Chapter 4: The Space Backpack and the Next Step

Wei was exhausted, but each victory, no matter how small, gave him the motivation to keep going. Now, with the Hand Blaster (Level 1) in hand, he felt more confident. However, something still bothered him: he was carrying too many resources and makeshift items in his pockets. "This is unsustainable..."

As he walked back to the area where he had set up his campfire, the system flashed once more in his vision.

[System Update] New Recipe Unlocked: Space Backpack (Level 1) Description: A modular backpack capable of storing resources, items, and equipment in a limited dimensional space. Ideal for prolonged exploration.

Wei nearly jumped for joy. A dimensional backpack was essential in any game system—and apparently, also in real life in this chaotic universe.

"Now I just need to find the materials..." he said, opening his mental inventory to review what he already had.

Simple Circuits x2 — ready.Scrapped Metal x4 — also ready.Tough Fabric x0 — needed to find this.

He sighed and began his search again.

The Fabric Hunter

Wei knew that tough fabric wouldn't be common on a scrap planet. He'd likely have to look in areas with remnants of clothing or navigation equipment. As he walked, he saw something interesting: a broken droid, half-buried under a pile of trash.

He pulled the droid out and realized that part of it was wrapped in worn synthetic fabric, probably used to protect internal components.

"I need one more..."

After another 15 minutes of searching, Wei finally found another piece of fabric on a discarded spaceship seat.

With all the materials gathered, he opened the construction menu. The interface lit up as he selected the Space Backpack (Level 1). Just like before, a blue light began to shape the item in his hands.

Wei immediately felt relief. He started transferring all the resources he had been carrying into the backpack, including metal parts, circuits, and the extra rations he'd found.

"This will make my life much easier."

Exploring Further

With the backpack ready, Wei decided to continue exploring the horizon. He knew the data core he had found earlier was just the beginning. There was much more to be discovered, and now he had space to carry what he needed.

In the distance, he spotted something interesting: a partially destroyed tower with a giant antenna on top. It was probably part of an abandoned communication system. He decided to approach.

As he climbed the wreckage of the tower, Wei found a partially functional room. There, a terminal was faintly glowing, powered by an energy core still active. He tried to access the terminal, but the system was locked.

[New Side Mission: Hack the Tower Terminal]

Objective: Access the stored data in the tower to unlock new recipes and information about the planet.

Requirements: Hacking Tool Level 1.

Wei opened the menu and saw that the hacking tool was available but required new materials:

He knew he would have to search for these materials nearby. However, before he could leave the tower, a mechanical sound echoed down the hallway. Wei immediately raised his blaster, ready to face more trouble.

The Tower Guardian

From the back of the room, a droid larger than the previous one appeared. This seemed to be a real combat model, with arms equipped with blasters and a glowing red visor.

[Alert: Enemy Detected]

Model: Combat Droid C4 (Star Wars Outlaws)

Level: 3

"What do you have against me?" Wei grumbled, hiding behind a console. The droid began firing, destroying part of the surrounding structure.

He quickly glanced at his inventory and saw that he still had a Scrap Grenade (Level 1).

"This will have to do."

Wei waited for the right moment, emerging from cover and throwing the grenade. The explosion hit the droid's legs, but it wasn't enough to destroy it.

"Great. Of course, you're tougher..."

He decided to take a risk. With the blaster in hand, he began shooting at the droid's vulnerable points while moving to avoid enemy fire. After several well-placed shots, the droid emitted a metallic sound and fell to the ground, deactivated.

Resource Collected: Processing Chip x1, Light Metal x3.

With the resources in hand, Wei quickly crafted the Hacking Tool (Level 1). He returned to the terminal and activated the device.

Wei could hardly believe it. A space bike would be the perfect solution to explore the planet faster.

Looking Toward the Future

With the backpack full of new resources, Wei descended from the tower, his eyes set on the horizon. He knew there was still much to be done, but every small step brought him closer to conquering this world—or finding a way to escape it.

"If this is the Star Wars universe, there's an empire out there waiting to be explored. But for now, I need to keep getting stronger."

With the backpack on his back and the blaster in hand, he headed toward the next destination: a massive field of ships in the distance.
