Chapter 9: A Predator?

In a room which looked really luxurious, two figures could be seen enjoying their time alone, the room was devoid of any sound.

"Selene, are you ready to talk now?" I asked, gently caressing her silky white hair.

"What is it?" she lifted her head and said.

"What do you want to do from now?" I asked in a gentle tone.

"I want to marry you and have 1000 children." She said, giggling like a child.

"Both of them are not happening, at least for now." I replied, my smile twitching uncontrollably.

"Why do you say this?, don't you like me too?" she asked with a hint of curiosity in her voice.

"Selene, humans can only live for 100 years right?"

"Yes, that's the limit they can't live for more than a hundred years." she said while staring at me.

"I want to wait for 77 years before marrying you, and like you said I'm an immortal now, so we have enough time on our hands." I said but the sadness which I buried deep inside my heart was starting to resurface.

"Why do you insist on waiting for her, she died when you were young, dead people don't come back Ryan." She said in a worried tone.

"I know but if I can live long, why not fulfil my promise." I was trying to stay calm but my voice was trembling a bit.

"So you want to actually do it?" Selene asked with a smile.

"Yes, only for one human lifespan." I said firmly.

"I respect your decision, but I still want to be your girlfriend and do everything with you a girlfriend can do, you can keep your virginity, I'll eagerly wait for the day when you'll willingly embrace all of me." She said while getting up from her bed.

"Thanks for agreeing to my selfish desire" I said with a genuine smile.

Selene turned around and said "But I don't want to hide our relationship, I want to meet your family, especially your sister."

"Don't worry, I don't want to have a secret relationship." I said, still smiling.

I guess this was the right decision, I got up from the bed and looked at Selene with passionate eyes, I slowly pulled her closer to me and kissed her, her lips were really soft and sweet, the warmth from them was really pleasant, making me feel elevated. It was getting really hard to control my urges, but then I noticed that her breathing was getting rough, so I parted my lips and looked at her, her eyes were cloudy and looked as if she was in a trance.

"You are a good kisser." she said while panting.

"Thanks for the compliment I guess." I said while licking her lips.

"No this is a warning, human women can't resist the temptation produced in their by an immortal." She said her breathing was starting to calm down.

"Oh..so I can seduce too?I didn't know that," I said, shocked by it because Kaelestis never mentioned a second power.

"Every immortal has this but in some beings this natural ability is just heightened to a level that no one can resist them." Her breaths were starting to calm down.

"Ok, but I have something for you." She then summoned something on her palm, it was a crescent moon pendant.

"This pendant can hide you from prying eyes, because if someone sees your horrifying black wings, they will black out." She softly chuckled.

"Hey, they are not that scary." I refuted but I knew that they were not the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

"Yeah I know, just think about using it and you'll be able to completely mask your existence, even gods won't be able to find you" she said in a prideful tone.

"Thank you." I said before kissing her forehead.

"Hehe.....now shall we go?, your family must be worried." She said with a slight smile.

"Oh fuck, I didn't call them, Selene I need to go, I'll see you later." I said and ran at a speed which was not possible for a human to fathom, I left her house and released my wings, they were more sturdy now, so I can fly faster, I flew towards my house masking my presence with the Crescent Moon Pendant.

I reached my house in two minutes and scanned the area for any suspicious people but it was for naught, everything looked fine. I then landed near the door and opened it after taking a deep breath.

"Mom, I am back." I said while moving inside, I reached the living room, my family was watching a film together.

"Young man, you should have informed us if you were going to stay out for two days." My dad said in a worried tone.

"And what happened to your shirt, looks like you had a wild night with someone." He said with a knowing look.

Upon hearing my dad, mom and Rebecca turned their heads towards me, the look of anger soon turned into one of horror. I didn't understand what dad said so I went to the bathroom to check my body, but what I saw there left me surprised.

My chest had deep lipstick marks, which was not possible because Selene didn't use lipstick.

shit....she tricked me and now I am in trouble, whatever I'll handle it like a man. I covered my body with a black Shirt and went to have a serious talk with my family.

