Valter's interruption.

Collin's practice was proceeding well, but after four days his first interruption happened. Valter asked to speak to him alone after breakfast, after the other two left to study, he told Collin that he was ready to try and become a cultivator.

"I'll assume that with all your studying you know that you need to do a ritual with spirit ore, and along with regularly refining that ore with your Qi, you need to practice an actual cultivation method to refine Qi and increase your cultivation at the second layer and you will need to form the spirit ore into a treasure and refine it into a higher-level treasure to progress from Qi Condensation to Foundation Establishment and higher. This sounds familiar, right?"

Collin was speaking the same way as Valter, the same uncaring and indifferent tone, he was hoping that he would get a reaction from Valter but all he got was a slight raise of an eyebrow before his face went back to normal.

"Yes, I've read both books you gave me." Valter's answer annoyed Collin, he was hoping for more of a reaction only to find none. But he tried to let go of that feeling as best he could before speaking.

"Fine, meet me in the male servants' quarters in two hours and make sure you wear something you don't mind getting covered in blood and other bodily fluids, and don't forget to bring that piece of ore with you." With that Collin left Valter, he gathered several things and went to the male servants quarters to prepare.

Colli placed a rectangular box on the floor and after opening it, he saw ten dark black decagons, they were two inches wide and five inches long. This was the ten-point energy gathering array. It was similar to the array Collin made when he formed his Alchemic Pill Dantian, but instead of burning out after a single use this one could be used as many times as he wanted. Another good thing about this array is that instead of having to wait a couple of days for the array to slowly fill up with energy, it would be filled in an hour or so.

Placing the ten pieces of the array in a circle of about five feet and leaning two spirit stones against each array pillar, Collin took out the only thing left in the box. It was a small thin metal square about the size of Collin's palm, this was the controller for he array. With a simple thought the array pillars began to hum, and delicate array patterns started to glow. Collin could also feel the surrounding energy rapidly being sucked into the array, causing the air inside to begin to shimmer with energy.

With the array set up, there was only a couple things left to do before everything was out of his hands and up to Valter to succeed or fail. Soon a small bowl and a medium sized jug with a wooden stopper, placing the bowl on the ground in front of the array, Collin removed the stopper and poured a light green liquid into the bowl before replacing the stopper and sending the jug back into his space ring.

The light green liquid was the medical essences of several spirit herbs that when combined would help Valter claim the spirit ore and use it as a dantian. Collin made it a few days ago for Valter and any other cousin that chooses the treasure refining path. All the spirit herbs are cheap and easy to get, but extracting the medical essences requires an alchemist. Since most people who choose an alternative cultivation path do not come from wealth or have powerful families behind them, they usually spend everything they have in the attempt to become cultivators and can't afford a medical solution, even if it increases the chance of success.

Placing the bowl inside the array, the medical essences began to shine slightly as the solution began to absorb some of the energy inside the array. next to the bowl, Collin placed a knife for Valter to cut himself, a stirring stick to mix his blood with the medical solution, and a brush for Valter to draw the patterns for the ritual on the spirit ore.

When everything was set, Collin went to the library to spend the next hour and a half reading. He was still reading through the books he got from the Styron family. The book he was currently reading was one on faith cultivation methods. It required several thousands of people to pray to a cultivator with a special prayer to act as a medium to syphon a small sliver of life force and convert it into divine power. The good things about this cultivation method are that a faith cultivator is far stronger than a normal cultivator of the same rank and have far longer life spans than normal cultivators. The bad things about this method are that you need several thousand people to pray a special prayer for a long time to progress, and if most or all of those people die, the faith cultivator dies. To protect their faithful, it is recommended that faith cultivator use special space treasures capable of holding hundreds of thousands of people or millions safely within them.

While Collin knew that treasures like these existed, they were so rare that it didn't matter how much money one had they couldn't be bought because they were priceless treasures. Another thing Collin found odd about this cultivation method was where was one supposed to get thousands of people to pray to you like a god. Like most cultivation methods from other worlds, it sounds good but has many problems that make it almost worthless except for its value in increasing one's knowledge of cultivation methods.

By the time Collin had finished reading the cultivation method and pondered its strengths and weaknesses, it was time to return to the male servants' quarters to watch over Valter as he attempts to become a cultivator.

The first thing Collin noticed after walking into the building was Valter staring at the energy gathering array. The second thing he noticed was the spirit ore in his hand, he was gripping it so tight that his fingers had turned white. It wasn't till Collin had spoken to him that he moved his gaze away from the array and noticed he was no longer alone.

"Are you ready?" Collin's question only brought a grunting head-nod from a pale faced Valter. Under any other circumstance, seeing Valter's calm collected demeanor being broken like this would give Collin endless amusement, but Valter had every right to be afraid. If he succeeded, the doors to a while new world would be opened to him, but if he failed, only severe injuries or death would await him.

"Relax, most people who die trying to become treasure cultivators do so from passing out and not being able to treat their wounds. I'll be watching out for you, I have pills and elixirs that will quickly treat your wounds, you'll spent a week in bed before you can try again. You should be more worried about wasting all the metal element spirit ore that I have, then you should of dying."

Listening to what Collin said, seemed to calm Valter down a little bit.

""Remember to cut yourself somewhere you will bleed enough saturate the medicinal solution, then stir thoroughly before you start to draw the array patterns on the spirit ore. Remember the array patterns don't need to be perfect, you're only drawing them to establish a connection to the spirit ore to turn into a treasure dantian.

Once the arrays are painted on the ore use the controller for the spirit gathering array to draw energy into the ore then move it through your body like the manual says. But remember to check the array on the spirit ore every two or three cycles and redraw the arrays when they disappear and keep doing it till you can draw the ore into your body like any other treasure.

You can do this; you have been studying this for all this time, you just need to remain calm and do it step by step. But if you don't think your ready right now, the energy gathering array will last till tomorrow afternoon."

"No, now is the right time." Valter said after a short sigh, before turning around and entering the energy gathering array.
