Demon slayer

-Alex pov-

I opened my eyes wide as my consciousness came back. Looking around, I saw trees. I then remembered that I had passed out in the forest. Two minutes later, I finally managed to get up, and I wondered why I didn't die. After all, the demon I fought earlier was gone, and I slept on the ground in a forest with wolves and other pretators.

-third person pov-

He decided to brush it off as "luck" simply because it wasn't the time for that. He thought, looking at the endless forest. All around him were trees and small hills. The ground had spots of light and shadows made by the trees and their leaves. He looked up and noticed that the sun was at its highest point of the day. 'Did I sleep for about 6 hours?'

Then Alex climbed the highest tree and looked in the distance. He saw a city close to and north of his current place and ran there afterwards. While running, he thought 'stats' and a red window appeared.

The reason he opened his stat panel was to see the changes in his stats, but instead the thing that interested him the most was the achievement named ???. He thought and realised that it might be the fact that he quote on quote defeated the spider demon because her name was labelled as ??? by the system. (Also, he thought that he quote on quote won because she underestimated him and left her guard down.)

Once he arrived in the city, he walked toward a certain street. The reason why he came to this town was because of what Florida man had written on the paper. From what he noticed, the town was a different one from before and was described on the paper. Now he just had to find the address of the house.

After a little while, he noticed that the address written was missing. He went and asked the surrounding people where the address was, but they didn't know why it was not there. Until a man said that the building that had the address was east of where they were and in the middle of the forest.

He walked east and found an old-fashioned Japanese house/mansion. It looked more like a building, but without being that tall. The address is written on a wooden plank on the "wall" that surrounds the building. A knocking sound could be heard throughout the building. A minute later, Alex said, "I was sent by Florida man." The reason why he talked even though no sounds were heard was that his senses told him someone was behind the door. A second later, the door opened, revealing a man in his twenties. His clothes were normal except he noticed a sword on the side of his hip. He looked pretty tall and had dark hair. 'A demon slayer'

"Why did he send you here?" asked the man.

"To fight the demons and kill the dem-"

Before he could continue, the man had his sword near the neck of Alex in a thousanth of a second. Alex panicked for a second, but he was not scared because he would be dead if the man really wanted to kill him. A red window then appeared.

After a few seconds, a new window appeared.

He quickly read the window without him noticing, and he understood that his opponent must have at least three hundred in speeds that surpass Mach 1 and Mach 2, but what surprised him the most was that he didn't break the sound barrier. (1)

"Is this a joke? Am I a joke to you?" Asked the man.

"No, this isn't a joke and no you aren't," answered Alex

"Then why are you here?" The man said, while storing his sword in its sheath.

"Well, to get info about the demons," Alex said anxiously.

The man seemed to think for a minute and then answered,

"What kind of info do you need?" he asked.

"The most recent and viable info on the placement of demons" Alex answered.

"On one condition, you have to become a demon slayer." I proposed the man.

"Isn't this the normal info that a demon slayer gets?" asked Alex.

"Yeah, but let's discuss this inside." said the man as he let him into the property.

As he entered the property, he noticed that the building he described earlier, up close, looked like the building of the demon slayer corps, but he noticed that it was deserted and there were marks of fights everywhere.

"I didn't ask, but what is your name?" Asked Alex curiously.

"Kodama Kohaku, just call me Kodama," said Kodama.

Once they arrived, they both sat face-to-face with a table between them.

"Why do I need to be a demon slayer to get this info?" He asked.

"Because I see nowhere where you lose, and also, if you want, you can leave the demon slayers after the demon king is dead." Kodama answered.

"It's a deal then." He answered.

(1 hour later)

He brought me to the forest at the back of the mansion. Where I recognised the trees that were used in the demon slayer exam to block the demons from coming out of the forest.

"There, survive a day and bring me the head of a demon and you will start as a demon slayer afterward."

I then proceeded to enter the forest as I knew this would only be beneficial for the current me.
