Chapter 3

My head was pounding. I tried to move my arms, I couldn't. I tried to move my head, I ended up almost choking myself. There were leather straps binding my hands, feet, and head to the table. To my left, there were silver tools polished with blood. My stomach growled.

The last time I ate was… Wait. How long was I out? My eyes trailed down to my stomach. I was in brand new clothes new pants, a new shirt, and new… Wait a second w-who dressed me? A door burst open I looked to my right there stood a man with big burly arms and a soul patch. In his arms were a wooden bowl and a polished sword. A sweet aroma filled the room. My stomach growled. "So you're hungry huh?" he said in a hearty tone.

He placed the bowl on the table next to the silver tools glinting with blood. He saw my eyes and spoke. "Yea sorry about that." I looked at him "Sorry about what?" Then I feel it. Whatever it is. A pain, no not a pain but so more of an uncomfortable feeling. He looks at me with a look of confusion.

"Do you really not see that?" He says as he points at my chest under the covers. "See what?" He sighs. He pulls the covers up and lifts my shirt up. "Bu- wha- how? There was A HUUUUGE scar and I mean man that thing covered from your neck to your…"

From the way, he ends his words and the way his fingers are pointing to my… "What. The. HELL!" I screech. "Man, can you quiet down?" A voice says from behind the door. "Great, what now?" I say in a sarcastic tone not really caring who's behind it.

I could care less but I gotta find out who the hell cut me open. The door flings open as smoke covers the doorway. There is a figure hiding in the smoke. They fly out; smoke trailing behind them. Oh great. The first thing I recognize is the crimson hat. Then the robes.

It's her again… Wait. Her noodly arms wouldn't be able to carry me then I look at the guy, was he hiding in the bushes with her? "Hey pay attention!" I sigh. I look over and the girl who calls herself Alexis is right in my face. I jump but really can't, and I manage to put myself in an uncomfortable position. "Hey Alexis, can you untie me?" I asked "Nope." she says in a bratty tone. "Please?" I ask again. I get the same response "Nope."

"Well, why not?"

"Because I don't want to."

"Seriously? Are you that bratty?"

"What did you just call me?" She rushes towards me but the big burly man stops her. "Hey, you," I say, looking at him. "Yea?" He responds. "What's your name?" "Jace." He responds. "Well, I'm Glamos, nice to meet you, Jace." Alexis looks at me and says something but I can't hear her. Jace nods and exits the room.

He comes back a minute later with a gigantic book, The book is in a language I don't understand but something in the back of my mind shows me some of the letters. All I can tell though is "Clas i c t n f e em n als." Alexis opens the book and scrolls through. Her fingers stop at words I can actually read. The words are… Glamos. Why would my name be in a book? I ask myself knowing I won't get a response.

My mind tries to come up with answers and the best result is that maybe just maybe my parents chose my name out of a book? But I know that isn't true. Alexis looks up and looks me in the eye. She closes the book and walks towards me. "This is unbelievable!" She yells. "What is?" I ask her. "Look, I'm sorry but I may or may not have cut you open. Bu-" "YOU WERE THE ONE WHO CUT ME OPEN? SERIOUSLY! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!" I scream at her face. She's unfazed. "Listen there is a reason." "Well let's hear it, Maniac."

That word gets me glared at but I don't care. "I overheard the conversation you were having with your capturer, but I just thought you were lying to him when you said you didn't know how to use magic. So, I flashed a spell which is supposed to blind non-magic users but you still got blinded."

"So?" I ask. "So, that meant you couldn't use magic but for some reason, I was able to trace some sort of power radiating off of you when I knocked you out." "This leads to me being cut open how?" I ask impatiently. "Well the reason I cut you open was to find where that power came from. You had something in you, no… something that was you. It was called Mixed powder, something only used in high-level rituals. It was used to conjure elementals and demons of immense power, but it's both extremely dangerous and almost impossible to get. I think people tried to infuse an elemental with you."

