Beast Driven System

The modern age of human society had undergone an evolution that changed it forever. Mana had arrived on Earth, and with it, came a meteor shower that threatened to reduce humanity to nothing but rubble and debris. Earth's governments were thrown into chaos because of this, and many military units were deployed to protect the masses from what they could only assume to be the end of the world. Using the most advanced arsenal possessed by the various world military governments, the adverse effects of the meteor shower had been controlled to an incredible degree, protecting most of Earth's inhabitants from utter annihilation. There were countries that were destroyed, leaderships and citizens wiped from the face of the Earth. Reconstruction had to be done to bring the demolished landscapes back to their former glory. It seemed like everything had gone back to normal, however, that was far from the case. Months after the meteor shower incident, world renouned scientists dedicated their time to studying these strange crystalline meteorites. Years later, and something ground breaking had been discovered-abilities. These meteorites, they weren't actually meteorites, but crystals. Where they had come from was unknown and still being researched up till today. From the crystals came abilities that changed humanity forever. Those who could afford the crystals were fortuate enough to obtain strange powers from within. Fire, boulder, serpent, and many others. Many more years passed by, and more and more was being discovered about abilities and the crystals they came from. Everything seemed to be heading up after the phenomenon that nearly destroyed the Earth, but not everything was for the benefit of everyone. For many years, most were oblivious to the presence of abilities on Earth. It wasn't until an alien invasion occoured, that the information on abilities was made public. Strong ability users were needed to defend Earth against the Shales. The government, private and public corporations, and many others, they were all monetizing whatever crystals they could get their hands on, using it as a means of earning revenye from the populace. Those who were rich enough to purchase ability crystals could become ability users, while those who couldn't would simply remain as regular humans. Many rich families in the new world were able to obtain strong abilities for themselves and their children; the ones who would continue their lineage and glory once their parents are no more. In order to learn how to defend humanity from the invasion of the aliens, people from the ages of 16 were ordered to attend a military academy by the decree of the federal government of their respective countries. Failure to abide by this law was punishable by jail time. Kayden, a sixteen-year-old from a city known as Black Saber city. Having lost his parents at a very yoing age, he had to live with his single uncle and his cousin. Like many other teenagers his age, he desired to attend military school to learn how to fight against the Shales. However, being unable to afford an ability, his dreams of becoming powerful seemed like they would be crushed, but that all changed the day he had been given a system that allows him to unlock monsters by completing quests. On his path to evolve, he must face multiple challenges, complete quests and go on missions just to grow in strength. For in the current world, only the strong are regarded, while the weak are cast aside and forgotten. That was the general rule, the rule that governed everything that happened. From a crystal, came a power that changed his life. Now, he must do whatever it takes to save the people he loves and cares about. He must make sure that he doesn't loose the people he cares about once more.

The Urge To Kill(Part 2)

"I like it when they run," Marcus said, a wide grin tearing through his face as he gazed upon tbe multitude of people scattering across the open road in search of safety. With screams filled with terror, the street was turned upside down as people ran across the roads, some crashing into glass windows just to get to safety.

Seeing all of this unfold right before his eyes, there was a sense of excitement brewing within him.

The soul that was taking over his body, seeing everyone running to safety, quickly kicked off against his feet, rushing tiwards tbe nearest person before swiping his hand, killing the man in a single strike.

Quickly, he rushed towards the next person, repeating the process as he killed people after people, slowly littering the street with a pile of dead bodies.

With all this chaos going on, ut wasn't long until someone had gotten in contact with the local police station, informing them lf the crises currently taking place. However, right after he had explained what was going on, a hand had pierced right through his chest, crushing his heart and killing him.

"The police? Well, this should be fun,' he thought, rushing towards the next person that caught his attention.

_____________

Somewhere in the city, the mayor, who was in charge of running the city's affairs, had just gotten word of what was currently taking place on one of the city's busy streets. Sitted at his desk, he continued to tap his fingers non-stop, looking deep in thought as he contemplated on what he would do next.

On one hand, there was the local police force in charge of dealing with such threats, but on the other hand, there was the feeling that this threat was something they wouldn't be able to deal with easily.

From time to time he would have to utilize his personal finances just to deal with the issues regarding the city, thinking that this was going to be one of those issues, he wasn't liking it one bit.

"Maybe if I deal with this myself, then I won't have to spend as much money as I'm thinking,' he wondered, as his gaze shifted towards the window. 'Screw this, everyone knows how those damned leaders can be. If this rogue military student is their doing, then the city's police force won't be a match for him.'

