Back in Paris Coral's father was sitting in front of the royal council waiting to be judged. His ex wife reported him to them for Coral's birth. As a high ranking member, he's not allowed to have children with other species other than their own. With the war coming, they put this ban recently.

The reason why he is here isn't because of finding out about Coral but because he found his fated and he didn't report it. Fated are very important because you only get one and they are very vital to vampires. They can ease them if they go crazy due to the blood the drink and just like wolves, their fated helps them become strong.

Vampires only get one fated as punishment for their long lives. That is different in some cases with natural pure blood vampires who will get another a century or two down the line if they lose one. This only happened with the royal blood line. Berkeley, The head overseeing the hearing looked at him with a frown on her face.

' Did he really have a child with that woman? '  she thought. Her heart was in more pain now with the reality of knowing that there could never be a chance between them. At least the council will never let it be.

" Why didn't you tell anyone about the existence of your daughter?" Chase one of the elders asked.

" To protect her. Her mother was almost killed the day she was born by my then wife. Due to the actions taken by her mother, i couldn't sense or find her. I felt her life string the day she was born. She was so small and soft that i knew instantly that i will do whatever i can to protect her. Everything with me and Talia was so tense back then and despite knowing that she was my fated, she ordered a hit on her.

A friend of mine was able to rescue her in time. I knew that she took after my late mother which is dangerous for the both of them due to the circumstances. I took a step back that is all. I know what having a fated means and i can't afford being punished. I was looking for a good time to ask for help without being judged when all that happened." he said addressing his old friends.

" You know your actions cannot go unpunished right? " Elder Jen said with a smug look on his face.

" I know that. I did what i had to do to protect my fated and our child together. You forget that i pleaded with everyone in this room to approve my separation with my now ex wife. That very same woman launched a man hunt towards my fated while everyone just watched. This is also the reason why i chose this punishment after considering everything that has happened. As a punishment for hiding my kid as a form of protection and failure to protect my fated, i will resign from the council as an elder and i withdraw my candidacy for the president of the supernatural society. I have already delivered my resignation letter an hour before i got here. I am ready for retirement." He said and everyone froze. He knew why but he is tired of everything. He wants to go search for his fated while he still has a chance.

" That is too much for a punishment don't you think? " Berkeley asked panicked.

" No on the contrary , it is quite fitting. Losing my fated has taken a toll on me and i don't think i can function properly feeling half. I guess early retirement is the only option for me." Lincoln said.

" If that is what you want." Chase said knowing how it was like losing a fated. He lost his a decade ago and he still hasn't recovered. The difference is that he worked harder as a form of distraction.

" My daughter can fill that void" Elder Jen said.

" No thank you. She brings more headache than relief. I would rather be alone for the rest of my undead life than get back to the person who did this to me." Lincoln said glaring at the old man.

" That is my daughter you are talking about " Elder Jen said infuriated.

" I know that just like how you assisted her to harming me. I only gave her face for the sake of my son, i reported everything she did but the council chose to protect her because of you. Thankfully i got the separation because i would have grey hair by now " Lincoln said causing everyone to cough. They knew he was right, they agreed to their separation so he can drop the case for elder Jen 's sake. All nine of them looked guilty.

" We agreed to let that go" Berkeley who was happy about the separation as she's the one who suggested it said.

" I did but i don't appreciate a stalking ex and an ex father in law on my case all the time. Who knows what she would do next and that is the reason why i want to travel across the world to be as far away from her as possible." He said making elder Jen choke. He knew how obsessed his daughter is with this lad in front of him. The fact that he is still so strong even after losing his fated shows that he was hiding his strength.

" So what do you plan to do from now on?" Camilla one of the elders asked.

" Retire early and travel the world. I already sold my properties and gave some to my son. There is nothing that in this tribe belonging to me starting from a week from today. I would no longer be an elder, the CEO of Valero Group and all the other stuff I've been doing. I am just tired " He said. They talked some more and he signed all the necessary documents required. He made sure to read all of them showing a huge distrust to everyone in the room. Elder Jen rolled his eyes knowing he couldn't trick him.

" What's wrong with you?" Chase asked elder Jen. Everyone wanted to ask the same question. Elder Jen had put in a clause that the separation was null and void. Lincoln found it and asked his PA to make a new agreement. Although Lincoln didn't say anything, they knew he was steaming. Lincoln signed his NDA and official resignation letter.

" Can't i at least try ?" elder Jen said with a sneer.

" You could but i think you and your daughter forgot that he has evidence of everything your daughter did. We might not do anything about it but don't forget he still has some influence in the supernatural society and here in the tribe. Your daughter might be removed or banished from the tribe but the society is more strict. Talia might be sent to the chamber or executed. " Berkeley said making the old gentleman pause.

" I'll apologize to him." He said.

" He won't do anything for now. Haven't you noticed, his eyes has been empty for the past two decades. He might kill you if you show up in front of him. He's no longer bound by the council so if you continue pestering him, i don't know what he would do to you or Talia." Camilla said to her old friend.

" You know how feral i was having lost my fated. The only that is stopping him from ripping your throats is the fact that his fated left him a daughter even though he hasn't met her. That little girl is a bridge as long as you don't try to kill her. I believe your daughter has already crossed that line though " Chase said.

