A Trip With Mother

The moment Mitsuna broke out of the void surrounded by walls, she immediately regretted it.

'It's hot. It's freezing.'

She then felt a pair of ice-cold hands picking her up.

'It hurts...' Mitsuna started crying.

With her body in such a weak state, she felt like she was being tortured before death.

Then suddenly a warm blanket covered her and the pain subsided.

She had still yet to stop crying because of the sudden large amount of pain that just came and went.

'I'm tired.' Mitsuna thought as tears kept rolling down her face.

She closed her eyes and soon after fell asleep.

She slept for a week straight.

She woke up feeling energized.

Stretching her hands, Mitsuna noticed something off about her body.

'Scales?'

Sitting up, she looked at her hands and feet.

From her forearm to her wrist and from halfway down her knee until her ankle.

Scales covered those parts although scarcely.

'Am I some sort of snake thing?'

Touching around her face, she didn't find anything strange there.

Going to her hair she only felt that it was like silk.

Her stomach also nothing.

'Weird.' she thought.

Looking around the bed she could only see herself on it.

Crawling towards the edge of the bed, Mitsuna climbed down.

'What a uselessly tall bed.'

Sitting on the cold floor, Mitsuna tried to stand.

And fell.

'Can't expect too much from a newborn's body.'

Crawling around the room Mitsuna realized that everything was very large.

She soon found herself in front of a 'you guessed it' Large mirror.

Sitting down in front of it, Mitsuna looked at herself.

Black hair and pink eyes with pure white pupils.

'Black hair huh. Guess I'm finally rid of that white colour.'

Noticing that she is completely naked, Mitsuna wanted to cover herself up but could find nothing to do so.

Suddenly hearing yelling and explosions outside the room, Mitsuna ducked behind the bed.

The door slammed open and with its hinges broken smashed into the mirror.

"For the love of all that is alive! She is sleeping!"

"It's been a week! We need to get her to train!"

"Oh really? How long were you in the egg?!"

"... Four days."

"And how long did you rest?"

"Two weeks... But that doesn't matter!"

"Aha! Tradition! Did you forget the thing you made me swear upon already!? I train her how I like and when I like!"

"We need to get her ready!"

" 'I' have years to do that! There is no need to start now!"

Mitsuna hearing the yelling voices filled with power almost made her use the floor as a toilet.

She peeked from behind the bed and saw how the man flew out of the window.

Gasping in shock, she noticed the bed creaking.

Looking up, she saw the woman standing on it menacingly.

Tears gathered in her eyes but she was too afraid to cry.

Getting picked up by the woman's cold hands, Mitsuna could hear the woman whisper.

"Come on little lady. Let's get you appraised. Then we can go and explore. How does that sound?"

Staying still as a rock and quiet as a... rock. Mitsuna just let the woman have her way.

God knows she didn't want to end up like the man.

Reaching outside the room, Mitsuna realized that the building she was in, was Huge.

Walls made of a glistening black stone cyan and golden embroidery, gemstone lanterns in the quartz-like ceiling and comfortable carpets on the ground.

'Are these people rich?'

Mitsuna thought as she looked at the lanterns.

'Better yet, am I the daughter of the owners? Do they know that a murder just occurred?'

Looking around with interest while her mother Aryamis happily walked the long way around while smiling at her daughter's reactions to the simplest things.

Reaching a huge door made of quartz and silver, Aryamis pushed the door open with a single hand and walked outside.

Covering her child with a thick mana blanket, she walked forward with a now expressionless face.

Mitsuna and her mother were then greeted with a loud yell from hundreds of soldiers.

"Your majesty the queen."

They all slightly bowed their head while placing their palm on their left shoulder.

"Greetings!"

Mitsuna looked around and realized that she was just in a massive castle made of the same black stone material as the walls.

The soldiers were dressed like royal knights.

The armour they wore was made of a strange white coloured metal that did not shine in the slightest even under the sun. They did not possess helmets but instead a black cloak and an iron facemask.

Embroidered on the armour in a shining black was a single phoenix with a dragon's heart. On the shoulder, there was a gemstone of cyan and crimson.

There was one knight who stood out among the rest.

They wore armour completely made out of the same glistening black material. It had golden embroidery that had no definite shape, he also wore a light red cape.

Unlike the rest, they did wear a helmet that matched their body armour. On the top of the helmet was a large feather.

The feather burned endlessly.

'I guess that guy is the commander or something?'

Walking through the gates made of fancy-looking wood, Mitsuna finally saw what surrounded the castle she was born in.

A city.

The moment she and her mother left the gate, everyone surrounding them bowed and closed their eyes. Almost like it was blasphemy to even set their eyes on them.

Her mother walked past like nothing had happened.

Reaching a fancy-looking house with a sign in front of it, they entered.

At first, the house was filled with cheer, alcohol and multiple women. It was like a club.

A second after they entered, the place died down and yet again they were surrounded by people bowing in silence.

Her mother had a cold look in her eye, this was the first time Mitsuna had seen it. Frightening.

Going up the spiral stairs and entering an employees-only room, a worker was just reaching for the door when they entered.

Instantly bowing down on hands and knees while shaking, Mitsuna's mother ignored it.

Opening another door and entering, Mitsuna finally heard her mother speak after a while.

"Oi old man. Wake up."

"Ah?"

A man sleeping on his desk woke up from his slumber.

He was huge. Black hair and brown skin. One eye missing and nearly 3 meters tall.

"Ah. That time already?"

"*Sigh* I told you to prepare."

"And I didn't. So what?"

This was the first time Mitsuna had seen anyone talk to her mother in this fashion. Also the second time she had ever seen someone have a proper conversation with her.

"Did you bring it?"

"What do you think I'm so tired because of? Getting these things is getting more and more difficult."

The man took an orb out from nowhere and looked straight at Mitsuna.

"So it's a girl huh. Mid can't be happy."

"Mid is currently playing underground outside the palace."

"Not surprising. Anyway, what did you name the girl?"

"Mitsuna."

'Mitsuna?'

"Mitsuna?"

'My name is Mizuki though.'

"That sure is different compared to your son."

"Well, they are different people."

'I'm too scared to change it. This woman is terrifying. But I guess she is my mother so she should be pretty lenient with me... Right?'

"Anyway use the orb already and leave. I wanna sleep."

"Of course you do. I'll be out of your hair in a jiffy."

Placing Mitsuna on the desk, Aryamis told Mitsuna to touch the ball.

"It's not a ball."

"Shut it."

Placing her hand on the orb, a screen popped up in front of her eyes.
