Ancient Golem of Viking Ruin

"Hey, over here." Kurt called us, while waving his hand.

We arrived at the deepest part and everyone was here as they waited for us.

"None of us found anything useful, we were wondering if you three got something useful information." said Ray.

"We got some information, you should all be grateful to us." said Reina proudly.

"Oh, is that so. That's good Reina. So, what did you guys found?" asked Ray.

"Yes, about that..."

Elena explained everything what we had found in the old documents. She also handed the documents to Ray for better understanding.

"I see, I got it now." said Ray while he understood what was written in the old documents.

"We understand that much but why these documents have more information in it? What does it say, Ray?" asked Voila.

"Well, it is the ancient method on creating the golem and there is diagram as well. Though I can't understand much because of technical stuff that are ancient and never taught in our timeline." replied Ray.

"No wonder these document's size is large." said Ryuji.

"So we will need to depend on Ryuji, right?" asked Kurt.

"Yes." I replied by confirming it.

The documents suggested that in order to defeat the ancient golem, we need a person who holds the power of darkness. In other words, there element should be Dark type with high level.

"Ryuji, can you do it? I asked him.

"Well...."

It looked as though he was hesitating somehow.

"Ryuji's strength is great, we can rely on him. Ryuji, I believe you will do better." said Voila.

"Yes, I will!"

We had moved forward while being cautious, then we witnessed the ancient monument between two huge pillars of the same size as the monument.

"What is that monument?" asked Ray.

"I guess there are many things we don't know about ancient stuff like this." said Kurt.

"I don't see any golem here except for ancient monuments, designs and technologies." said Voila.

"If the golem is not really here or doesn't really exist then I guess we are lucky to avoid the battle. Let's hurry up and find any useful information regarding Giant Serpent." said Reina.

"Yes, it looks like it." muttered Elena but I heard her.

"Alright let's start searching this area as well to find something useful so-"

"WARNING... WARNING, INTRUDERS HAS INFILTRATED THE TERRITORY. ACTIVATING THE DEFENCE MECHANISM... PROCESSING... COMPLETED... LAUNCHING THE ENERGY TO TRANSFER..."

"Wh- What is going on!?" said Reina with a little flustered.

"Oh well here we go again... System activated the defence mechanism that means..." said Ray while looking at a certain direction.

His gaze was fixed on the monument that is between the two pillars. The energy was flowing through the monument as it started moving on its own.

"ENERGY TRANSFERED SUCCESSFULLY... EXECUTING ANNIHILATION PROCESS... INTRUDERS WILL BE ANNIHILATED IN FEW MINUTES..."

"The system is overconfident and is insulting us as if we are nothing but insects haha." said Ray.

"This is not the time to joke around, look there!" said Voila while pointing her finger towards the direction of moving monument.

The strange monument transformed into a golem, combining with the two pillars as they represented the hands of the golem. The golem's torso is in itself a fortress, designed with ancient designs with stone plates on it, the crown like structure sat atop it's head, it's eyes glowing red as it showed a desire to protect something. It's core, glowing in red as well, is in the middle through the gaps of its fortress like structure. It's hands are two huge pillars, well designed sculpture.

"ANNIHILATION PROCESS BEGIN!"

"Ryuji are you-"

"Look out!" I warned both Voila and Ryuji.

Golem suddenly rushed towards Ryuji and Voila as it produced the laser swords from it's palm that had a gap in its middle part where the sword occurred. As it tried to attack with its otherworldly speed, Voila dodged the attack while she also helped Ryuji dodge as well by pulling him. Thanks to Voila's quick reflexes that she was able to react fast.

"Never expected something like this from a golem, normally golems are slow..." remarked Ray.

"Ha!"

Ryuji unleashed the dark magic, creating the fangs like structure with intense magic filled within. Golem was hit by the attack as it had an impact on the golem but golem was not crumbled by Ryuji's attack because of it's defence magic that was able to defend the user.

"This golems magic defence is well balanced but not really better than other golems. It is like that it is designed with balance." said Ray while he moved towards the golem.

"What are you doing, Ray? The golem is immune to any other attacks except for dark element attacks." said Kurt.

Ray hit the golem with his sword, containing tremendous amount of power in it, but we had got confirmation that golem is really immune as the attack was nullified.

"I told you it won't have an effect."

"Don't worry, we can support Ryuji while distracting the golem so that Ryuji can easily attack or use powerful attacks, that takes time and concentration along with magic energy, on the golem." He suggested that we should help Ryuji.

"I agree with him, besides we can't just sit idle as we watch Ryuji fighting the golem on his own." I agreed with Ray.

"Yes that's right, let's support him!" replied Elene.

Everyone agreed on this as they can't let their comrade fight alone.

"Get frozen by my attacks!"

Kurt used his skills to freeze the golem from the floor, the ice was reaching to the head of the golem however-

"Damn it, It's really strong." said Kurt.

The golem broke out from his ice magic as it threw the left pillar hand towards the direction of Kurt with so much speed and power coming from it.

"Oh no-"

Kurt was hit by the strong huge pillar punch and he was thrown back in a long distance.

"Kurt!" I went near him.

He was unconscious as the pillar hand left him and went back to the golem.

