I wake up the following morning with a headache, and the taste of alcohol is still present in my mouth in the morning.
While looking at the nightstand, I notice a glass of water and a packet of tablets.
There is a note that is located against the alarm clock.
Kathy,
I have left you a glass of water and Advil to alleviate your headache.
Love and kisses
Melvin
Ps: We are going to have brunch at Mom's house. First, take a shower, and then come down to see me. After that, we are free to leave.
I begin by taking the tablet and then ingesting it with water.
Getting out of bed, I make my way to the bathroom and make the necessary adjustments to the temperature of the water.
I position myself so that I am above the shower head and allow the water to flow down my body. Before I get out of the shower, I make sure to wash both my hair and my body.
As soon as I have dried off, I go to my room and search for a decent outfit for Melvin's parents' house.
I reach into my closet and pull out a long black dress that hangs down to the floor and has a slit on both sides. Taking out a pair of black flats, I put them on with a pair of black underpants that matched them well.
Someone is knocking on the door. "We're leaving in five minutes," Melvin yells.
I brush my hair and then put it in a bun. "Okay," I say to myself. I apply a very light layer of makeup and then glance in the vanity mirror.
A grin appears on my face as I look at you.
When it comes to my fiance's family, I appear decent.
When it comes to brunch, the William's House is typically where the entire family is present.
Included in this are Melvin's grandparents, as well as his aunts and uncles.
I attended every brunch during high school, and Melvin's family didn't seem to mind.
The way they treated me was as if I were a member of the family.
I would like to know if Melvin continued to attend the brunches after we graduated from high school.
I will acquire the information necessary to answer that question as soon as I am at the estate.
As soon as I grab my purse from the bed, I head straight for the door and descend the stairs to where Melvin is waiting for me.
Melvin kisses me on the lips while holding me in his arms.
Increasing the intensity of the kiss, I wrap my arms around his neck. "I love you, Melvin."
He breaks into a broad grin before his eyes. "I love you too, Kathy." While he was moving away from me, he maintained a smile. There are members of my family who are going to be taken aback when they see you. They know I am engaged but have not disclosed its identity to them.
I like that he keeps us a secret from the rest of his family.
After opening the front door, Melvin lays his palm on the small of his back before closing it again. Come and meet me in the car. I must lock the door to the house.
The limousine driver holds open the door as it pulls up in front of the location. "Thank you." I get into the limousine and go to the front of the building.
When I look out the window, I see Melvin running down the stairs, and then he proceeds to climb in.
When he finishes, the door closes behind him, and the driver enters the vehicle.
There is a departure of the limousine from the residence.
I feel Melvin's hand resting on top of mine. "I'm looking forward to seeing Grandma Alice's face when she sees you walk through the door."
"I hope she doesn't have a heart attack."
It is a laugh. "She's a tough old bird," the speaker said. She will outlive every one of us.
She likely will.

Reece, the butler, is standing at the entrance of the Williams House, where I am working. He is greeting a couple with whom I need to familiarize myself.
They enter the room through the window.
Melvin's phone rings. As he does so, he removes it from his pocket. "Mom says we're the last ones to arrive, and everyone is waiting for us on the patio."
I make my way towards him. "You purposely wanted us late."
As he nodded, I didn't want to repeat myself a thousand times because I didn't want everyone to know you were my fiancé. It is more convenient to make the announcement all at once.
After stepping out of the vehicle, Melvin extends his hand to me and extends it to me.
I grasp his hand to get out of the car, and he assists me.
While looking at Reece, I notice that he is showing signs of surprise, and then a smile spreads across his face. After he has moved away from his position, he wraps his arms over me. "Greetings, Miss Walker," she said. Your return to this residence is very much appreciated. I've been missing seeing your lovely smile whenever you're around.
As I hug him back, I chuckle at him. "It's good to see you again, Reece." I beam a grin at him. "Do you still carry those chocolates?"
The man gives a head shake. "I was forced to put an end to them. According to reports, Michelle is allergic to chocolate. According to her, it causes her to break out in hives; nevertheless, I have witnessed that woman sneaking them into the house and stuffing them into her mouth as if there were no tomorrow.
According to what I've heard, that is a diet that some models follow. You can avoid eating in front of other people by using this method, which is called the "get full of chocolate."
Melvin has a frown. "Is that a real thing?"
I shrug. "Who knows."
He takes my hand. "I hope that's not what you'll do when you become a model."
I don't want this to be my career. When it comes to performing most photo shoots, I'm content. Even though I am a model, I will not give up on my dream immediately.
After we enter the house, Reece follows us in.
Melvin stops and glances at me as we approach the patio entrance. "I am going to break the news to my family," she says. When I call your name, you can leave the building.
After opening the fly screen, Melvin says, "Okay," and then comes onto the patio. "I want you all to meet my fiancé."
A person is heard to say. "If it's that woman you usually bring to the brunch, I'm out of here."
To a small extent, the feminine voice is supported.
Melvin looks at me with his hand waved.
I stare at the Williams as I open the door and look inside. "Good morning, everyone."
In the beginning, Grandma Alice gets up from her seat. She embraces me. "I'm glad it's you that he brought through the door." She gives him a look. "I was going to pull out colt and shoot some whore."
In a whisper, I hug her. "You met Michelle?"
She makes a nod. "For Melvin's sake, we had to pretend to like her for all those years, and it was a terrible experience. My heart longs for you, Katherine.
"Me too, Alice." I look around the table at all the people that are recognizable to me. "I didn't think that I would see you all again."
Lacey, who is Melvin's aunt, comes over to talk to me. Melvin is the focus of her attention. "Now, this is the ideal choice for a fiancé," the speaker said. It would help if you were happy you got rid of that other female. I can only hope that she never shows up at a Williams party under any circumstances.
A great bunch of "yeahs" are being shouted, and I laugh.
As I turn to face Melvin, I say. "Melvin, there are moments when you should pay attention to what your family has to say. They do, even though you may not know what is best for you.
She laughs, Lacey. "In addition, pay attention to what Katherine has to utter. She is a source of excellent guidance. It is between Melvin and I that she looks. What had transpired between the two of you? At first, you appeared to be unbreakable; however, as you started college, you both changed.
I am looking at Melvin. You can share the story with everyone. Please let me know what you think about it.
There are a few instances in which his mouth opens and closes.
