Donnes Vs Fiend

The fiend wriggled in pain as it was hit with an explosion from within, its countless arms writhed in anguish trying to grasp on air, making an unsettling sight

Because of Ayumi's arrow the fiend was injured but was it wasn't enough to seriously impair it, a fiend class creature was far stronger than mundane humans, it could even tank artilleries blasts, which was one of the reasons for humanity being almost wiped out.

The phoenix soared through the sky attacking the fiend with its fiery talon, there were countless sparks of fire as the fiend took the attack head on, every time the phoenix attacked the fiends carapace slightly burned and cracked, phoenix attack seemed to work but at very small scale, the fiend was many times larger than the summoned monster.

Well it didn't matter because it wasn't the one that was going to defeat the fiend but the sentinel.

Donnes used the distraction created by the pheonix to close the gap between the fiend and him, he struck the side of the creature with immense force shattering its bone carapace, countless peices of its bone armour flying off in all direction.

The fiend used its giant body and slender shaped to move at great speed using the momentum to launch devastating attacks at the sentinel, there were loud crashing noise as Donnes's warpick and the fiend's hard bone carapace exoshell

But Donnes didn't have to go on the Defensive now with Kei and Ayumi out f the fiends stomach he could go all out without worry

He mustered all his strength and threw his shield using it as a boomerang, it flew through he air with great speed hitting the countless protruding arm-tentacles of the fiend, about two dozen of which were instantly torn of, using his ability Donnes called back his shield while simultaneously attacking with his weapon,

All of this happened very fast, fast enough that all a mundane person would see a hazy figure moving around a gigantic worm

Every attack of Donnes was infused with mana energy or else he wouldn't be able to hurt the hard shell of the creature, as a Sentinel his reserves of mana energy was vast, but not endless, so he had to finish the fight soon or else he ran the risk of running out of mana.

Knowing this he used all his might in this next attack throwing his shield at the fiend again but this time when the shield returned to him, he jumped on the shield using it as a steeping stool to jump from it in the air.

Using gravity to pull him down he circulated all his mana in his mana and put it in the warpick, holding the weapon with both hands he drove it down in one swift motion aiming for its head.

The fiend and the sentinel collided making a deafening boom there a shockwave was produced originating from the point of impact, both Donnes and the centipede-worm creature were thrown back, Donnes with his full force attack with Ron's augmentation ability delivered a devastating strike to the creature, the fiend was weakened by the explosion Ayumi and Kei caused and the constant onslaught of the party, the phoenix and Donnes so it was in a sorry state currently,

Which was why the fiend decided that it would retreat inside the ground, it jumped up a few meters up in the air and dove in the soil in one swift motion, the next moment it disappeared beneath the ground.

'running away are we now' Donnes remarked 

He motioned for his companions to be quiet, urging them to listen intently. 

The only reason the fiend was able to sneak up on them was because they were in a heated battle as someone of Sentinel status would have been able to detect a giant worm moving below their feet.

Donnes focused his senses, feeling the ground beneath him. Occasionally, he detected faint tremors—subtle vibrations that hinted at the fiend's movements below.

"Over there, found you"

Donnes retreated his shield and dashed towards the area he sensed the fiend using his Sentinel power, he pulled all the mana in his shield and hurled it into the ground, the shield manage to penetrate countless layers of dirt and hitting the fiend in its path.

Then the ground below Donnes suddenly parted revealing the worms may countless large teeth already pointing towards Donnes,

The fiend was now going to eat Donnes but this time it was a mistake as this was Donnes's plan, he intentionally moved in the path of the fiend.

he decided that if the outer shell of the fiend was too hard he would just find somewhere softer to hit, which was abundant where he was headed.

Donnes was swallowed by the fiend, there for a moment a eerie silence enveloped the battlefield, one moment passed then another, but there was no sign of Donnes, the creature now looked at the remaining party members, Ella, Hilda, Ron, Filas, Gord and Yuna all were fearstruck for a moment as the Fiend was now charging at them with immense speed, 

but before it could reach them, it suddenly shuddered and violently crashed into the ground, there were countless barrages of noise coming from its inside the worm-centipede wriggled in fear as it was torn apart from the insides, the fiend struggled for a few moments before slowly slowing down its movements and coming to a complete halt.

Then a person covered in slime, head to toe with a warpick and silver armour walked out from the maw of the now dead fiend.

"Donnes" the party members shouted, but before anyone could say anything Yuna somehow slipped passed everyone and gave Donnes a tight hug, her eyes were filled with small drops of tear, as she feared the worse for her brother

"Sorry Yuna for making you worry" Donnes whispered in a quiet assuring tone 

Donnes had slain the worm-centipede fiend class creature
