" All right people. Look alive! We've got a distress signal from Geffen Meyer chemicals. Three or four hundred people could be in danger and we're going in to get them out. But be careful and be on your guard this could very well be a trap we're walking into. So, I want all men ready to fight."

Steve explained to his secret Avengers.

The secret avengers gathered and teleported towards their goal as Superman flew out of the base towards the chemical plant as well arriving a few seconds after the others did.

" How many workers did the radio say?"

Steve asked cable to make sure he had heard right.

" Three or four hundred. But there's something weird going on here, Captain."

Cable said to the man.

" Guys get out! It's a trap!"

Clark radioed to the group.

" It's a trap! Everyone out!"

Steve yelled to the others.

Suddenly a barrage of tranq-darts was fired on the team's teleporters cloak and wiccan hitting the two men and knocking them out.

"Of course, it's a trap. How else were we going to get you all in one place?"

Iron man mocked the group.

" What the hell have they done to them, cap? They're out cold!"

Hulkling asked the man in a panic.

" Just a little Tranquilizer to make sure nobody gets teleported away, kiddo. Sky-bird one you got these guys in your sights?.... Sky-birdone?"

Spiderman asked the guards.

" Sorry, they're having a hard time hearing you."

Superman said as he dropped the unconscious bodies of the armed guards in front of the wall crawler.

" Well, I'll be a fried spider."

Spiderman said as he looked up at Superman hovering above him.

" Superman, stand down."

Steve said to the man.

" They knocked our boys out. I think turnabout is fair play."

Superman said to the man.

" Especially with all of those ships you have in the sky."

Superman said to tony.

" We didn't come here to arrest you. Any of you cap. I talked shield into offering you one final amnesty."

Iron man said to the two men.

" Amnesty? For what? Not signing away our rights."

Superman asked the man in response.

" Aw, come on. The only people who win when we're fighting each other are the bad guys. This goes against every principle you guys have ever stood for Cap! Superman!"

" Don't talk to me about principles, Spiderman. Even after I pleaded with you on live Tv not to do it. You still revealed your identity to the world. Tell me, Is Mary Jane happy about the sand man having her zip code now?"

Superman asked.

" Listen, I'm going to give you all one warning about how this is going to go down. You can let us leave and I promise not to harm anyone. Or you can try to take us in, and I cripple you. I stop holding back, and I show all of you just how outmatched you really are."

Superman said to the opposing sides heroes.

" Guys, please. We didn't come here to fight. I know it's an enormous change from the way we've always worked. But we aren't living in nineteen forty-five anymore cap. The public doesn't want masks and secret identities. They want to feel safe when we're around, and there's no other way to win back their respect."

Iron man explained.

' Guess, he chose to ignore my words. Fine, I'll give Steve the chance. But if things break out. Then.'

Clark thought to himself.

" Cap, you've known me half my adult life. You know I wouldn't do this unless I believed in it with all my heart."

Iron man said to the man.

" We don't want to fight you superman."

Jen said to the man drawing his attention to her.

Clark heard the woman but chose to ignore her words.

" She's right, we don't want to fight. Just give me the chance to tell you our plans for my twenty-first century overhaul."

Iron man said to the two men.

Clark and Steve looked at each other before nodding in agreement.

" I want to ask all of you something first."

Clark said to the man.

" Go ahead."

Iron man replied.

" Ben, Sue. You two first. Do you both really believe this is right? And I'm not asking if you think reed is right. I'm asking if YOU two specifically think this is right?"

Superman asked the two heroes.

" I don't like it but the law is the law. I ain't fighting my government."

Ben replied.

" So, Ben! You're saying we aren't allowed to disagree with the people WE put in power? But let's say that most of America agrees with you and we should just give up. What about those who don't like it? What about our families whose lives are being put in danger?"

" But before you answer that, Ben. Sue it's your turn."

Superman said to the two.

" I think you should at least give it a chance. I don't like it either. But what's the alternative? We fight each other. I don't want to fight you or any of my other friends."

Sue said to the man.

" I see."

