Before travelling to the past: When Hyun Na Bi was 36

Jin Yong was looking closely at Hyun Na Bi to see her reaction. This was something he had been doing for a very long time, trying to read the face of others to prepare himself for when he had to negotiate with other people on business deals.

Jin Yong could see the confusion flash in Hyun Na Bi's eyes when he said he hadn't married her. But he had to address the elephant in the room. Hyun Na Bi was married and her wedding ring was shining brightly. Looking at Hyun Na Bi he could easily guess that she had married into a rich family. Her clothes, her assistant, the way she carried herself was enough to confirm this. Hyun Na Bi looked rich but sad and lifeless. Her happiness mattered more to him. The only thought that had kept him going for all these years was that Hyun Na Bi was happy somewhere in someplace even if he couldn't see him. After the initial reaction of seeing Hyun Na Bi after so long, her soulless face and her sorrowful eyes were breaking his heart. But he tried hard to remain calm until he knows everything about her.

Jin Yong continued in the calm voice, "You're married"

Jin Yong could blame no one for this. It was his fault. He should have said everything to her sooner and begged her to wait for him. It was too late now he knew that… but he wanted to make everything right… at least now.

Hyun Na Bi looked at her ring and smiled sadly, "Great observation. Yes and I have two kids a boy and a girl"

This wasn't her wedding ring. The day she knew that Park Dae Hyun cheated on her, she threw the ring at his face. Hyun Na Bi wore the wedding ring only when it was absolutely necessary. It was not like they were married happily nor had something between them. Park Dae Hyun had asked her several times to not remove the ring but she ignored him. What's the use of wearing a wedding ring when it was all just pretense? This was just a normal ring and just to show everyone that she was married she wore a ring in that finger. But she wasn't going to tell Jin Yong all that.

Jin Yong smiled, "I'm sure they must be lovely like you"

"They are. What about you? Wife? Kids?"

"I was married twice. No kids"

Hyun Na Bi scoffed in her mind, 'Twice. Great!'

Jin Yong said the words he wanted to say the moment he saw her, "You look sad. Devastated"

Hyun Na Bi wanted to leave the place before she could do or say something that she would regret. He was away all these years when he promised her that he would with her always and now he had the audacity to comment on her feelings. What did he expect? Roses and rainbows and she were happily living somewhere?

Hyun Na Bi tried to stay calm but her voice was shaking, "I... What do you want?"

Jin Yong got up and knelt down before Hyun Na Bi.

"All these years I searched for you but I couldn't find you."

"Why would you look for me? Getting married twice wasn't enough?"

"I did not marry out of love. It was just a business deal"

Hyun Na Bi let out a chuckle, 'Of course. Everything was a business deal to him'

When Hyun Na Bi did not answer, Jin Yong continued, "I love you. You're the only person I have loved my entire life"

Hyun Na Bi stood up. She had enough of this nonsense. Did he think he could just waltz in whenever he wanted and she was supposed to be grateful that he had come?

Hyun Na Bi almost yelled at him, "Who the hell do you think you are? I am not an object. You can't throw me away when you don't need me and come back when you're bored"

"I never threw you away. I never wanted any of this to happen. I only wanted you to wait."

"For how long? Fourteen years? You want me to wait by your side like an idiot when you fooled around with other woman"

"Do you think I wanted that? I did everything for you. Have you heard of the DaeSun Group? Now I am the chairman, the largest shareholder and I wanted to give you everything you wish for. That's why I had to do all this"

"Did I ask for all this?"

"I wanted to make you happy. When I could all have the riches in the world I wanted to give that to you and make you my queen"

"Did I ask you for money even when I came to know you were a Chaebol? Why? THEN WHY DID YOU THINK THAT WAS WHAT I WANTED"

Jin Yong stood up from his kneeling position seeing Hyun Na Bi's angry red face. She had never yelled at him before. He deserved it.

Hyun Na Bi continued, "You are rich and you have so much wealth. Are you happy now? Tell me. You abandoned and betrayed me. You did everything you could to mingle with that family. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? FUCKING TELL ME."

"NO I AM NOT. I would give away my entire wealth just to be with you and the kids"

"Kids?"

"Yes Yours. They are your flesh and blood. I would gratefully accept them"

That was the last straw. All hell came loose.

Hyun Na Bi without thinking spoke about the only thing that was eating her for all these years, "Then what about your kid? What would you do to about the kid who would have been 12 years now? Now you have everything else you want kids now? You should have thought about this when you were young"

Jin Yong stood frozen, "What are you talking about?"

Hyun Na Bi was frozen herself thinking about what she did, about at the moment she did not care, "Remember the one night stand?"

Jin Yong nodded his head. Of course he could remember. How could he forget the one and only time he slept with his love and held her in his arms? Was she?

Hyun Na Bi finally said it, "I got pregnant. I was about to come and tell you that and that's when I saw you proposing to Ahn Se Na. It was the last day in the university for you. I killed the baby when I saw that we had no future"

"Noo… your lying"

"Yes. The only child you could have had is gone. It's dead"

Jin Yong who was calm so long lost it, he was shaking her shoulders violently, "Why? Why would you do that? WHYYY????"

"Because I can…"

Defeated, Jin Yong sat on the couch. His face looked drained of blood.

But Hyun Na Bi continued, "Why? Does it hurt to know that your child is dead? Then imagine how I would have felt when I saw you kissing Ahn Se Na when I was carrying your child? Live with this guilt forever."

Jin Yong left the place without a backward glance. Hyun Na Bi broke down at that place. The secret she had kept in her heart for so many years was out at last. She had said just the partial truth because she wanted to see him in pain. Hyun Na Bi wanted him to suffer. If Jin Yong hadn't left her she wouldn't be in this position now. She wouldn't have led a pathetic life. She would have lived happily with him.

A week later she agreed to meet with Jin Yong's secretary after much persuasion. That's when she heard, Jin Yong had a heart attack that night. It was severe.

And it was the second attack.