"Oh no! He is badly hurt. Don't worry I will he-"

"Chloe, leave it to me. Please help others, they are having a hard time. Look!"

"Understood please take care of Kurt."

I had also participated in the battle. I concentrated my magic to unleash the strong hurricane. The purpose was not to hit it ofcourse rather it was to distract the golem. The hurricane was generated successfully and golem was caught in it.

"Ryuji! Right now!"

"Yes!"

Ryuji used his magic attack that looked like a projection of the wolf and he sent it towards the golem. When the golem succeeded in deflecting the hurricane, it was caught by surprise attack of Ryuji. Golem, unable to defend at right time, hit by the attack.

Ryuji didn't stopped and he launched the dark magical arrows towards the golem. The golem fell down on the floor. Ryuji, yet another, used his attack and sent the huge dark ball in the direction of golem. Golem stood up but it has failed to defend again due to the impact of previous attacks so far.

Golem had been hit by the dark ball as the attack exploded, spreading darkness all over the area that was deadly as it contained magic energy at a decent level.

"It is working!" said Reina while using the slippery water magic on the golem.

Golem fell down again, unable to stand up thanks to Reina's magic. Ryuji, who never seemed to stop, used another attack with dark projectiles, sending towards the enemy's core part. Ryuji was targeting it's core part from the beginning to weaken the golem and eventually defeat it. According to documents, golem's core is the most sensitive part and the important one just like human's brain and heart.

"FATAL DAMAGE STATUS RECIEVED FROM THE ANNIHILATOR... INCREASING OUTPUT FROM 50% TO 70%... REPAIRING THE ANNIHILATOR... ADJUSTING THE BATTLE MODE... BATTLE COMMENCING IN... 3... 2... 1... CONTINUING THE PROCESS OF ANNIHILATION..."

"70%? This is going to be trouble... It is not even on 100% yet... Talk about troublesome enemy." said Ray.

"I hate this system..." said Reina with a disgust look on her face.

"It can't be helped though... We will have to take care of this." said Voila.

"Well, it was expected. According to the documents, it's repairing process will become invalid when this golem's strength reaches the 100%."

"Don't worry, if we work together and support Ryuji, we can win this." I said while encouraging others.

"...!?"

The golem was standing behind Ray and we didn't knew how long it was there standing. The golem's speed must have been increased. It crossed it's laser swords and launched the attack by spreading it's sword to hit Ray. Ray defended himself from it's cross cutting slashes with his own sword, the impact of the attack splashed in every direction with minimum 10% of the power released from the slash.

"It's power is increased at a higher rate despite not on the 100% level." said Ray when he witnessed it's power himself.

Ray's arms were bleeding from the impact of the last attack from the golem. It was not that fatal but it was still a little painful.

"Let me heal your arms!" I said.

I had healed healed his arms as he thanked me.

"Fall down!" Reina used her previous magic skill again, hoping to disrupt the balance of golem.

Golem switched the laser sword with it's flame thrower and sent towards the floor, spreading it and the Reina was target by the flames. She got injuries not fatal but she was groaning in pain. The floor was not slippery due to evaporation because of flames.

"Reina!"

I tried to heal her but-

"...ugh!?"

I felt a sudden pain and before I realised it, I was lying while my back was supported by the walls. I realised that the golem, with its insane speed, hit me with its lunch and I was thrown back and was hit by the wall behind me.

"...uh..!?"

I was struggling to stand up and healing myself with my healing magic.

"Chloe! Are you alright!" said Voila.

"Yeah I think, protect Reina."

"..oh no! Reina."

Golem grabbed Reina while trying to crush her with its pillar hand. Reina was holding up while increasing the output of defence magic to protect herself.

"R-Reina!" I was helpless and was struggling to help her

But my body was not really at a shape to do anything.

"Come on..."

Ray tried to defend her but his attack failed as the golem was immune.

"I won't let you hurt anyone!" said Ryuji with a loud voice.

Ryuji unleashed another powerful huge dark ball and sent it towards the golem. Golem had defend itself with its left hand, creating the magic barrier and Ryuji's attack was completely nullified. Golem turned towards its right hand, that was holding Reina. It was focused on crushing Reina.

"Leave her alone!"

Ray and Voila tried to attack at the same time. However, every attack failed to even distract the golem. Ryuji was trying hard to unleash another attack but unable to do it due to sudden pressure of using magic attacks one after another.

"At this rate, Reina will! No! I won't let that happen..." I said while trying to move my body but I was badly hurt with that one powerful punch.

I was unable to do anything except for healing myself.

No this is bad! At this rate Reina will die! No no.... Only if I was a little stronger....My body is not supporting!

"Kyah!!" Reina was groaning in pain while struggling to defend herself.

It was only a matter of time where she would not be able to hold up any longer.

"Reina!"

Elena was helpless as she couldn't do anything at all.

Is this it? I can't protect her? I....I don't want this to happen...

"Tch....Damn it! Can't we really do something?" said Ray

"....Hey....leave her alone..."

"....Ryuji?" said Voila.

"You are ignoring me? Hehhahahaha.....you will pay for this you mere piece of trash!! HAHAHHAH" said Ryuji with strange aura surrounding him.