"I can explain." I said, hoping they would understand me.

"You smell like moonflowers." Rebecca said with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

"At Least that woman has taste in perfumes." Emma said with the same expression Rebecca had.

"I know, I just got a girlfriend." I smirked and said "You guys always teased me for not having a girlfriend, but now I do."

Their reaction turned more ugly and both of them said in unison "We don't want you to date a predator."

"What do you mean a predator?Now don't assume things just because of some lipstick marks." I said with a frown.

"You say we are assuming things?, your left ear has deep bite marks, I don't approve." Rebecca said while pouting.

I looked at my dad expecting his help but it seemed like he was enjoying the show.

"Ryan, are you sure she's the right girl for you?" Emma asked like a professional mom.

"Yes mom, I believe I made the right decision and she even wants to meet you guys." I said with a slight smile.

"Oh a brave one, I'll meet her, seems like an interesting character, I approve." Emma said before looking at Rebecca, who was still frowning like an angry cat.

I looked at her and smiled, "I'll take you to your favourite restaurant tomorrow." I said while spinning the gears of my brain.

"Fine, I'll give her a chance." Rebecca said unwillingly.

"Thanks brat." I said while patting her head.

"Take a shower, you smell like her." She said with an annoyed look.

"I thought you liked moonflowers, Rebecca." I said with a playful smirk.

"Not anymore." She said and left the room.

What a weird girl.

"Ryan what's her name?" Emma asked with a joyful smile.

"It's Selene Neoma, we are in the same class." I said, a smile uncontrollably appeared on my face.

"Hmm...she has a nice name, by the way, are you hungry?" Emma asked with extremely curious eyes, she suddenly turned from a caring mom to a cute one.

"No mom, I'll just sleep for today." I could not help but smile after looking at her.

"Emma, let him be, he's a grown man now and I believe my son can never take a wrong decision." John said in a firm tone.

Emma didn't say anything and smiled helplessly.

"Now then, I remember having one of those orbs left, it must be in my drawer." Ryan then took the orb in his hand and sat on his bed.

I will try using my power on this for a longer time.

He then conjured his pitch black flames and set the orb on fire, the orb started changing colours, this time it was faster, the orb of energy soon turned white and started breaking down but he did not absorb it, he let it break down completely.

After the orb lost its solid form, something started happening, the energy particles started gaining different colours, soon something entered his room from the window. It was a star particle which was really compact and barely visible which started fusing with the energy and completely changed the composition of the orb.

Ryan opened his eyes and saw something really beautiful, it was a sphere which looked like it had stars inside it, the orb was releasing a warm energy from it, the whole room was glowing faintly.

"This is something new." He said, wiping sweat from his forehead.

'I think it is finally time to absorb it'

He then started absorbing the energy, Ryan felt a warm rush in his body, it was calm and comfortable, small changes started occurring in his body as his body started getting covered by black scales. A few outlines were visible on his face but not recognisable.

Mika returned with a severed head in her hand, blood splattered all over her cute face, her red eyes were glowing bright "My lady, I annihilated the lesser dragon clan. The Flamesworth are completely destroyed."

"Good, they deserved it, anything else?" the cold female voice said.

"Goddess Selene gave Ryan something that can mask his existence, locating him is impossible for now." Mika said politely.

"Ryan is strong now, he can protect himself, send some knights to protect his family." She said with a caring tone.

"Yes, My lady." Mika disappeared after replying.

"Oh Ryan, it's been 10 years since we last met, just a little bit more, you will be mine soon." The woman had a loving smile on her face.

But suddenly the woman felt something amiss and disappeared, the universe was witnessing its second celestial phenomenon this week. The vampire queen was standing at the top of the castle, looking at the sky filled with stars, the stars were glowing brightly.

"This immense hunger for power, Ryan sure knows how to surprise people." She said with a smile.

"I wonder if those brain dead gods are panicking, it will be damn funny to look at." she said while laughing.

The universe was in a state of shock except for a few beings, who knew the truth about this phenomenon.
