"What did you do to her?"
"Nothing... I", scarlet stuttered finally breaking from her ogling spell. She moved back as prince Malik smokinghot Ryammel
menacingly stepped towards her.
"I ate too much", I saved the day and both their eyes snapped to me and they glitter in the dim light coming from the half full moon. It looked almost too big with comparison to the thousands of stars scattered around it.
I stood to my feet which tempted to give out. But prince Ryammel's arm shoots out in a blur and held me by my arm. Scarlet's eyes went wide and she placed her left hand on top of her heart dramatically as she drew out a very annoying 'Awwwhww'.
Ryammel shot her a withering glare. If looks could kill one elf with red hair would be visiting her creator. She gasped and disappeared in a blur through the door we came through leaving gust of wind behind her. My hair swatted my face. What the hell?? It was my turn to pick my human jaw off the grass floor. How did she do that??
"Elves are fast on their feet", Ryammel answers my thoughts nonchalantly. He looks amused and one side of his lips curled into a wicked grin. He covered it up almost immediately with one of his neutral expression and I rolled my eyes internally. He basically howled me like a rag doll inside the door and through a dimly lit hallway.
"I can walk on my own", I tugged at his arm slightly.
"Of course you can", He grunted but didn't let go of my arm as we climbed up a gland stairway. His lips curled into a smirk and I huffed and tugged along. I mean flew along on my tippy toes up the stairs.
"So you are a Prince?" I asked in a small voice after we got off the spiral staircase.
"My father is the king so I guess yes", He answers curtly and my feet froze in my shoes. I planted my feet on the ground and snatched my arm from his hand this time successfully. He turned around swiftly and his intense gaze landed on my retreating form. It turned into one of frustration and boredom as he ran his right hand through his hair.
"What?" He narrowed his eyes.
"Are you gonna have me thrown in the dungeon", I whispered. I was scared to say the words aloud.
He looked confused for a moment before his lips curl into a grin and he looks amused.
I keep retreating not trusting him. After all he could be just as psycho like his old man.
He sighed looking bored as he eyed me steadily. He looked annoyingly relaxed while I was having a nervous breakdown.
"Do you want me to put you in there?" He asked casually as if its the most normal thing to ask. I was right. He was his father's son.
"No!" I all but yelled. Just nice Narla yelling at a damn Prince. I gasped and covered my mouth with my hands.
"Okay", He stretched his arm out to me. "I'm just getting you to your room. I have unfinished business to attend to human", He added.
I tried hard not to scowl when he called me human but failed successfully. My jaw hurt from grinding too hard on my teeth.
He looked frustrated when I hesitated but remained calm nevertheless. He shook his head and mattered something under his breath like, 'damn humans'.
I force my feet to move but avoid taking his hand as I follow him till he pushes open my door. I stepped through but he held my hand and spinned me around on my feet. I shrieked as I look into his emerald green eyes which held me captive. His close proximity was giving me weird feelings but I pushed them back down. My mouth went dry and butterflies filled my stomach.
"Don't leave this room or open the door for anyone." His voice sounded deadly and and I just want to say yes. His commanding tone was doing things to me and my insides tingle with each syllable. I nodded slightly. Fuck Narla what's wrong with you. My conscious screamed to me but It was like I was spellbound to his eyes.
"O...okay", I stuttered finally when his eyes narrowed and he cleared his throat.
"Good." He grunted and turned around to leave. My cheeks heat up and I groaned loudly. What's wrong with me! I facepalmed and locked the door. I just behaved like a fifteen year old who has seen her freaking Disneyland Prince.
I threw myself on the bed and my eyes drifted shut almost immediately.
'A beautiful beach stretched out in front of me. The shoreline was the cliche definition of a normal beach. White sand and tall pine trees, Entangled with it were the blue waters that seemed endless. A green pine tree is stood beside the high rocks that cover one side of the beach. The calm but raging waves of the ocean water slapped the rocks angrily but they seem to be holding their ground, just like the beautiful woman perched on one of them. She seems unbothered by their rage. Her naked back was facing me but her dark porcelain skin was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Her black hair cascades down her back. I walk towards her. I didn't know why but it felts like she was calling to me. She seemed to be hamming a tune under her breath which got louder as I got closer. It was enchanting and I just wanted to listen to it. The tune got louder and sadder as I got closer and I reached my hand out to touch her shoulder.
"Hey?? I whispered as my hand touched her cold and smooth shoulder. She either didn't hear me of feel my touch or she just chose to ignore me.
I moved around to the side and that's when I see it. She had a tail, a blue fish tail in the place of her legs. I jumped back but her hand snapped out and held me in place.
"You came", her disembodied voice said as she turned to look at me and her haunted brown eyes landed on me. A chilling scream tore through my throat....
I sat up on the bed in the dark room and my limps were entangled in the sheets. My body was covered in sweat and my throat felt dry. I shook my head in attempt to get rid of the bad dream.
What a strange dream, I thought as I held my head in my hands. I was scared to go back to sleep in case that wretched dream came back. I didn't want to see that human fish again. I dragged my tired body from the bed and walked to the bathroom.
I felt so tired of everything. I yawned as my feet patted the floor to the bathroom. Why did I just dream of a damn mermaid? It felt so real. I needed to talk to Natalia. Goodness, Natalia must be worried sick of where I was.
