akutagawa could finish his sentence Midoriya burst into tears as he gripped onto Akutagawa's jacket.

"W-we WOOOOOOOOOON!", his tears sprayed out like rain, creating a mini rainbow. Mei and Uraraka burst into laughter as they watched Akutagawa try and struggle out of Midoriya's iron grip. "Hey hey, calm down!". He pushed on Midoriya who was still blubbering thank you's with tears running down his face. Eventually he gave up and covered his face in embarrassment.

As the rest of the rankings were announced the students slowly walked out. Akutagawa was quickly joined by Mina and Kirishima as they walked side by side.

"Great job in the battle you two", Akutagawa complimented as he pulled off his mask to check it.

"Ugh, don't even start. That blonde weirdo from Class 1-B totally got the jump on us, huuuuuuuuh", Mina groaned followed by Kirishima. "He was really something. At first he had Bakugou's quirk which caught us off guard and then he had mine. It was so trippy".

"Well, I wanted to warn you but you guys decided to join Bakugou. Bad luck I guess?"

"Awww what, you jealous?", Mina teased as she playfully shoved him, eliciting a grumble from him.

"As if, I'm in first place, what do I have to be jealous about". He waved his hand dismissively, his mouth pulled into a slight frown.

"Haha, you don't wanna admit it. I wouldn't have taken you for a tsundere Akutagawa", Kirishima joined in the teasing, hooking his arm around Akutagawa's neck and poking his face.

"W-what!? I'm not a tsundere! What made you think up that crap?", Akutagawa said, his pale face now red with embarrassment. Kirishima stifled a laugh and said, "Your edgy image is totally ruined with your face all red like that".

Mina burst out laughing and started chanting. "Tsundere Ryuuuuuuuuuu, tsundere Ryuuuuuuuuu". A tick mark appeared on Akutagawa's forehead as he chased down Mina who made a quick getaway, continuing her chant and gaining amused looks from everyone else around.

"Stop Mina! Are you crazy!?", Akutagawa ran after her, his mouth pulled into a crooked line and his ears burning.

"Not till you admit iiiiiiiiiit!", she laughed and dodged by him.

Kirishima chuckled as he chased after them, shaking his head at their antics. "Guys wait up!"
