chapter 28: The Ki And The Aura

Licht: To think that you can talk so Casually while facing me. You really are an arrogant one, aren't you. [ Light Magic: Light Sword Of Conviction ]

He smiled before activating his spell. Many light Swords appeared in air as Licht waved his hand downwards every Sword shot towards Yami.

As the Swords approached Yami blocked all of them without any effort.

Rowan: 'Woah!'

Licht: Hmm... How about this.

As Licht said that he suddenly disappeared from his place and appeared behind Yami and prepared to use the attack that he initially planned use at Rowan.

Rowan: Captain!

*BANG*

Covering his blade in dark magic, Yami spun around and broke the attack with a slash of his katana.

Asta: I- Incredible...

Licht: So this I the power of the magic knights Captain!?

Yami: Hey you, have we met before?

Hearing this caused licht's eyes to widen slightly before turning to normal.

Yami: I don't know anyone who uses light magic, so who the hell are you? And why do this? What's fun about it?

He pointed his katana at him and asked.

Licht: Heh, you really are an interesting one, aren't you. Let me tell you a story Captain of the Black Bulls.

He laughed before continuing.

Licht: Long ago, ina certain village, there lived people with very strong magic They were much loved by mana. They changed the weather and manipulated ley lines... They had power to rival gods. The humans from outside the village worshiped them as such. However gradually... The humans grew to fear their strength. They envied it, and wanted it. They tricked them, massacred them... And stole their power..

Finishing his story, he looked at the three of them.

Yami: What's up with that story? What's it got to do with you? Are you gonna be a bard or something? Ok then, I've got a little story too. In a certain place there was a boy. His folks were fishermen, and he'd been sent out fishing since he was little. Then he got ship-wrecked and was washed ashore in a weird country. His race and culture were different, so he met with some serious nastiness there. But he beat everyone up.. And became the boss of a group. The end. Well?

Yami slashed another light sword that makes a little cut on his shoulder.

Licht: As a foreigner I suppose my story had nothing to do with you. So get off the stage.

As he said that multiple light sword headed towards Yami.

Licht nodded.

Licht: Correct! After all that meticulously planing and scheming I finally had him fall into my trap.

Yami's magic suddenly started to rise up.

Yami: Figured that must have been it because, there's no way he'd lose to a weak ass attack like this! [ Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Lightless slash ]

Channeling his dark magic into his sword, Yami released a dark slash that escaped his sword and flew at Licht.

*SNICK*

Licht: ??

Licht's eyes widened in surprise as the blood spread out of the wound that appeared on his face.

Valtos: MY LORD!

Yami: You couldn't have beat him without resorting to tricks, huh!? But now that there's no trick or traps that you can hide behind, I'll show you the true power of the magic knight captain.

Licht: Heh!

Yami: Were you two watching that?

Asta/ Rowan: Yes!

Yami: Great, now do what I just did.

While this was going on, Licht looked over his grimoire.

Activating a new spell, the wound Yami left on his cheeks shone brightly before closing up and disappearing.

Licht: That's better.

Rowan: 'He can use healing magic...'

Seeing this, the three of them stopped talking to each other.

Yami: We'll would look at that I guess guys with tons of mana can do a lot of things. Never mind that just get ready.

Asta: No, Listen, I really can't! Not right in the middle of a fight. And I don't have magic anyway.

Rowan: How could you say that you're my rival if you can't even able to handle that much, Asta. Go and try not to die to quickly, so I have time to prepare.

Rowan: 'That kinda like how I sense that the guy's

attacking from from behind, though I still felt the large amount of mana that he gathering in his hands.'

Yami: When I do it, I combine it with magic and mussels and fight that way. I guess it's like being a Magic Swordsman or something.

Asta: Mussel! So that's why you're neck's so thick, captain Yami!

Yami: You're ain't much different, kid.

Rowan: Yes! I get it!

They both turn around and looked at Rowan like the seen an alien.

Then Yami quickly slashed at a couple more light

swords while continuing talking.

Asta: I don't have any magic power so, what about me !?

He asked with sparkling eyes.

Yami: You? You don't have any mana so you can't be a magic swordsman.

Asta: Oh!

Yami: But you nature power is high then that kid's and since you can use anti-magic you can be an anti-magic Swordsman.

He said while pointing at Rowan.

Asta: Whoa! But Rowan is working hard on his body this days too.

Rowan: Aura ability drain my stamina so I need to increase it.

They both again look at him with weird gaze.

Rowan: Umm... I'm gonna go test out that ki thingy. I've been doing it subconsciously before, I can use it now, right?

Yami: Dunno, go figure it out.

He gripped his sword titer before walking toward Licht.

Rowan: 'Okay, I can do this, it's just like captain Yami said, I've been doing this subconsciously all this time, how hard can it be to actually do it if I pay attention...

Avoiding the orb of magic, Rowan manifested his moonblade into his hands and slashed at another orb of magic that come flying out of a small portal.

Rowan controlled his breathing and closed his eyes under his helmet. * Breathing in* *Breathing out*

Valtos: Your armor not going to protect you for long!

He sneered before charging another ball of magic .

The words of Valtos was completely unheard by Rowan as he had immersed himself in his own world.

Rowan: 'Wha... What's this felling, it's like everything has smoke around it. Is.. I this how it said to be feel aura. It's seems like everything is burning in transparent smoke.'

Even Yami was surprised Rowan's gains, his ki has somehow calmer than before. Feeling Yami's gaze from behind Rowan turned Arond to face him.

Waving his sword with only one hands, Rowan blocked another barrage of attacks from Valtos.

Valtos: W- what the hell!

With his enhanced senses he slashed with his sword and every orb of magic around him disappeared without a trace.

Valtos: I- Impossible...

He fell to his knees as he realized that he had humiliated himself in front of Licht.

Watching Rowan defend against his every attacks after declaring that he would handle the boy, left Valtos feeling both embarrassed and enraged.

Valtos: 'Even if I can't kill this boy, I'll be sure to fulfill Master Licht's other request.'