"Ok…" I say "So what you're saying is I got merged with an Elemental?" "I forgot to say something. When people are summoning an elemental with mixed powder, a random elemental appears but when someone yells out its name there is a higher chance of it becoming that elemental."

"This affects me how?" I ask "Your name, It's one of the names of the elemental. Glamos is the name for an ancient elemental, this means that you were merged with an ancient elemental." "Ok…" I say not sure of what to do or say. "Do you not know anything?" She asks. I shake my head. She groans "Ancient elementals were one of the strongest beings alive, hell, they were even stronger than the dragons if they were at their second stage."

"Second stage?" I ask. "Man you must be clueless." She says.

"Listen! Ancients can enhance their power. Kind of like how a dragon gets stronger when it ages but faster and much more powerful." "The ancient that you were fused with was in stage one. But it was able to control 6 elements, but since it had so many elements, it had to control it, but it could only enhance one at a time."

My world basically flipped, I mean I just learned I'm part human and part elemental, well more elemental than human, I guess. She said I could enhance my powers but, how do I activate them?

I could ask her, but I feel it's best if I learn how to do it myself. I hear her voice. "Do you know how to activate it?" Great, it's like she read my mind, and asked the one question I don't know the answer to. "No," I honestly said. "Oh, Grea-" Horns rang in the distance.

I could hear her curse under her breath. Jace, get your weapon. He nodded and left, and Alexis removed my restraints. My first move was to punch her then run, but something told me I shouldn't. "Listen," she said. I could hear the clank of armor, but it sounded as if it surrounded us. "Stay here." She whispered. Jace appeared in the doorway. Alexis left and came back with her scepter and her robe. "Come on!" Jace said in a serious tone, then beckoned me to follow him. Alexis opened the door. Jace went first, Alexis second, then me last.

The sun blinded me, I looked away. We were in the middle of a meadow. There were people everywhere all of them in iron or leather armor. Most of them had swords, some had bows, and others had axes. "GIVE US THE BOY AND NO ONE GETS HURT!" Thundered a female voice.

People separated, letting a dark-skinned woman pass. She was in Steel armor, she had an iron greatsword and looked as if she wouldn't care if half her men died. "No." The word seemed to echo, one of the men ran up to her and talked loudly enough for us to hear, "What should we do, Mahalia?"

She lifted her sword, and yelled "ATTACK!" Alexis lifted her scepter a ghostly apparition of a bear appeared. Men charged at it, the bear clawed at three men, barely wounding them. An arrow launched through the air and hit it in where its eyes should be. Soon dozens of arrows flew through the air. Alexis crouched down, whispered something, and then a dense blue barrier appeared above us.

The arrows hit it and clattered harmlessly on the floor. 3 people rushed at us. Jace swung his ax and cut one in half. Someone slashed at his back, causing a deep wound. Blood flowed out of his wound. He turned around and slashed at the attacker's neck

. The other one got another attack before his hands and legs were severed. The way this battle was going we would die. All three of us. But I didn't want us to die. I didn't want to die, I told myself. Not now! The wind swirled around me. I rose up in the air. The wind whispered in my ears, danced around my skin. The wind was me, and I was the wind.

Everyone looked at me in shock, I had no time to waste. I pulled my hand back and swing it forward. The wind rushed sending the attackers flying. Arrows flew towards me, None got close. The wind launched them back. Archer's fell so did most of the other warriors. I could see Mahalia fleeing, leaving her men to die. I tried to reach her but I was out of energy. I went back to being flesh and blood. I fell to the ground. Alexis and Jace rushed over.

"Wow." I heard. Not sure from who but I'm guessing it was Jace. I was drained, I couldn't move my arms. I felt arms around my neck and my legs. Someone carried me back inside. "How could've they found us?" Alexis said to herself. "You should rest, you were pretty awesome out there though," Jace said.