Clark said solemnly as he nodded his head in agreement.

" Let me fill you in on the state of things. Everyday heroes young and old are being attacked whether they are out in the streets or in their homes. For choosing to not register. Is that right? Heroes who aren't even citizens of our country are being jailed when they haven't had the chance to return to their home countries. Is that fair? Is it right to ask us as heroes who risk our lives every day to put our families in jeopardy by revealing our identities? Because one thing Peter didn't think about before he recklessly did what he did. There is no going back! You can't take this back. Once it's done it is done. Now, every villain from this day forth. From Thugs on the street to guys like Sandman or the Green Goblin are now going to be on the lookout for peter and his family. If you have kids, they are going to spend their lives having to look over their shoulder wondering is the guy my father put in jail coming after me. Is that what you all want for your families? Think about it. I'm done talking. Steve?"

Clark asked the man as he handed over the conversation to the man.

" You've got five minutes tony."

Steve said as he shook Tony's hand.

" Five minutes is all I need."

Tony replied.

" What the hell?"

Tony said as he looked down at a device Steve placed on his hand. Suddenly his body started shaking as a voltage of electricity shot through his body.

" It's a Shield Electron-Scrambler developed by Nick Fury's tech team in case you ever went over to the other side."

Steve explained.

" You shouldn't have taken down two of my boys, Tony."

Steve said as he slammed his shield into Iron man's face knocking him to the ground.

Tony's team moved to help, but poor Ben Grimm never saw it coming.

In an instant the sound barrier was broken knocking the team off-balance.

" Ugh!"

Ben yelled as Superman snatched him up.

Superman slammed ben through multiple towers in the power plant before slamming his face on the cement ground and dragging him back before the rest of his team.

Superman emerged from the smoke his eyes burning red as he held Grimms broken body up to the others.

" BEN! You bastard!"

Yellow-jacket yelled out as he grew in size.

Clark found himself surrounded by the Avengers heaviest hitters, Doc Samson, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Yellowjacket, and Wonder man.

" How could you do that to Ben?"

Jen asked the man.

" I warned all of you. This battle won't be like any other before."

Clark said to the woman as he moved to engage the heroes.

" You can't beat all of us! Give up."

Wonder man yelled.

Clark grabbed the man's fist and crushed it in his hand causing Wonder man to collapse to the ground and scream in pain.

' I can feel each bone snapping as I squeeze.'

Clark's face twisted into one of delight as he broke every bone in Wonder man's hand.

Marvel and She-hulk tried to punch clark but were knocked away from the man as he slung Wonder man's body around. Clark then rushed and grabbed Marvel and slammed her face first into the ground shattering the earth beneath them.

" How many times do I have to put you in your place?"

Clark asked as he picked the woman up.

He then drilled her back down into the ground as he planted his fist into her stomach and started punching her face.

' He's pummeling me so ruthlessly. Words no longer forming. Sounds stop coming. I can feel each of his incessant blows and bones splintering. My legs feel numb. I'm Scared,'

Carol cried to herself as Clark loomed over her.

Carol spit blood as Clark caved her chest in. Clark then grabbed the woman by her leg and swung her over his shoulder smashing her back into the ground repeating the move over and over until Carol was a bloody mess. He dragged Carol into air and held her in place for the others to see.

" So... WHO'S NEXT?"

Clark asked as he looked around at the other heroes.

Yellowjacket seeing the opportunity scooped clark up into his hands.

" You're strong Superman. But you're still a man. Now, knock it off before I squish ya."

Yellowjacket ordered as he wrapped his giant hands around Clark's body.

"Unnnnh!"

Yellowjacket growled as he struggled to keep the man in his hand.

" AHHH!!!"

Yellowjacket yelled in pain as Clark's heat vision burrowed through his hand.

" Big talk hank, usually comes from very small men. I feel bad for Janet. I know she wants kids. But I don't think you'll be doing very much after this."

Clark said to the man as he punched the man's leg breaking it instantly.

" AHHHH!"

Hank yelled in pain.

" You can stop this you know. All you've got to do is call your friends off and let us leave."

