The body of the dragonman was left to decompose as Aerion made his way through the large mountains once more.
Not even ten minutes later he came across another house sized dragon corpse, this one had an obvious cause of death. Its rib cage had been crushed, the strength behind whatever did that must have been…well beyond even his psychical ability.
Not even two minutes later he had found another corpse, this one's head was completely missing its body.
He looked up at the valley of rocks that hid the sun from him, he waited for some giant dragon to come swooping down to crush him but alas all he could see and hear was the sound of lightning smashing into the ground below.
He clenched his jaw, his blood was racing, the magic in his body was thrumming in time with his heartbeat.
He was excited.
But he had seen what happened to those dragons and felt nervousness and even a hint of fear as he continued walking forward.
Not even 30 seconds later his eyes came across another dragon corpse with a crushed neck. His jaw clenched as fog lifted in the distance and his eyes came across the form of another corpse.
As he walked further up the path he got used to the sight of dragons crushed lifeless bodies laid awkwardly across the ground.
Eventually he came to an extremely large clearing, he had to that point passed over a dozen dragon corpses. His spear was in his hand with fire ready to be summoned at the first sign of life.
He hasn't truly used his fire to his full limits since he awoke his Godhood on Alfheim mainly because of the sheer collateral damage, but right now he feels completely justified in circulating his divine flame just beneath his veins.
Ready to revel in the burning flames for the first time in a while.
Ever since Alfheim he had been practising control and fighting with small amounts of the flame, he and Thor have the same problem.
Thor rarely gets to truly let loose, and when he does…well multiple past wars have been won in hours just from Thor letting go.
Aerion thought of Thor at his side and a small smile lit his face as he imagined he and Thor letting loose versus whatever had been killing those dragons.
"Oh, an Asgardian so far from home" the deep playful voice somehow came from behind the now frozen prince.
"What are you doing here" the voice now deadly serious at the lack of a response from the Asgardian.
Aerion turned his head, his platinum blonde hair shining reflecting the small rays of sunlight like a halo, his deep orange burning eyes caught the attention of the dragon.
Said dragon was the size of a castle, its claws the length of longswords and its feet the size of a small car.
The dragon had red lightning running down their gigantic form, its four yellow wings spread out like an Angel. The rest of its body was a light grey with a long neck and four legs.
The Dragon and Asgardian met eyes, the slitted yellow of the dragon meeting the wide blown orange of the God.
Aerion had no fear in his heart any longer, he felt bold as he eyed the dragon.
"I am Aerion Odinson, God of Fire" he announced as his blood red cloak blew in the heavy winds "You are?" He asked the large dragon.
"Lansseax" The name did seem to fit the majestic dragon as its wings slowly flapped back and forth. "I didn't know I was dealing with a son of Odin" the dragon said as lightning struck the floor with ground shaking crashes.
"Does that change anything?" Aerion asked the dragon that simply chuckled.
"Aye, it makes for a better fight Odinson" The dragon suddenly roared and dozens of bolts of lightning suddenly hit the ground surrounding him.
He was blown backwards and had to dig his spear into the ground to slow down, eventually he came to a stop and observed the castle sized dragon opposite him.
The dragon was flying towards him at high speed. It was already less than 50 metres away when Aerions eyes glowed a bright dark red.
The air filled with divine energy, tension quickly built as time seemed to freeze for both fighters.
Their eyes met blood red meeting slitted gold in a mini battle of wills as fire started to explode from the far smaller figure.
By the time Lansseax had crossed the distance between the pair the godly fire had condensed and wrapped around his spear hundreds of times.
The flame cracked and roared as if it was a dragon, Aerions red snake completely unaffected by the heat raised its head to stare at the approaching beast.
Lansseax's lightning filled mouth was wide open as it aimed to incinerate the God with its lightning, whereas Aerion was throwing his flame-covered spear directly aiming for the dragon's wide open mouth.