" You mean the life line is the only thing keeping him sane? " one of the elders said.

" Yes and no. Don't forget about Lukas. My son is the reason why i continued to be sane. I had the desire to keep him safe from his maternal family. I believe Lincoln wanted to do the same for both of his children. He wanted to protect the little girl his fated wanted to protect from him and Lukas from his mother 's influence. Although his eyes are empty, there is still light in them. I believe he is going to look for his son and make sure the little girl is okay before disappearing." Chase said and they nodded.

Macy looked at her fated who stood six feet away from her with a hurt look in his eyes. She didn't develop rash like she always does when he hugged her which is good. She looked over at Coral who was ignoring them as if they didn't exist while holding baby Raven. She sighed before asking mike to follow her to the lake.

When they got there, she sat down on the bench she had built with her very two hands as she looked at the beautiful lake with steam coming out of it. A clear sign that winter is coming. This place will look so beautiful with snow covering it. Coral's favorite is winter and she loved staying here even when her estate was under construction.

As a hybrid, temperatures like this is nothing to them. She can even go diving in the coldest weather. But that is a different story when it comes to pregnant women. They sat there in silence for what felt like an eternity. Well, Mike was standing at first before she asked him to sit beside her to test her theory. She was stunned when nothing happened again and so did Mike and the two women who were hiding behind the door inside the mention.

Sally had cast a modern spell to overhear what they were saying while Coral had advanced senses. They were worried for their friend who was going through the most at this moment. The perfect thing that was happening other than this was because their mates were also with them. They were worried about Coral's health after that perv called them to check up on her.

" So i guess this is real" Macy muttered.

" What is real?" Mike asked.

" The fact that you are my fated. That woman said that the curse wouldn't work unless you are the other half of me" She said.

" What curse?" he asked.

" I went to see a professional due to my condition and she told me that. I didn't tell those two because i didn't want them to worry. " She said.

" I see, i am glad that you are okay especially in my presence. " He said knowing that she wasn't being fully truthful. He won't ask because he doesn't want to scare her off.

" I am also surprised when you caught me. I was expecting to be sent to the emergency room as soon as you held me . I didn't expect to be safe and sound." She said.

" So what did the person you saw in regards to your predicament?" he asked.

" Vampires only get one mate unless you are of noble blood or blessed. I was surprised when i got a fated on my 18th birthday which was rare. I was excited especially after knowing who it was. My mom on the other hand was sceptical so i should say that she is responsible for this condition. I only found out recently that she cast a spell on me with her witch friend, my godmother. Only my real fated can get close to me. Apparently everyone other than me knew how that person really was and i learned that the hard way." She said.

" Does that mean you will give us a chance?" Mike asked.

" I will try but i don't make any promises. " She said with a sad smile.

" I know that which is why i am asking to prove myself to you. I know that it might be hard for you with the supernatural bond but i will do everything to make sure that you accept me despite it. I promise you that." He said.

" Okay, What's going on with your friend and why isn't he making a move on my best friend?" She asked.

" Oh Macy, my friend is complicated. I don't even want to know what to do with him or guess his thoughts. He'll learn the hard way that his way of life won't always work out. He has always been a lone wolf and prefers to do things on his own. He turns to think of only himself sometimes. He was already like that when we met and we have slowly tried to influence him . You know how guys are. We do stuff together, we party but everything about our personal limits are off limits. He has never done us wrong in any way. We all grew up messed up in a way so we can't judge him. " he said with a smile.

" I guess they are suitable for each other. One is too selfless for her own good while the other can be selfish when it's required. You are right, we should let them deal with their own stuff " She said.

While these two were talking, the two women at the door gave up listening. Sally stood frozen still with her eyes wide open. She looked at her friend who was smiling sheepishly at her and over to Luis who was on the other side of the house his eyes stuck to her.

" Tell me he isn't what i think he is?" Sally asked scared of what could potentially be. She put a sound barrier around the two of them.

" Yes, please don't overact. " Coral said.

" They will kill him coral" She said and coral took her hand as they ran to her office to talk after Jackson looked their way.

" Let's not think about that at this moment. You know what this means don't you?" Coral said and gave her a knowing look.

" I know but you know what they will do to him once they found out who he is." She said.

" They might but you came here with the idea of leaving the tribe right?" coral asked.

" I did but they don't care about that. My own mother killed my father after she gave birth to me. She is power hungry and i don't know what she would do to me if she found out that i have a soul mate. You saw with your own eyes what she did to my sister and her vampire husband. Luis is a wolf and you know the power she can get if she refines the two souls. " she said tying hair hair.

" I know that and i won't interfer with what happens with the two of you. The only thing i can do is to be there for you with whatever decision you make. I know you haven't officially left the witch castle for your sisters but at some point, you have to focus on your own life. You can't protect them forever. If you need help, don't be afraid to say so and i think you should be upfront to them before doing anything. They are both 18 now and are about to receive their gifts. I had to help you hide yours but do you think they can hide theirs? You know what your mother will do if they develop a more strong mana or psychic powers." coral said.

" Why didn't i think about that? I'll talk to them right away " she said running to her room to retrieve her spy mirror.
