Chapter 15 Lydia Chris cheated on her husband

I woke up later and found myself on the hospital bed, that was when I understood that an accident finally took place, I couldn't yell at the truck driver anymore for not attending driving school.

I looked around and saw my wife and my daughter, I wanted to reach out and touch my daughter, but I couldn't. I felt pains all over my body.

My wife and daughter were shedding serious tears, I watched as tears rolled down my cheeks, I couldn't even say a word, I just stared at them.

I spent months in the hospital, before I was discharged, the doctor said that I was lucky to have survived from the accident, that alot of people lost their lives on that day, and I was brought in unconscious.

Even my CEO visited me in the hospital during my sick days, he also told my wife not to bother about my hospital bills, that he was going to take care of them, he makes sure I doesn't lack anything, during my admission in the hospital.

After I got home, my wife took very good care of me.

My CEO came visiting me, he asked me to please come back to the company and resume work as the manager, anytime I'm fully recovered.

I wasn't going to accept it, because I knew what I actually passed through before I had accident just because of his wife Florence.

I told him I want to start afresh from all over, that I don't want to loose my life this time.

He insisted I have to come back, that he was very sorry for everything that happened because of his ex-wife, that was when I actually realised that he divorced his wife Florence.

She didn't really love him, she came to marry him because of his money, and she has been having affair with Ben.

He caught them at the office, they never knew he was watching them, they were shocked and speechless when they heard him bang the door.

Even before he caught them, Florence told him that she was pregnant for him.

He was so happy, but later realised that the baby wasn't his, rather it was Ben's.

He said I should please come back, that nobody is going to disturb me anymore.

He said that he also fired Ben from work.

They should go and live together since that's what they actually wanted.

After thinking much about it, my wife said if I'm still interested to work for him, I should go back and continue the work, but if my mind doesn't accept it any longer, I should quit and look for something else to do.

After much thought, I decided to go back to my job, since my attackers were gone, and my salary also doubled.

That was how I gained my job back.

Later on, Ben and Florence came to me, asking me to forgive them. He said they don't want to keep living with guilt all their lives, that they were really sorry about everything they did to me back then.

I'm a kind hearted man, so I forgave them, my wife was very happy that I really forgave them.

I was happy that I forgave them, but I wasn't actually happy that I still have another thing that is bothering me, it was about my daughter Lara. Each time I remembered about it, I felt so sad that it weighs me down alot...

My father was still speaking when the door bell rang, Dena went to see who was at the door, it was Owen and his family.

They came in with frowned faces, they weren't happy.

Please just sit down, I said making signals with my hand.

I don't really know what is going on, someone should please tell me what is going on, I want to know what you have planned against my wife and my family, Owen's father asked.

What happened sir, I asked with curiosity.

I received a text message from an unknown number, telling me to ask my wife to tell me the truth. This message has been coming in since last week, but I kept on ignoring them.

Until last night, my wife was in the bathroom when her phone rang, I stared at the incoming call, I noticed it was the same number that has been sending texts messages to my inbox. I quietly took the phone to her, but she refused to answer the call, saying the call is not important.

She said it was a retired soldier she met at the supermarket, he was asking her to date him, but she told him that she was married, but the soldier insisted that he really loves her.

I believed her though, but her phone kept on ringing, until she switched it off,and threw it inside the drawer.

I woke up around 2pm, to urinate, I heard my wife answering call at the adjoining room. I guess it was also related to the text messages, because I overheard her said "I still did not want my husband to know about the incident that took place years ago with the Wilson's family".

I wondered what the incident could be, so I came here to figure out the plans Wilson's family had with my wife years back.

Ohh, that's great, I can see everything I actually wanted is going according to my plans, Caleb bursted in.

So after cheating on me with wife my, you still have the gut to plan evil against my mom? Owen yelled at Caleb.

Oh just shut up, you are not even ashamed of yourself, by speaking, you should keep quiet and listen, I yelled at Owen.

Caleb smiled and said, even the cheats knows themselves, it really runs in their blood. Anyway guilty conscious will never let you rest until you throw up all you've swallowed for long time.

How dare you talk to me like that? Owen bursted out of anger.

But you can't still do anything, knowing that you're a bad egg, that supposed to be wasted without thinking twice, Caleb said as he gave out a fake smile to Owen.

Owen immediately stood up to fight Caleb, but Gerald stopped him,and asked him to sit down.

Mrs Lydia, what are you waiting for? Come on, say something.

Or don't you have something to say? Caleb asked with a low voice.

What are you guys talking about? My parents asked in unison

Don't worry yourself, just calm down and listen, I told Lara I was going to help her find out hidden things.

The door bell rang again, this time, it was a stranger.

What are you doing here and how did you find me here, Owen's mom asked the stranger as she stood up from the couch immediately.

Ohh, you two know each other, this is actually getting interesting, Dena said.

Were you surprised to see me here? Don't worry, I was coming from your house, but nobody was at home, so I tracked you down here.

You have refused to pay me for some months now, and I needed my monthly payment from you to keep my mouth shut, but you weren't complying, so I had to come all the way from where I lived to this place, the stranger explained.

What is he talking about? Owen's father asked his wife.

I'm so sorry Mrs Lydia said going on her knees.

Sorry about what? He asked

You can't just be sorry, tell him what you did, and please once you're done, just pay me for the months you have been owing me, the stranger said, chewing gum.

I'm sorry, I cheated on you years back, she said bending her head.

Cheated on me how? And when? I don't still get it he asked.

She is saying that she slept with another man during your absence,please make your husband to understand you very well, Caleb explained to Owen's father.

I'm sorry I cheated on you with a retired soldier when you travelled to the states, and I got pregnant for him.

The stranger here was my neighbour then, he packed in two days after you travelled to the states.

I was sick and couldn't go to hospital alone, so it was this stranger that drove me down to hospital.

When my test results came out, the doctor congratulated us, and told me that I was pregnant.

I was shocked and afraid that i was going to loose you, so I kept it from you.

The soldier also visited me after I came back from the hospital he warned me not to abort his baby.

I told him that my husband would be coming back next month and I don't want him to know that I cheated on him and got pregnant for another man.

He threatened to kill me if I dare abort his baby, so I became scared and kept the baby.

How can you cheat on your husband with a married man, knowing fully well that anything can happen at anytime, Caleb asked making a mockery face.

When I met him, he told me that he was divorced, and he had no child, so he wanted me to be his closest friend.

It was later that I found out he wasn't divorced, his wife couldn't give him a child, so he planned with his wife to get a child from me.

Are you trying to tell me that Ceciclia isn't my biological daughter? Owen's father asked.

I'm sorry, but she is not your blood daughter, she replied.