Clark said to the man.

Suddenly a bolt of lightning slammed into clark and knocked him into the ground.

The secret Avengers turned in shock to see the newly arrived Thor.

" Thor? Thor, what are you doing here? It's me, man. The falcon."

Falcon said to the man.

" Where have you been? Everybody thought you were dead."

Dagger said to the man in shock.

" No, Dagger. That would be you."

Thor exclaimed as he threw his into the bodies of Daredevil, Falcon, Dagger, and Cable.

" Oh my god. This is wrong. We've got to get out of here. This is really wrong."

Dagger said in a panic as she got to her feet.

" Wretches. You're not going anywhere."

Thor exclaimed as he slammed his hammer down on the ground sending out a wave of lightning knocking down the resistance fighters.

" Iron man to all points activate your audio blocks. This is going to hurt."

Iron man said before turning on his sonic attack gauntlets.

The entire crowd of resistance fighters dropped to the ground in pain.

Oh, lord. This is horrible. I can't look."

Sue said as he turned her head from the men and women writhing in pain.

I don't like it either, Sue. But at least this way there's no broken bones. Stand Down, Thor. The shield cleanup squad can handle things from here."

Reed said.

But as the cleanup squads were coming in the ground below them started to shake violently and up from the ground Superman emerged completely unscathed by Thor's attack.

" That the best you got? God of thunder?"

Superman asked with a crazed smile on his face.

However, before he could move, he was imprisoned in one of Sue's bubbles.

" That's enough Superman! Can't you see the fights over? There's no need for more violence."

Sue said to the man, hoping for him to just surrender peacefully.

" Sue, I don't want to hurt you. But if you don't lower this bubble right now. I'm going to have to force my way out."

Superman said to the woman.

Suddenly the noise that was ringing out stopped as Hercules tackled Iron man through a steel wall.

The other heroes quickly recovered themselves and the fight was back on.

" Falcon! See to Captain America! We need to get him out of here!"

Hercules said to the man.

Falcon rushed over to Captain America and picked him up.

" Open Fire!"

The shield agents yelled as Bill foster got back to his feet.

" You're kidding right? Get ready for the shortest comeback in history, Thor."

Bill said to the man as he grew to be about as tall as Yellowjacket.

" I don't think so."

Thor said to the man as he blasted a hole through his heart with lightning.

The entire field turned to look at the scene in horror.

" BILL!"

Clark yelled.

Clark grit his teeth and slammed his fist into Sue's bubble Shattering it.

Sue herself collapsed to the ground heaving in agony as her bubble was forcefully destroyed.

" Thor just killed Goliath."

Dagger said in shock.

" Fall back and regroup! We've got to get out of here or we're all going down!"

Falcon yelled to the resistance.

" You are all GOING down."

Thor declared as he raised his hammer.

" NO! The only one joining Bill today. IS YOU!"

Clark yelled as he tore the fake clone of Thor in half

" Grab our wounded and leave now!"

Clark yelled to his forces as he stared down Iron man and his team.

" Do you see what you've done Stark?! Bill's blood is on your hand. Yours and that fake clone of yours!"

Clark yelled shocking Iron man and Richards.

" I can see through his body and the hammer. Both are fake!"

Clark yelled.

He rushed to attack Stark but stopped when another one of Sue's bubbles appeared in front of his face.

" You know this won't..."

Clark was about to explain to Sue the Futility of her bubble but was cut off by the woman.

" Please, get out of here. Take your wounded and go."

Sue said to the man as blood fell from her eyes, nose, and mouth.

Clark knew he could end it all right here. But with his team down and injured as they were, and Bill's fresh death. He knew this wasn't the time or the place. Clark grabbed Wiccan and Cloak and returned to the rest of the resistance.

" You'll burn for this stark."

Clark said to the man before leaving with the rest of the team.

" AGH! Reed! What the hell happened? I thought you gave him some kind of directives: You said this guy would be just like the old Thor!"

Hank yelled at Reed as Doctors tended to his wounds.

