Mallory the unfortunate child born from a human among a tribe of leopard demihumans was bullied and shunned since young due to her being slightly weaker, being a bearer of bad luck and because she was an easy target. Even when she kept trying to overcome her trials and difficulties, she still ended up in a poor situation and that is when her previous life’s memories returned along with a skill which had been awakened. How will she survive in the Danmachi world? I do not claim to own Danmachi, its plot or characters but there are some changes I may make to the original story and add my own characters. Plants vs Talismans

The large amount of mess within the room was hot just things that had been left around or tossed aside during his daily life.

There were many pots of soil which had plants growing within or some fresh seeds had been planted recently.

The magic spell that formed a green magical power gathered in front of the hands of him had caused their growth to become wild then they had been directed towards Mallory and Almura who had intruded into his room.

The plants had come from different directions and angles so it was difficult to avoid and it would be easy for them to be trapped by them.

The moment that they had reached them, a flash of light happened as magic burst out from a talisman that was in their pockets.

The magical light had taken form as barrier that surrounded their bodies and blocked the advances of the plants.

The man was shocked and shouted. "How can this be!"

He kept control of the spell but his magic power had continued to drain the more he held it up.

The plants started to hit the barrier again then he switched tactics.

The plants had surrounded the barriers and wrapped around them, the more that they were wrapped around the barrier, the more that the barrier had weakened due to the increased force being applied.

It became a battle of who could last the longest and which side would be the first to give in or run out of power.

One side was relying on the barrier holding up to keep them from harm while the other was only dangerous until their magic power had depleted.

One was an ordinary human who had limited magic power while the others were only using talismans that could only endure so much before they would break.

Mallory had many more talismans but did not wish to waste them and she had already seen enough. 'This should be enough.. now I have seen two spells being cast. It really is better to see it in person so I can get some practical knowledge and see the magic power operation.'

Mallory did not tell anyone but she did briefly enter a ecstatic state during the dance but it was only for a moment.

She did not gain a lot from it but what she had gained was a little more insight into her future direction related to her magic.

From all the studying she had done and the recent inspiration, her future path was clearer but it still needed to be tested properly and applied in the right situation.

The current situation was not the best place to bring out such a spell due to the nature of the magic being used against her.

Cracks began to show on the barriers as they were losing and the man began to feel that his spell was getting less resistance so he increased the amount of magic power to increase the constricting power. "Hahaha how foolish. Whatever you came here for has only lead you to your deaths."

The vines had barbs on them which increased the pain that would have to be endured and those trapped inside would quickly die of blood loss, being crushed or from suffocation.

He believed that Mallory and Almura would soon be dead and he poured everything he had into his spell to make it a certainty.

That was until he had heard a young sounding female voice coming from within. "You think you have won huh? Sorry but…"

When her voice had come to a halt, a flash of light passed around where the vines were wrapped around the barriers and created several afterimages.

Soon the vines were all cut into tiny fragments and dropped around the body of Mallory who had appeared once they had been cleared from around her.

Valis had been spun around and slashed many that came towards her again just like she was casually chopping some weeds, Mallory finally moved from where she had stood then closed the distance between herself and the man.

All that the man could remember before he had passed out was a painful blunt force hitting his chin and the cold voice of a girl saying. "You are no fun."

Once the spell had been broken, the plants had stopped moving and constricting around Almura so Mallory went to cut them to free her.

Almura saw the unconscious man lying on the ground and sighed. "You should really take these things more seriously you know."

Mallory rolled her eyes and lamented. 'Times like these are a luxury where I can study others and learn from them whether it is how to overcome various tactics or to just practice while learning from my opponents.

You really do not know the life of someone like me who has had to endure so much misfortune.. something of this level considering my current state is not really a good measure of how much danger I could suddenly be put in.. when that time does come then I need to be prepared.'

Mallory had a good measure of how often bad things happened to her and what was the limit to how much she would have to suffer at those times.

There were times when a lot of smaller things happened or a couple of still manageable misfortunes but there would be other times that there would suddenly be a larger misfortune that she would have to overcome.

If her stats and level continued to increase then her upper limit or tolerance of misfortune that she could endure would increase.

That increase would in some way help in putting her in more danger as if an unknown force would soon trigger certain events that would put her in the path of that danger.

All that was left was whether she could endure that hardship and overcome it.

What she was doing was only contributing towards that fate coming much sooner than expected so she had to be ready for it no matter what shape or form it came in.

Her involvement with the ongoings of Visa City had made her go up against a competent dark elf that had a wide variety of tactics available to kill her and her continued interference in certain events following that only help to move certain events along that would soon put her in danger once again.

Most misfortunes that others encountered in their everyday lives were nothing compared to how much she had to endure regularly and Mallory had learned to prepare for even the unexpected things that could happen.

In a world filled with gods, spirits, monsters, levels, stats, spells, skills, curses and many other things, there was a lot that Mallory needed to learn in order to overcome any kind of disaster, opponent or monster that would be near her.

Even a small thing that happened around her could be the result of her bad luck which would lead to her having to endure something once again, Almura accidentally kicking something over so that the person they were trying to catch had woken up was just an example of that bad luck.

Anything bad that could happen would happen.

The man was tied up by Almura who had placed a runic hand cuff on his wrists then dragged him away using her strong half amazoness physique.

The hand cuffs were one among the few inventions which Mallory had contributed towards but she knew that such thing had already existed to restrain adventurers.

Her own cuffs were able to seal off or stop magic and curses from being cast and they were being put to use on the first person who would be the one to test if it was useful.

With all of the magic and curses that had been involved in various plots within the city and the outside, it was best to prepare for facing such people and to prepare items that could be used to restrain them.

It was not impossible for a magician to be strong too due to the Falna that was granted by the gods in the form of a status or simply by working on their body too as they studied magic but there would still be many magicians who would be helpless without their magic or curses.
