As soon as he got back to the dorm, Sorata cooked a hearty breakfast for everyone. He then got to work on his novel until it was time for lunch, at which point he made the decision to eat somewhere else because everyone else had their own plans and nobody else was in the Sakura dorm building.
'This is really weird, given I did not told anyone about this, but even Hikari was also acting weird when I fed her with cat food.'
Sorata had some kind of feeling to it, as he searched for Hikari too but did not find her in the dorm.
Not to mention, the other cats Sorata had brought back were acting strangely as well, and they left with Hikari, which was the reason Sorata's suspicion grew stronger.
"Maybe it can sound weird, but I think I've been haunted by something." As Sorata mumbled it in a low voice, he heard a surprised reaction from someone beside him.
A cute-looking girl of a similar age with a slightly pale appearance was on the right side when he turned to look at her. Her eyes were yellow, and she had black hair.
"Yotsuya-san..."
Hearing a boy call her name who was about her age and recalling that he was one of the boys from her class who always hung out with Nanami and Kosaki had recently gained popularity among both boys and girls for a variety of different reasons.
The tall spirit-like entity that was standing beside him had an ugly expression on its face, its neck was twisted like a spiral, and it was moving toward Miko's face, so even though he had welcomed her, she did not want to respond to him and instead wanted to flee the area.
"I see it is there then; I will go and look out at the shop. You really do not need to worry about things like bugs on my head, Yotsuya-san."
When he observed her response, he was certain that she could see something clearly that was haunting him.
Because of this, she did not have a good expression, and by the time her eyes met his, he was certain that something bad was happening, like something was approaching her face.
Making it look like Miko was looking at the bug on his head, Sorata dashed away from that place and tried to help her out in his own way.
But he had never considered how uncomfortable Miko must have felt as he watched Sorata run off and thought back to the things he had been muttering as he made his way to the restaurant.
A basic question popped up inside her head: "If he can't see them, then how did he know that he was being haunted?"
As her mental gymnastics continued, a second question with a potential answer surfaced: "Is he under any kind of threat from that thing and is that the reason why he realized he was haunted?"
With that, a final conclusion was drawn on her part: "Then he might end up dying by something that he can't even see or touch, and he might end up dying a horrifying death on that note."
This single thought sparked something within her, as she did not feel that much fear after realizing how she might be blessed to be able to see these things so that she could always avoid them.
"At this distance, she will be fine, but I need to find a way to deal with that thing without letting it know that I know about its existence."
Sorata, who had finally managed to scuttle into an alley, was contemplating what he would need to kill that thing if he had enough guild points, which he did not have.
Even if he did have enough guild points, however, he was unsure what sort of potent equipment or trinkets would be required.
After all, he only had two teams working for me, and both of them were currently only accepting the lowest grade of quests.
"Kanda-kun. You run really fast; you know that, right?" As Miko Yotsuya stood in front of him, lost in her labored breathing, Sorata was startled by the sound of a familiar voice.
She then snapped back to the present and looked at Sorata, who was looking at her with a look of amazement, which caused her to chuckle.
"Yotsuya-san is really amazing and strong, not fearing the on my head and coming here; after all, I had the impression that you really hated bugs." Hearing Sorata's words, the ghost looked to and fro between them, where Miko chuckled a little with a light blush on her face.
"What are you saying, Kanda-kun? You are the bravest one among us. Caring about others when you need to deal with the thing that you can't even see like me."
Sorata laughed as he noticed her expression changing and followed the movement of her eyes.
He was certain that the object was moving toward her face, so he moved closer to hug her waist and put his face close to her, which caused the object to stop at his approach.
On the other hand, Miko Yotsuya's face turned red as she turned to look at Sorata's, who was leaning so close to her despite the fact that she was aware that he was being kind and attempting to assist him.
Both of them heard a cat scream, and Hikari jumped onto the Sorata side with two other cats. Miko then noticed that the other thing had fled from their location.
When Miko, who was at that moment staring at him with surprise, happens to catch a glimpse of his eyes, his smile changes to one that is menacing.
"Kahhyahhh!!!"
Sorata's skill suddenly activated, his body changed to an odd state of activity, and he also started to see the hand that was moving toward Miko at a high speed but that, to him, appeared to be making snail-like motions.
The high-pitched scream that sent tremors through the core of Sorata's being was released. As a result, Sorata's body unleashed a constant burst of explosive force—a power that even a normal person can summon when confronted with unusual circumstances.
When he discovered that the area was, coincidentally, empty and that it was the best time for him to jump inside Guild Hall, he simply pulled her into his arm at a breakneck pace, grabbed Hikari from midair, and dashed out of the area with as much power as he could muster.
With the skill time limit coming to an end, Sorata's body felt weak, but his mind was alerting him of the impending doom that was heading toward him.
As a result, he was forced to run as quickly as he could in order to survive, and Miko Yotsuya, who had just come to her senses, began to follow him.
However, Miko was able to keep up with him because Sorata's body was moving more slowly than hers because she was also aware of his condition.
They all experienced fear at this precise moment for the first time, feeling as though they had an impending death hanging over their heads.
Sorata, however, noticed that his head was becoming increasingly clearer as his thought process and mental data analysis improved.
"This is not normal, but this kind of state of mind of mine is better suited for survivability." As he jumped on the next corner, he directly commanded his mind, and the time and space of that area came to a halt.
[Guild is detection two new entry by Master side.]
[Please select their designation they will be granted to enter the hall.]
As soon as she saw the screen, Sorata made the decision to give the Master Contraction Beast and Master Assistant the position where they would not be required to engage in combat or anything else related to it.
"Eh! What happened now..."