" Sue, please. You've got to believe I had--"

Reed was busy trying to explain to his wife. However, sue was having none of it.

" Don't even speak to me. Don't say a damn word. Someone help me with Ben."

Sue said to the man before turning her attention to her wounded friend.

" I thought you said you knew what you were doing tony."

Peter asked Tony as they looked at the smoking body of goliath.

" I thought we were doing this so no one else got hurt."

Peter asked the man who responded with silence once again.

Uatu the watcher looked down on the heroes as they recovered their injured and returned to base.

At Avengers tower.

In the med bay Doc samson and Wonder Man were recovering with broken arms curtesy of Superman. She-hulk was nursing a concussion from being his in the head with Wonder Man's body. Carol and Ben were the two worst cases.

Carol had most of her ribs broken, her arm, and the leg clark used to throw her around were also broken. She had multiple fractures in her face, a broken nose, and dislocated Jaw.

Ben had to sit in bed as his body healed as it nearly had been shattered behind the force of Superman's grab.

" Jesus Christ, he did all this and killed the Thor clone. And he did all of that with ease. Just what hope do we have at winning this war, if one of their fighters can put us all into a grave with one hand?"

Wonder man asked as he rubbed his casted hand.

Off to the side Spiderman was having a conversation with Hank and Janet on the events that transpired

" You okay, Hank?"

Peter asked as Hank watched Reed trying to fix the clone thor.

" No, Spiderman. I am not okay. I just watched a superhuman I helped create blow a hole through one of my oldest friends. Do you really think I'm so remote, so detached that this wouldn't have some kind of impact on me?"

Hank asked the man.

" I'm sorry, Peter."

Janet said to the man for hanks attitude.

" It's okay, Jan. To be honest, we're all a little freaked out. This wasn't exactly what any of us signed up for."

Peter said to the woman.

" I still can't believe we cloned a god. Did you know Tony had been holding onto that strand of Thor's hair since the first meeting of the avengers? What kind of man combs his furniture for hair follicles and skin cell?"

Hank asked.

" A guy with a lot of foresight, I guess."

Janet replied.

" I just can't understand why our Thor clone killed a man. Is he missing a human conscience? Do we need to fuse him with a donald Blake or a jake Olson to have him function properly?"

Hank asked.

" Does it matter, Hank? Superman tore him in half with complete ease. He beat Carol into a bloody pulp. Can we even win this war?"

Janet asked.

" The better question is do you ever wonder if we've picked the right side?"

Peter asked as he walked away from the two.

At the Secret Avengers headquarters.

" Appeal for Amnesty? Are you insane? We just picked up another twenty-four supporters, Nighthawk. Tony's people are disappearing by the hour."

Steve said to the man.

" So, What? Bill's dead and some of our guys are going to be thrown in this Number Forty-Two complex. This big shield penitentiary Reed Richards was building..."

Nighthawk was explaining before Steve cut him off.

" And you're willing to let them get away with that?"

Steve asked.

" Enough! Look, things are rough. Guess what, they're only going to get worse. So right here right now all of you decide. Do you want to stay? Or do you want to go! Choose. But know this, whoever decides to go, no action will come to you from those of us who stay."

Clark said to the group of resistance fighters.

" I'm sorry But I'm out."

Nighthawk said to the man.

" And my teams coming too."

Nighthawk spoke.

" Cassie?"

Kate bishop called out to her friend.

" I'm sorry, Kate. But I don't want to end up in a super-jail like the others. I want to fight villains, not cops and other superheroes."

Stature cried.

" It's okay, Cassie. No, tears."

Clark said to the young girl as he wiped the tears from her eyes.

" You are a hero and we thank you and Nighthawk for the support you've given us. Take care of yourselves."

Clark said to the woman.

" Anyone else?"

Clark asked.

" Sorry, but I'm out too. I've fought my share of wars cap. And this ain't one we're going to win."

Cable said to the man before leaving with Nighthawk and Stature.

" Any other takers?"

Clark asked.

" None? Good. Get Steve patched up. It's time for us to move bases."

Clark said before walking away from the group,
