To the Capital (V)

"Yes. That night when that mysterious bright illuminated the skies and left me blind. The next thing I remember is that the city was sunken in chaos. There were people running all around prey of the fear, but I didn't know why. I don't know how much time I was gone and what was happening. It seems an earthquake took place, and I never noticed it. It didn't last much until that appeared. It was the first monster I saw, it was in downtown and started to attack everyone at sight. Nobody knew what to do, the few neighbours with firearms tried to shoot them and only managed to get the beast's attention and got killed. The people began to run frightened, though I couldn't. Something inside me, a new sensation resonated in the most deep part of my being and told me to face him, I must stop the threat. Unconsciously with my weapon on hand and without knowing how, I kept using my walls of light to impression him and kill it. Before I realized I heard another scream nearby and went to it. I go on and on all night. I couldn't keep any of that things alive and risk it would hurt any innocent people. Finally after killing the last one of them I fainted. I was sleeping for many days, you know? I believe I exaggerated a bit, luckily nothing appeared since then, I guess I managed to scare all of its kind hahaha"

I think I underestimated him. He gave his best to protect his city from the threats that put them on danger. He managed to save many people by his acts, in my case there were many innocents who perished while I didn't knew I had any powers.

The truth is that the fact of protecting anybody never crossed my mind, just getting rid of the enemy on front of me. Neither I feel that the intention of doing it comes from me, but from something on the inside... maybe it's just excuses to run from my insensibility.

He is much more of a hero than I'll ever be, he deserves more praise that the one I have. Now I feel miserable with myself for acting so childish.

"I know it's a sad story kid, but I am sure that you also have went through a lot, right? Don't feel bad for me" said putting away his kunai and patting my head.

"... okay. Thanks to you for helping me in that fight"

"Sure, we are companions in arms after all!"

From behind I could heard the noise of steps running towards us. I turned around and I could watch 3 soldiers getting close.

"That was great! I wish that I could be like you!"

"Really an spectacle! That animal looked powerful, but you were even more"

"Well done young man, we are sorry to doubt you. You are a hero"

The military that were on the vehicle and that I completely forgot about came quickly where we were to congratulate us for our fight. They looked very excited, it seems they have a better impression of me.

The mister came a few steps closer and the 4 of us looked at him.

"Well, now that all of you are here I guess this is a good time to ask, what's the reason for you to come here?"