Getting up from his desk, he proceeded to walk towards the doors before exiting the room.

'It seems like they think I'm a weak link. Well in that case, I just have to show them that I'm just as capable as the others,' he thought to himself, pounding his hand into his palm.

___________

Marcus had killed at least 60 innocent civilians at this point, abd although majority of them had abilities, his power was just too much for any of them to handle, leading to their innevitable deaths and him getting a lot closer to finishing his mission.

'I get stronger by killing people. The more people I kill, the stronger I become, abd the closer I get to taking over this body,' he thought, feeling a force somewhere on his mind trying to fight back.

'Weak human.'

Hikari was about to attack his next target, he felt a hand grab hold of his, abd befirr he could react, he felt his body being lifted up in the air, before being tossed and kicked towards one of the buildings nearby. Quickly getting back up from the rubble, he could see a bunch if Ken dressed in similar clothing with badges standing not too far away from him.

Before he could attack, the five men quickly gathered their power, hurling all sorts of attacks in his direction, causing the already destroyed building to crumble even further, chucking up a huge amount of dust from their respective blasts.

The city's police force had arrived, and even with their combined attacks, there were wondering whether it was enough to deal with the current threat. Seconds later, and nothing happened. The boy had yet to emerge from the demolished building.

"Is he still alive?" One of the men asked, curious to step forward and have a look first himself.

"Stay back! We can't be too sure, and even if he's dead, we can't take the risk of him still being alive and attacking you from a close range!" The leader of the shouted, his gaze fixated on the pile of rubble on front of them.

"We can't let what happened back then repeat itself!"

The other men couldn't help but nod their heads in response. While they were all staring at the pile of rubble, one of the policemen felt something grab him from behind, abd just as he was about to turn his head, his body had exploded on the spot.

"Tony!" The squad leader yelled.

"I guess there are other ways to kill a rat, after all," Hikari mused, rushing tiwards the next policeman and killing him off. Although these people were considerably more stronger than the regular civilians, he was able to easily kill them off by imbuing their bodies with a concentrated portion of his power, before causing it to expand and overwhelm their bodies, causing them to explode moments later.

Within a single minute, he was able to kill all five of the policemen that were sent to stop him.

"Come on, where are the strong people? I'm starting to get bored," Hikari said, swinging his hands in the air as though he was still attacking people, even though the others had already found safety and were well away from where he stood.

"I guess if there isn't anyone else strong, that I should just head into the shops and kill the people there," he said, turning around and heading towards the nearest shop from where he stood.

"Hey!" A voice yelled out, causing him to turn his head to see who was yelling out to him.

"The hell is this old man yelling for?" Hikari muttered under his breath, getting ready to rush him and kill him in one blow.

The mayor, after activating his ability, quickly rushed towards the enemy, ready to deliver a blow. Looking at the fist, there seemed to be no energy surrounding it, abd even his eyes, there was no glow to them as well.

It was almost as though the person trying to attack him was nothing but a normal human being.

"Hah! This should be fun. A human without an ability think he can ki-" before he could finish his sentence, the fist had connected with the side of his face, abd although there looked to be no power behind it, there was a strong force that was pulling his face towards the fist.

The man wasn't weak by any means. Hikari would've been able to easily deal with him, however, once the attack had connected, he felt a force that was pulling his face closer and closer tiwards the attack, like a piece of meat placed between two slices of bread.

Also, it was as though he couldn't even fight back against the pull, as he was trying his best to, but whatever effort he made to break free, oy seemed to be making him more trapped in whatever power this old man was using against him.

"How… dare… you!" Hikari yelled, as the next second, from his body, his power exploded, pushing the old man back, while he held his face tightly, still feeling the force that was pressing against him.

His gaze shifted to the man standing before him, who was no longer standing in place, but had rushed in once again to continue attacking. Seeing this, Hikari raised both of his hands up, and from the palm of his hands, a strange blue mist began to form.

"Time for some experimentation," he said, running forward, whacking the man against the side of his face, quickly knocking him towards the ground with that single hit. "Now, let's see if you will even remember your name."

Not long after, and the old man had gotten back onto his feet. Hikari was expecting him to loose his memories after that one hit, however, seeing his intense gaze, he was starting to think that his attack hadn't work against the man.

'I don't know what that was, but I'm glad that my spirit weapon was able to protect me from it,' the mayor thought to himself, before getting ready to attack once again.

'This fight isn't going to be as easy as I expected,' Hikari thought, as a wide grin formed on his face the next second. 'This is just the fight I've been looking for. This guy will help me recover more of my strength, after I defeat him, of course.'
